Aiyanna

ome September 22nd the sun will be in the sign of Libra signifying balance, harmony, companionship, romance and negotiation. From October 22nd through November 21st, the sun will be in the sign of Scorpio signifying resourcefulness, secrecy, passion and intensity, and energy that is creative and transformational. Beginning november 21st, the sun will be in the sign of Sagittarius through December 21st signifying perception, aspiration, explorative and freedom-loving energy, foresight, optimism and travel.

October 15:

Full Moon in Aries Aries is the sign of the ram, and this moon is fully charged with Aries energy. This Aries moon will be conjunct Eris and Uranus, part of a cardinal T square with Pluto and Mars in Capricorn, and opposite the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter in Libra. October’s full moon will put us in touch with our deepest passions. With Aries in the mix, we are likely to act, and possibly rashly as impulsive Aries is the sign most likely to leap before looking. Pluto and Mars will also be conjunct in Capricorn forming a 90-degree angle with both the Sun and the moon. Tap into the solid and resourceful energy of Capri8

LOTUS MOON

corn in order to maintain balance and harmony. The sun will be in Libra and balance and harmony are two things the sun in Libra wants as well.

October 22:

Sun into Scorpio On October 22nd, the Sun moves into the deep and mutable waters of Scorpio. Where Libra values balance and harmony, Scorpio will reach for the truth at all costs. Scorpio is a fixed water sign, representing the depth and stamina of the sign. Tap into this energy to explore the shadows of your life or your inner-self.

October 30th:

New Moon in Scorpio

The Sun, moon and Mercury will meet at 7 degrees Scorpio forming harmonious aspects to dreamy Neptune in the ocean of Pisces, while death and rebirth Pluto will be in enterprising Capricorn. This new moon is deep, transformative and wants us to get in touch our own power. There is a dreamy quality to this new moon. At this time of year, the veil between our world and the spirit world is thin allowing us closer contact with the spirits of those who came before us. Use this energy to connect with their wisdom and experience, for they see

more from their vantage point than we do from ours. Also on this day, stern Saturn and harmony-seeking Venus meet in Sagittarius, the sign of the truth seeker and wandering sage. They square the lunar nodes and Neptune, a cue to pay attention to your dreams. For those who set intentions at the new moon, use the power of this moon to call in emotional security, and resources gained from exploring your depths. Now is a good time to work on healing the past, releasing jealously, guilt and shame, noticing where you create or contribute to your obstacles, and healing sexual problems.

November 14th: Full Moon in Taurus

This is a sensuous new moon at 22 degrees Taurus. Although the Sun and moon oppose each other, the moon forms harmonious connections to death and rebirth Pluto, and wounded healer Chiron. There is great potential for healing with this moon, although it may come with crisis as we clear out what isn’t working to make space for what does. The energy of the full moon supports this release. Taurus full moons are good for exploring themes of stability, determination and perseverance. Of note in the chart for this full moon is Venus, ruler of Taurus, making no connections to any planets at the time of the full moon. This creates feminine energy that is unpredictable and unchecked.

November 21st: Sun into Sagittarius

See the Sagittarius new moon section for details on how you will be affected by this Sagittarian energy.

November 29th:

Sagittarius New Moon Sagittarius is the sign of the teacher, the sage and the philosopher. Sagittarius energy wants to move around and experience life from different vantage points in order to determine the deepest truth. On this day, the Sun, moon, Saturn, and Mercury will all be in Sagittarius, creating a stellium. The Sun represents vitality, the Moon represents our emotions, Saturn represents disciplinary action, and Mercury represents thoughts, ideas, language and travel; all are simultaneously seeking expression. Aligned with the energy of Sagittarius, this can indicate these things will be on a lot of people’s minds. Sagittarius is a mutable sign; from a seasonal perspective, it’s the energy of fall transitioning to the deepest aspects of winter, sometimes bouncing between extremes. With Saturn in Sagittarius, there is a potential for rigid beliefs. With Mercury in Sagittarius, we may no longer feel like we can bite our tongues. There is potential to see this energy playing out on the world stage,

however warrior Mars is thankfully in humanitarian Aquarius and focused on what is best for the group. The Sun and moon square dreamy Neptune and the north and south nodes today, further adding to the potential for confusion and misunderstanding. For those who set new moon intentions, Sagittarius energy supports our connection to faith and our intuition, as well as our spirit of adventure. It’s also good energy to support calling in abundance, travel and study. The house in your chart where Sagittarius falls has particular potential for manifestation.

December 13th:

Full moon in Gemini This is the idealist’s moon. With the Sun in Sagittarius and moon in information-seeking Gemini, today is focused on ideas and ideals. How much research do you need in order to find the ‘right’ answer for you? If you feel it’s time to look for new answers or new ideas, today is the day to follow that urge and perhaps tweak your approach. During this moon we have a Grand trine in the air signs - with LOTUS MOON

the Moon in Gemini, Jupiter in Libra, and Mars in Aquarius, conjunct Pallas Athena, considered to be the female equivalent of Mars. There are also two T-squares during this full moon, one in mutable signs and another in cardinal signs. To me this signifies more fuel for idealism and change. It’s interesting to note that, once again, Venus makes no connection to any planets during this full moon allowing her to act completely unchecked in idealist Aquarius.

December 21st: Sun into Capricorn

When the sun enters Capricorn we officially enter the winter season. Capricorn, ruled by disciplined Saturn, has an extra dose of potential to achieve the goals it sets. Considered the sign of entrepreneurs and the foundation builder, Capricorn can see potential in any situation and create something useful with it. This energy is reflected in December’s new moon so keep this information in mind come December 28th.

December 28th:

New Moon in Capricorn The December 28th new moon brings the first stellium of winter, this time in Capricorn. A stellium is a grouping of several planets in one sign placing particular focus on that sign and where it falls in your personal chart. During this moon, we have mental Mercury, emotional moon, bright and vital sun, and death and rebirth Pluto in the sign of Capricorn. Depending on how far along you are with certain processes in your life, it may be time to tear down and begin rebuilding. It may also 10 LOTUS MOON

be time to focus on strengthening newer structures in your life. Where can you evaluate these structures in your chart? The house where Capricorn falls will point you in the right direction to answer this question. The energy of this new moon supports setting intentions around these structures and where you derive support from in your life. This new moon will support setting new goals and for stepping into your own authority.

with the Earth, and this year we will begin to see that we can no longer take this support for granted. It’s time to dream new dreams as a collective, but in order to do that, we must let go of any old dreams. This is a hard change for many, but change we must, as we each play a role in the evolution of human beings living on Earth. Love and best wishes for 2017! Aiyanna

January 1, 2017 Happy New Year! The Sun, Mercury and Pluto are in enterprising Capricorn, challenged by rebel Uranus in Aries and expansive Jupiter in Libra. Saturn is in the later degrees of Sagittarius and forming harmonious connections with Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Libra. The Moon is in humanitarian Aquarius and in a harmonious relationship with Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Libra. Warrior Mars is opposing the North Node, is conjunct with dreamy Neptune and in harmonious relationships with Mercury, the Sun and Pluto in Capricorn. There is potential for plenty of struggle this year as we continue to evolve as a species. Many changes are likely required, particularly in how we view our relationships with others, especially relationships with those who are different than we are. We will need to open our minds and hearts, and find ways to make room for all the human beings living on this planet we call home. On that subject, this year we will be called, perhaps even forced, to more deeply examine our relationship with this planet and how we honor its support of us. We are, and have always been, in relationship

LIGHT & DARK EXPLORING YOUR SHADOW-SELF

T

he Autumn Equinox marks the halfway point between the longest day of the year and the shortest. As we progress toward the Winter Solstice our days become shorter and darkness prevails over the light. It can be a depressing time as temperatures cool along with the brightness of the sun and we retreat indoors. We must remember, however, that darkness is as important to us as the light. Darkness is a time of rest and renewal, which all living things need for continued growth and development. Plants grow from underground, beginning their life in the darkness of Earth. Humans and animals begin their lives inside the darkness of a womb. Each night as the sun sets and darkness envelops us we are offered a rebirth of our physical and spiritual energy. Within each of us there is also light and dark. Each beckoning to be an equal half of your whole soul. Unfortunately, most of us shy away from that which we see as dark, as our darkness usually presents in ways that are looked down upon by society. Some people are anti-social and have difficulty communicating well with others, while others are active and end up being diagnosed with ADHD. Most of us have traits that we hide from the world and even those closest to us, because society has taught us to be ashamed of them. Many of you have probably 12 LOTUS MOON

wished these dark aspects within you would disappear, or maybe you have worked hard to combat and hide them. What is important to understand is that these aspects are a part of you—they are part of your soul. They are as important to your personal growth and spiritual development as the light within you. These dark aspects, which I also refer to as your shadow aspects or shadow-self, have become such only because of others’ ideals, especially ideals that don’t resonate with you on a soul-level. Maybe you grew up in a family that loved sports and couldn’t understand your voracious desire for scholarly pursuits. Maybe you grew up in a house filled with abuse and anger, and had to hide a great deal of your personality to protect yourself. As fall ensues and the light of summer withdraws, this is the perfect time of year to reflect upon your shadow-self. What aspects of yourself do you dislike or hide away from the world? Are you sensitive to others who have similar aspects? Do you judge them more harshly because of it? We tend to judge others more harshly when we can see aspects of ourselves paralleled in them, even if we don’t fully recognize it in ourselves. If you aren’t sure of what lies in your shadow-self, begin by assessing how you judge others. Learning to recognize and accept your shadow-self is as important

to your spiritual health and emotional well-being as eating right and exercising are for your physical body. What’s even more important, your shadow-self is comprised of soul aspects you NEED for spiritual growth and to fulfill your life purpose. Denying these aspects of your shadow-self is like denying yourself food. How would you feel if someone told you that you needed to diet? Or that you were stupid and uneducated? It wouldn’t matter if you were a size 0 or your intelligence rivaled Einstein, the question would give you pause. It would likely make you question yourself, your body, your intelligence—self-doubt would rear its ugly head and eventually cause you to feel bad about yourself. It would also lower your energetic vibration. Every time you hide an aspect of your shadow-self you inject those same types of feelings into your energy field, lowering your vibration. When you lower your vibration you weaken your connection to Source and create a divide between you and a fulfilling life. Fears can become more prominent as judgement and insecurities lead you down a path of disempowerment. As your desires seem to get farther out of your grasp hostilities can increase and self-doubt run rampant. Low energetic vibrations create a downward emotional and spiritual spiral.

LOTUS MOON

13

So what can you do? Start accepting your shadow-self, and learn to love all aspects of who you are. View those aspects of your shadow-self as strengths instead of weakness and faults. You cannot accept and love others until you can accept and love yourself, all of you. Learn to see yourself as a balanced whole, balanced between light and dark. Remember, there cannot be light without dark. Yin and Yang are a precious whole, as are you. You may dislike yourself for things you have done, ways you have acted, or decisions you have made. Instead of judging yourself for them, see those instances as opportunities for learning and growth. If you have hurt yourself or others, apologize, send love and forgive yourself for your actions. If you dislike a certain aspect of yourself, work toward accepting it and forgive yourself for your disapproval. So how do you go about accepting and learning to love your shadow-self? First, identify your shadow aspects. Too often we become blinded to them because they aren’t socially acceptable or we’ve been taught to hide them. You can find them in your judgements of others, the excuses you make and where you place blame. Once you identify the aspects of your shadow-self, figure out what the triggers are for those aspects. When do you notice your shadow aspects becoming more prominent? If you notice them at all. Are they triggered by energy shifts? Are they triggered by certain events in your life? Are they triggered by certain people? How do you react when your shadow aspects become apparent in your life? Do you lash out at others? 14 LOTUS MOON

Do you hide away from the world? How do you feel when they appear? Do you have a certain feeling that comes over you. Do you have any warning? Do you feel unusually tired or become irritable? Once you have identified your shadow aspects and their triggers, your next step is altering your perspective to see the value of your shadow aspects. How do they benefit you? It can be difficult to find value in them when you have been well-trained to believe otherwise, but take one at a time focusing on how that trait benefits you and only you. One aspect I struggle with is an aversion to people. I shy away from introductions, conversations, social events, even simple niceties with my neighbors. My husband calls me anti-social, but for me, keeping my distance from people helps me to protect my energy field; I am an empath and extremely susceptible to others’ energy. I work toward

being more sociable, but if I fail, I accept, forgive myself and let it go. As you begin to identify your shadow aspects and come to accept them, they start to become strengths. Visualize your shadow-self as the Incredible Hulk. Bruce Banner is ashamed of his alter ego, but the Hulk can do so many things Bruce Banner can’t. Hulk becomes the superhero, protecting lives and affecting change. Accepting and honoring your shadow-self will encourage growth of your personal empowerment and bring you in closer alignment with your soul. Use your shadow aspects to your advantage, to bolster personal growth, help others and affect positive change. As fall leaves descend to the ground, let your fears about your shadow-self fall with them standing proudly in the light and darkness of your soul. Written by Heather Noble

The Power of

PUMPKINS

I

t is once again fall. A time when trees transform from their summer greens into brilliant shades of red and gold. A time when temperatures begin to recede and we feel a crisp chill in the morning air. A time when we notice the days becoming shorter and the sun a little less radiant. It is also a time when pumpkins prominently fill our senses. They can be seen beautifully adorning homes

16 LOTUS MOON

and businesses, pumpkin flavors and scents are added to everything from coffee to candles and pumpkin patches become a source of fun and frivolity. Those of you who are like me revel in the onset of the season with its mesmerizing sights, smells, colors, tastes and sensations. For others, fall is a little less thrilling as summer frivolities come to an end and winter closes in. Whether you are

a lover or hater of the season, you can take magical advantage of its greatest offering, pumpkins. Pumpkins are chocked full of magical powers for protection, prosperity, abundance, love, luck, divination, healing and banishing. They can also be potent when used for contacting the spirit world and in lunar magic. Best known for their protection properties because of the ghoulish

faces carved into them at Halloween, pumpkins, even without their faces, are powerful magical protectors. Placing pumpkins around your home this fall is sure to protect you and your family from negative energy, and any wandering spirits that pass by your home on All Hallows Eve. This fall my home will be adorned with pumpkins and chrysanthemums for a rainbow of earthy tones and a little extra dose of energetic protection. A fall floral favorite, chrysanthemums are also powerful protectors having long been used in burial rituals and spells for the dying to protect the living from dark spirits. Chrysanthemums and pumpkins make for beautiful decorative magic, but what about a little edible magic? Try pumpkin pies as your go-to fall delicacy for abundance! Cloves, nutmeg, ginger and cin-

namon are four potent herbs for attracting prosperity. Combine those with the prosperous powers of a pumpkin and what do you get? One delicious prosperity pie! So get baking this fall as it might just might get your finances moving. If you’re tastebuds don’t savor the taste of pumpkin pie, try baking them for friends and family. Giving your edible prosperity creations to others is a recipe for success as your prosperous wishes will be returned to you three-fold. Maybe prosperity isn’t the only thing you need in your life. Have you been wishing for something specific recently? Pumpkins can help with wish granting as well. Although tiny, pumpkin seeds are perfect little packets of wish-granting energy. Write your wish on a pumpkin seed during a waxing moon and toss it into a nearby river or stream to send it’s energy float-

ing into the unknown. If writing wishes on pumpkin seeds proves to be too cumbersome, try using a pumpkin as its own self-contained spell. Pick a candle that has a color significant to your wish, such a green for prosperity or pink for love. Anoint the candle with oil and roll it in herbs using oil and herbs that are aligned with your wish. If you wish to bring something into your life, roll the candle toward you. If you wish to remove something from your life, roll the candle away from you. Once your candle is prepared, carve out a pumpkin and put your prepared candle inside. Write your wish, or wishes, on pieces small pieces of paper. During the appropriate moon, waxing if you want to bring something into your life and waning if you want to expel something from your life, light your candle and burn your wishes under LOTUS MOON 17

the light of the moon. As you do so visualize your desires letting the candle burn to its base. Speaking of the unknown, maybe there is something in your life you have questions about; a relationship, your career or a general feeling of being stuck and not knowing what your future holds. Pumpkins can help you divine the answers you seek. Place pumpkins near you as you use divination tools for increased insight, or use pumpkin seeds as their own divination tool. Once dried, bless the seeds with a white candle for energetic purification, scoop up a handful, whisper your question to the seeds in your hand, and scatter them across a flat surface. See what shapes and images you see in the scattering. You can use your own intuition to interpret what you see, or look to tea leaf-reading references for guidance.

18 LOTUS MOON

Have a bad habit you’d like to kick, or dark energy you’d like to rid yourself of? Maybe you have some anger you are ready to release or fears you would like to banish, pumpkins can assist you with these things as well. Insert a piece of charcoal into a small pumpkin. Light the charcoal and top with banishing herbs such as black pepper, cayenne pepper, rue, sea salt, tobacco, turmeric, mistletoe, woodruff or a combination of these ingredients. As the herbs burn, visualize yourself banishing that which no longer serves you. Perhaps you would like to banish a person from your life, or their negativity? Do so with kind intentions and a nice meal. Start by slicing a large pumpkin into edible squares. Drizzle the squares with a bit of olive oil then sprinkle with sea salt, garlic and rosemary visualizing what you would like to banish

as you work. Once seasoned, bake or grill the squares until tender and then serve. Remember to keep your intentions positive toward the person to prevent any negative energy from returning to you. Would you like to take advantage of the powerful magical properties of pumpkins, but don’t have access to real pumpkins, or care for them? You can still do so without real pumpkins as pumpkin scented sachets and candles can also increase the magic in your home. Pumpkin-scented decor items can still aid in protection, dispel negative energy, help with divination and bolster magical skills. As September comes to a close and fall begins in all its glory, take advantage of what magic the season offers with fall flowers and the bountiful supply of brilliant orange pumpkins. W

hen you think of palm readers what do you envision? Do you see a mysterious woman sitting behind a crystal ball becking you into her tent to read your future? Maybe your vision isn’t quite so Hollywood and you know a palmist, or you are one. Whatever your impressions, Peggie Arvidson is changing the face of palmistry through the unique and down-to-earth practice of hand analysis. Through hand analysis Peggie provides clients with detailed information about their life and issues that may be preventing them from achieving balance, success and happiness. Everyone has the power to change their circumstances, however many don’t realize their power comes from within and is spelled out on their palms and fingers. Often people’s sense of power is damaged causing them to feel lost, blocked and even broken. Many try to gain their personal power back by exerting control over others, while some look for it in their environment and external circumstances not understanding their power is actually within them. Peggie works to empower her clients by illuminating problem areas in their lives, and guiding them toward changes that will help them improve their circumstances. She is a catalyst for healing, assisting her clients in working toward personal and spiritual wholeness. “I want my clients to learn and know they are not broken. They may feel broken or wrong, or lost or stuck, but none of it is true. They are perfect. They may need help with things, but that doesn’t mean they are broken.” Peggie offers that help by reading clients’ hands. A certified hand LOTUS MOON

Peggie’s talents as a hand-reader paired with her spirit, energy, love and compassion make her a true gift to the world. She perpetuates change and positive personal growth, both within herself as well as her clients. Peggie is also an avid student who strives to expand her knowledge to affect positive change within the field of hand analysis and palmistry. Peggie is a true spiritual leader seeking to share her expertise with others to aid in their healing, education, growth, awareness and empowerment. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Peggie at a local psychic fair and couldn’t wait to find out more about her and her practice. LOTUS MOON: What is hand anal-

ysis?

PEGGIE ARVIDSON: As Richard

Ungar, founder of the International Institute of Hand Analysis, describes it, hand analysis is the psychology of the soul. It begins with the fingerprints. Fingertips show a person’s life purpose, which is unchanging, whereas everything else on your hand changes over time and reflects what is going on in your life. LM: How does hand analysis differ

from palmistry? PA: The primary difference is semantics. It’s the use of one phrase, hand analysis, over the other, palmistry, so that people don’t presume a hand analyst is a fortune-teller. People think palmistry is about their future, about what will come. They picture someone holding their hands and telling them who they’re going to marry, how much mon22 LOTUS MOON

ey they will have, how many kids they’ll have, but I don’t do that. I use the term palmistry online because that is what people search for when they are seeking guidance, but I do my best to make it clear that my work is non-predictive palmistry. For me, hand reading is a co-creative process. I’m the expert in hand reading and can tell clients what I see in their hands, but they are the expert on themselves so we have to work together. LM: How long have you been read-

ing hands? PA: I started reading hands when I was in grade school. I picked up a palmistry book and tried to read hands, but could never find people who had the same hands as in the book so I threw it away. I did it again in college, and again when I hated my job I picked up another book—I was good at it, but I didn’t know what I was doing so I threw everything out and focused on making money. LM: So how did you end up pursu-

ing hand analysis? PA: In 2002 I was well ensconced in my business, which was doing great, but my life was falling apart. At the time I had a marketing coach who I mentioned this to and she suggested I contact a woman in Tucson to have my hands read. I was living on the East Coast so I called her prepared to jump on a plane, because I figured you had to do readings in-person, but instead she mailed me an ink kit. I took ink impressions of my hands, sent it back to her and she read my hands over the phone. LM: What was your impression of

the reading? PA: I was so blown away by both her ability to see me for who I was

and by her confrontation of issues I wasn’t ready to face, because it’s not like I could put that information ‘back in the box’. My level of denial matched my level of recognition. LM: How did you became interested

in learning to read hands? PA: I ended up coaching with that reader for about a year and she kept telling me that anyone could learn to read hands. She told me that she was doing a certification class and I should attend. I kept saying “no” because I had my company to manage and my life was falling apart, I couldn’t leave all that to learn how to read hands, but at the last minute I called her and asked if she still had room. She said yes so I gave her my credit card and I was on a plane two weeks later to start my year-long certification. I finished my certification at the International Institute of Hand Analysis in 2004, and have been a practitioner and student of different schools, methodologies and lineages ever since. LM: So how do you read hands? PA: Hand analysis is like learning

a foreign language, each nuance in a fingertip and palm has a particular meaning. In school we learned to read a client’s life purpose, life lessons and life school, but as a practitioner I want to help people go beyond just learning their life purpose. I want to go deeper by asking them what their life purpose means to them and how it shows up in their life. I’ve found that telling someone their life purpose is great, but they often don’t know what to do with that. I’m a teacher by nature so I want to provide my clients with immediate answers about what they can do to help their situation. I like to give my clients their life

LOTUS MOON

23

purpose and follow it up by telling them what things may come up in their life related to that life purpose. Sometimes I see something in the hand that really needs to be discussed. My clients may want to talk about something in particular, but I make sure they know that before we proceed, this particular issue needs to be addressed. LM: [Peggie shows me an example

hand print and points out a blank spot in the center of the palm.] PA: This is an indicator that energy is leaking from my client. I informed that we couldn’t go any farther in the conversation until we addressed her need for self-care. This type of blank spot isn’t unusual, most people, especially women, are not caring for themselves. My client identified a few places in her life where she wasn’t taking care of herself so I gave her three things to 24 LOTUS MOON

do to help her start closing the gap as it presented in her palm print. Even if your hands don’t ink properly, it still tells a story. [Peggie holds up a piece of paper with her inked hand print] As you can see my pinkie finger didn’t copy right, but it still conveys a message, for me I wasn’t feeling very attached at the time I inked my print. The pinkie finger represents communication and we’re in Mercury Retrograde right now so communication is definitely an issue presently. LM:It seems like you can really tell a

lot from a person’s hands. PA: I don’t think people really know how much you can tell about them from their hands until you start reading for them. I have to tread gently in some areas so clients don’t feel like I’m invading their privacy. I would love to tell clients what to do to be happy, but they take away

what they want from a session and have to do things in their own time. I work really hard to show clients the value in what I do, so if someone is new and doesn’t know what my services are all about, I offer mini-readings. I have them take photos of their hands and send it to me with a single question instead of going through the whole inking process. This way they get an answer to a single question instead of me telling them the meaning of life and they not understanding the answer or finding it helpful. LM: You mentioned that finger-

prints don’t change, but hand prints can? PA: You can take your hand prints six months after a session and see how they have changed, that’s why I start sessions with the fingerprints. Fingerprints contain the core soul psychology, or life puropse, of

a person, which never changes. Everything else shows how to fulfill that life purpose, the lines, mounds, even the way your fingers lean or the dryness of your skin. My hands peel, and when they peel in certain areas I know it represents layers I’m shedding, like emotional or spiritual layers being released. Even changes in your finger shape due to arthritis, or slamming your finger in a car door has a meaning and tells a story of what’s going on in your life.

analysis? PA: I love that it’s the perfect tool for people who need to receive spiritual information in a more grounded and scientific way— something that’s more tangible and less esoteric. She told me it was because this was the only way Spirit could get to me. I needed something tangible to realize there may be something more to spirituality, and myself. For people like me who need that tangible tool to receive spiritual guidance, hand analysis is a beautiful gift. It allows them to become more open and trusting without having to see what their reader sees. This was perfect for me because I don’t see, I’m not clairvoyant I’m clairaudient. in particular right now? Or just working with clients reading their hands? PA: I am in the process of trying to bring together palmists from around the world to create a more central language and code of ethics for hand reading. There are three different sources of origination for hand analysis, Chinese, Vedic, which combines astrology and palmistry, and western reading styles. Within the western system there are many different approaches and schools of thought regarding palmistry and hand reading. Some are much more scientifically based, incorporating research on the brain and how it affect what is happening in your hands from a neurological basis. Then there are groups like the FBI and CIA who have their own coding in regards to hand reading. My desire is to take all of these different practices and bring them together to accept and learn. We need to stop pointing fingers and joint one another to create a common mission and lexicon, and operate in an ethical and upstanding manner. Ten years ago I was at a conference here in Tucson and we discussed having some sort of governing body for hand-reading practitioners, I thought for sure someone would take this on, but no one has. I’m getting a very strong feeling that I need to start this process, and now is the time. LM: Having never heard of hand

analysis until I met Peggie, I decided to see for myself what hand reading was all about. I sent Peggie photos of my hand and fingers, and within a short time received her response. I was very thankful to 26 LOTUS MOON

have a written response because the amount of information she provided was quite overwhelming. I asked her to focus on a specific area so the majority of the information in the three-page reading was in regards to my question. Like we discussed in the interview, none of the information she provided was shocking, but it made me look at my tendencies in a new way. For example, when difficulties crop up in life I lose myself in creative projects instead of facing them, and she called me on it, but not in a negative way. She profoundly explained that this was part of my life purpose and I would continue see this throughout my life. I have been struggling with business related matters and she guided me to actions that were more in alignment with my life purpose, to endeavors that would be more successful because of how my soul spoke to her through my hands and fingertips. She pinpointed difficulties I have been having and brought them in focus with ‘why’ and ‘how’ as it relates to my life purpose and personality traits. For a mini-reading, the information Peggie provided was extensive. I plan to go back through her reading to take notes and create a plan, and ask questions as she provides additional email support for further explanation. If you are ready to make changes in your life to improve your situation or get more aligned with your life purpose, I recommend contacting Peggie. My interest has never been piqued by palmistry, but Peggie’s hand analysis is palmistry for the practical mind. LOVE &HATE

the Spiritual Energy of Politics

W

elcome to fall ladies and gentleman, and the onset of election season. We are mere weeks away from the 2016 presidential election and in the midst of what seems to be the nastiest divide between political parties yet. Gone are the days of heated debate and philosophical banter between democrats and republicans as this election has transformed into outright war. From the candidates themselves, to the media, to our social media feeds—political wars are even being waged in our own homes amongst family and friends. Whether you are an active participant in these verbal battles or strive to hide from it, the judgement and hatred generated brings darkness to the light of love so many strive to cultivate. Have you noticed the change in our nation since the race began? Loving and compassionate individuals have turned into political 32 LOTUS MOON

missionaries angrily ranting at whomever will listen. Lies and fictional narratives are being created to disillusion the masses in the name of ‘informing’. People are attacking one another for their views, even relationships are being severed because of political differences. Just the other day someone shared with me that a good friend ended their 16-year friendship because of who they were voting for. Our country has become divided by political-based hate, and that division continues to escalate as the election grows nearer. Even those outside our nation are chiming in with their own judgements further heightening the hate. You are probably wondering why I’m discussing politics in a spiritual magazine so let me get to the point. All of this hatred, all of this anger, all of these bitter emotions drudged up from the elections transpire from a single feeling…fear. On the

energetic spectrum, the two strongest emotions are love and fear. All negative emotions grow from fear, and this election is generating a storm of them. Each of us has a wealth of fears that derive from our current and past lives. Unless these fears are confronted and overcome, they lay in wait, ready to surface with the right trigger. Although our fears don’t define who we are, they are part of our foundation as our personal and spiritual growth stems from these emotions. A nation’s foundation is the heart of its people. Our nation’s foundation is currently mired in hatred and division because the hearts of its people are filled by their fears. We are not allowing our hearts to lead our thoughts and actions, instead we have allowed our fears to rule our heads and mouths letting intolerance and condemnation spew forth.

Have you found yourself judging people for who they are voting for? Or changing your impression about others because of their political views? Do you try to convince people that your views are right and theirs are wrong? Do you post derogatory photos and articles to social media slamming the other candidate? Have you ended a friendship because of a difference in political views? If you have answered “yes” to any of these questions, you are part of the energetic division in this country broadening the gap between love and hate, light and dark. Letting hate and darkness reign in our world is a scary prospect. Instead of fighting one another politically, we need to be fighting hatred and darkness, and we can do so through love and acceptance. This doesn’t mean you have to love, or even like, certain political views, just work toward spreading acceptance instead of hate-filled propaganda. Acceptance may seem like a daunting task, so start by looking inside of yourself to find the root of your fears and what triggers them. Fears stem from your root chakra, an energy center located at the base of your spine. The root chakra houses the energetic core of your basic needs, your sense of safety, your sense of security and your necessity to survive. Root fears differ for everyone based on past and present lives, and are triggered by anything that risks your safety, security and survival. Elections trigger these fears because political officials are responsible for issues related to our basic needs. The Hillary email scandal has caused a national uproar because it triggers fears for national security and the safety of

our citizens against foreign threats. Another main trigger is financial security. Some struggle financially or have lost their homes and are looking for security in governmental assistance. While others want to keep their money away from government control to avoid losing it. The loss of our basic needs builds oppression and desperation to break free of that oppression. It triggers our fight or flight response and we seek to lash out like a cornered wild animal at anyone who threatens that. Candidates are easy targets to lash out at because they are in the public eye; they are the physical representation of our fears come to light. When people angrily tirade about the evilness of Trump, or loudly condemn the conniving nature of Hillary, they are actually speaking out against their underlying fears. While one candidate’s ideals may feel like the epitome of freedom and personal happiness, the other’s may feel like a noose of oppression slipping over your head as you step onto the gallows. With that kind of fear-based emotional response

it’s natural to lash out at whomever supports that mindset? What we need to understand is that instead of lashing out and blaming politicians for all that is wrong in our world, we need to look inside of ourselves. We need to uncover our fears and acknowledge them knowing we have the power to create positive change. Happiness doesn’t begin once everything in your external environment is perfect, it begins by finding peace with your internal environment. I will deny there are horrible atrocities in this world that stem from political and religious beliefs. Many of us desire to protect fellow souls from experiencing those atrocities through political endeavors, but lashing out against one another in the name of protection will only inhibit that goal. In the past year I have seen too many people who claim to be filled with love and compassion hatefully lashing out at others for their political views and beliefs. Do they only have love and compassion for certain types of people? This is where judgement and blame stem

from. We are all facing battles, just because one person’s battle is more outwardly apparent doesn’t make it any more important. It’s time for us to release judgement and remove our fears from their reign. It doesn’t matter whether our country is ruled by a democrat or a republican, mistakes will always be made as we are all human. We are not having to choose between life or death, poverty or success, oppression or freedom— only for what is best for us. We also need to choose to stand in the light and live our lives with love and acceptance rather than letting darkness prevail through judgement, blame and hatred. Throughout the next few weeks I implore you to connect with your

34 LOTUS MOON

soul and explore your fears. Once you recognize and accept the fears within you, it will be easier to recognize the fears in others and accept how those fears can rule their actions. You may not understand or agree with them, but you may find clarity that helps you approach them with love instead of judgement. For those of you who are gifted with intuitive insight, put your fears and political judgements aside and look at others from a soul-level. What are their fears? What are their triggers? And how are their actions being ruled by these emotions? See if understanding others from a soul-level helps bring you peace and clarity in understanding opposing views.

No matter how intelligent you are, not matter how experienced you are, no matter how talented you are, no matter how strong you are, a soul filled with love will always be stronger than a soul filled with fear. Conquer your fears and let love fill your soul. Love is the spiritual light that shines in the darkness of judgement, blame, fear and hatred. Be the love that shines light onto darkness created by others this election season. “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love,” Mother Teresa. Fall 2016

PSYCHIC ENERGY FORECAST October:

Magical Discoveries October promises to be a magical month for developing spiritual gifts. Your particular gifts will be surfacing this month so you may see and feel changes taking place all around you. These could be unexpected changes, perhaps even frightening changes if you are unprepared to welcome a new kind of spirituality into your life. Endings will become prevalent as you move out of one

36 LOTUS MOON

phase of your life and into another. These endings could be seen in relationships, careers, dreams, and more. You may find yourself butted up against dead ends forcing you to change direction and shift your ideals. What will help you through these changes is being honest with yourself. Are you happy in your career? Are you happy in your relationship? Are you happy with your ideals about yourself? If you find that you aren’t happy with certain things in your life, then it’s time to

change. Change starts within you. This doesn’t mean you have to quit your job or divorce your spouse, it just means that you need to be honest with yourself, and others, about what will make you happy. It’s time for you to focus on authenticity. What does this mean? It means finding what brings you satisfaction and joy on a soul-level. You do this through exploring what you are passionate about, or exploring life to find new passions. This month will require you to

engage in some internal reflection and self-exploration. It will require you to find the magic within—whatever is inside of you that makes you feel alive. Each of us has spiritual gifts that we have been given to help ourselves, others and humanity. This is the month to discover your gifts. In fact, the Universe is holding open the doors of destiny to help you do so. As you progress through this month, you may find yourself stumbling across fears that popup in your path out of nowhere. These fears, although seemingly debilitating at times, are for you to overcome. If you feel fearful of something, take that as a challenge and face it bravely. These fears and challenges are not a sign you are going the wrong direction, they are a sign you are getting closer to your soul’s mission. Your intuition will be kicked into high gear this month so listen to it, and your heart. If you get the sudden idea to go for ice cream, go because the ice cream parlor may await a wonderful new opportunity. If you feel the need to nap, do so and you could receive an answer you’ve been seeking in your dreams. Following your intuition this month will put you on the right path, and once there, your confidence and feelings of self-worth will propel you into new and beneficial self discovery. Mercury lingers in retrograde shadow until October 6th, so start the month off slow with plenty of personal time, inner reflection and self-discovery. Come mid-October, start acting upon what you have learned. Play in your passions and face your fears courageously. Get yourself a make-over, return to the gym, take up a new hobby or sport, and engage socially with friends.

October is a beautiful month for personal growth, and one that could plant the seeds for miraculous successes down the road.

November:

Empowered Authenticity As we roll into November, there is more work on the horizon to connect with your authentic-self. What did you learn about yourself in October? Did you hide away hoping a new month would come bringing opportunity without having to do the work? Or did you use October as a springboard to propel you into the person your soul longs to be? If you did not use October wisely and do the necessary work, I suggest you do so in November. By avoiding this soul-work, you are only denying yourself beautiful new opportunities for growth and success. For those of you who did do your soul-work throughout October, November brings more, but in the form of empowering your new-found self. If you have discovered new aspects of who you are and what you want from life, the Universe wants you to shift those discoveries into your daily life. What does this mean? It means taking action to change what isn’t working and strive for what you resonate with. Maybe you have felt stagnant in your career, but love what you do— November may be the month you are inspired to look for a new job. Maybe you have dreamt of starting your own business, but haven’t out of fear or because of other people’s opinions and expectations. November is your time to take a chance and make your move toward your dreams. This is the month to ignore the ideals and expectations of others and live for yourself. When you can be honest

about who you are and live life on your own terms, magic will ensue. November will also bring relationship issues into the mix. As you begin your road toward self-discovery and personal authenticity, changes undoubtedly ensue. This could cause a chain reaction throughout all of your relationships. Some of these relationships may end, while some may just need a little tweaking. Are these relationships able to grow with you? Or is it time to leave them behind and move on? These will be questions for you to figure out as your navigate the month of November. Communication will be the key to help bring clarity to all those you interact with. Do your best to keep tempers at bay by approaching others with love and compassion. It can be difficult to accept changes in ourselves, let alone accepting profound changes in the people we love and care about. Be patient, but stay true to who you are. The most important aspect of November is self-empowerment and empowering yourself to live for your passions. If there are people in your life who cannot accept the changes you are seeking to make, do not let that dissuade you from your path. Do not let the ideals of others block you from your newfound freedoms. Too often we live to please others and conform to societal norms— November will be the month to break free of those norms and your people-pleasing habits. Learn to accept your new-self, learn to love your new-self, and start living for yourself. Those in your life will either learn to accept and love the new you, or they will move on. It can be difficult and disheartening, but your happiness is what matters. LOTUS MOON

December:

Magic & Limiting Beliefs All of your hard work through October and November will pay off come December, and just in time for 2017, the year of new beginnings. In numerology, 2017 is a 1 year meaning it is the beginning of a new 9-year cycle. Each 9-year cycle holds the potential for exciting new opportunities and beautiful personal growth. As December sets in we will begin to feel the burgeoning freedom as the new cycle approaches and a release as the previous cycle comes to a close. Imagine yourself as a young child discovering your world for the first time. To us, a butterfly is a colorful creature we barely take notice of. To a child, however, a butterfly is a miraculous and fascinating being full of magic and wonder. This is how we need to prepare ourselves for the coming year. Connect with your inner child this month and let him or her run rampant. Although you may not be a fan of December holidays, its a perfect time to let your inner child experience the magic and joy of the season. Go to holiday parties, partake in holiday festivities with your children, buy yourself a gift, decorate your home, imbibe in a little spiked egg nog…allow yourself to celebrate and play. No longer believing in Santa doen’t mean we also have to stop believing in magic. Magic can be found everywhere during the holidays if you look within your heart. Instead of hoping for magic to find us, as adults we can now make the magic. This December, ask for what you want and instead of hoping your wish comes true, know that you and the Universe can make it happen. You can manifest it. 40 LOTUS MOON

I briefly discussed breaking away from societal norms and others’ ideals in November’s forecast—December will be more of the same. This month, however, it will be in regards to breaking free of limited thinking, thinking that holds you back from reaching for your dreams and empowering yourself to achieve your desires. There are many beliefs we hold onto because we have nothing else to believe. Things like, ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’, ‘hard work = success’, and so many more. These types of beliefs change how we relate to others, ourselves, our goals and how we live our lives. Unfortunately they’re not accurate and create blocks that keep us from

success, love, financial security, etc. These ideals are taught, they are not inherent. Children are not born with these dreams, they learn them. Throughout December as your inner child leads the way, let your inner child lead you to back to believing in fairytales and achieving your dreams with ease. Break free from generational and societal programming and start believing that you can have all that you want, without sacrificing aspects of yourself. Fill your life with fun, frivolity, magic, love, happiness and endless dreams this month, and release the rest. Sending you all so much love and a light-filled fall. Written by Heather Noble

Your Life Path number is derived from adding the digits of your full birth date. Begin by converting the month, day, and birth year to single digits then adding them together. The total sum is further reduced by adding the remaining digits together until a single digit is obtained. *The exception to this rule is with the ‘Master Numbers’ 11 and 22 - i.e. November the 11th month, birthdays on the 11th or 22nd, or sum totals of 11 or 22. As I’ve been exploring my spirituality, I am noticeably feeling a lot of energy around me, and feel like I’m seeing signs and definitely numbers. Are these guardian angel messages or just more of an awakening? A.O. You are definitely seeing signs and messges from your guides, which are part of your awakening process. The more you take notice of these signs and messages, pay attention of them, and interact with your guides thanking them for the messages you are receiving, the more they will interact with you. What is most prominently coming up for you energetically right now, is your need to trust in yourself with regards to receiving these messages. Self-empowerment is really important for you at this time. Trust in yourself and have faith that what you are seeing and 44 LOTUS MOON

sensing is real. Your spiritual guides are bringing you messages of hope, both in regards to situation you are experiencing, and in regards to your life purpose and spiritual path. They are wanting you to know that they are present and there to help whenever you ask for it. Although hey cannot always help in the ways you would like them to, they are doing what they can and bringing you messages of encouragement along the way. Your happiness is their main concern, and no matter what you have experienced in the past or are experiencing now, it is for your highest good. If you are currently having difficulty with a particular person or situation, their guidance is to do your best to remove yourself emotionally and seek your happy place whenever possible. You need to experience laughter and fun. Like a child who falls down and cries, and not a minute later is up

and playing once more. The situation you are concerned about is causing you more worry and stress than is necessary. You can help see the situation from a more realistic perspective if you step back, release worry, and have a little fun. The situation won’t just magically go away, but allowing yourself a little release, you will gain a more realistic sense of the situation, and a stronger perspective of yourself. Laughter and fun lighten the heaviness of your heart, and strengthen your solar plexus chakra helping you stand tall and exert your personal power when necessary. You are also being asked to give back. Part of your spiritual awakening is understanding the give and take of the Universe. We ask for help from the Universe and our guides, but we must also give back. It’s an important balance of give and take. Some people are takers, some are givers, but we all need to be both. We don’t have to do both all the time, we just have to understand that both are necessary. Right now you are being asked to give back. It can be a simple gesture such as offering emotional support to a friend, or thanking the Universe and your guides for their undying love and support. Maybe you have a special gift or talent you can use to help others, or provide guidance to those in need. If you struggle to come up with something, pay attention to your intuition and any signs you take notice of. Make sure you are also finding gratitude in all you are thankful for in your life. Gratitude can bring more magic into your life than you might expect. Thanking the Universe for what you have, even the difficult lessons, is important. Sending Love, Heather
