TO-GATHER Urban Design Project- Kelham Island | Microenvironments & Transitional Edges Academic Project | The university of Sheffield | Fall 2020 Our vision is to enhance the accessibility, functionality and socialised space for residents “to-gather”. We explored Kelham Island undergoing intensive regeneration and develop a design solution that demonstrates our concept for the transformation at various scales through physical models and illustrations. In this project, we re-designed the microenvironments and the transitional edges from the main street to the river bank in Kelham Island, Sheffield. We focused on the relationship between human experience and spatial organization in urban settings, we picked several types of potential users of the site and designed based on their perspectives and experience.
