Darian Rosario is a class of 2022 offensive lineman for Lake Charles high school in Lake Charles, LA. Even at such a young age, Darian has such a great build for an offensive lineman at 5’10 260lbs. Whether it’s causing pancakes or creating a running lane, Darian rarely fails at making the right decision, heavily resulting in success for his team. With an overall GPA of a 3.0, it’s clear that Darian takes hard work seriously, on and off the field.
What did football teach you about yourself of life once you began
playing? That you have to stay disciplined and stay patient with the game. You’re going to have ups and downs, but you just have to stay with it.
Who or what has been your biggest motivation or role model in
the sport? My biggest role model is my mom because she is always pushing me to stay on top of my grades, work out, eat right, and go to the field and stays on top of me every single day. What is your favorite memory while playing the sport? My favorite memory is when we played Westlake in the second round of the playoffs on one of my pancake blocks. I picked one of the other guys up and made him do a backflip 360 degrees.
Are you involved with any other sports or activities at school besides football and if so, how do you think those experiences have
helped you on the football field? I did wrestling, but right now I am strictly doing workouts with coach Frank lifting weights and working on hip flexibility.
Do you have a favorite athlete, college or Nfl, that you look up to?
I look up to Quinton Nelson because my game is just like his game, he’s very physical at the point of attack, and that’s what I am too.
Outside of sports what are hobbies or passions you do in your free
time and what about them do you like the most? I like to drive around and listen to music because for me music blocks everything else out so I just like to keep my headphones in and listen to it.
This past season was obviously very different with all of the Covid restrictions. What adjustments did your team have to make and
how were you all able to overcome that? We weren’t able to all be in the locker room and we couldn’t practice as a team. It was a big transition for us but we had to pay past the. We saw each game as an opportunity to get away from all of the Covid restrictions and just play together.
The 2021 season is still a little far out, but is there anything that
you are already looking forward to for next season? Yes, I’m looking forward to the same O-line from last year that took us to the semi-finals, the same D-line, the same defense, we just want a chance to get back to the semi-finals and go to state.
What’s some advice you would give to younger players that want
to play high school football one day? Stay patient and stay disciplined. The game is going to come with ups and downs, you just have to stay with it and don’t give up.
