Dalton Johnson is a Defensive End/Linebacker prospect in the 2022 class and plays for Bourgeois High School in Gray, Louisiana. Standing at 5’11 170lbs, he brings a burst of speed from the edge with a great first step. With this quick first step, Dalton has the speed and some elite hustle ability to make the touchdown saving tackle or sack the Quarterback within the blink of an eye. Johnson Jr. is very productive and active player in the run game. He is very good at engaging with the offensive lineman and has the strength to reposition him to force the runner inside. Which he then disengages from the block and secures the tackle with his amazingly sound tackling abilities, which are almost textbook. On top of this sound tackling, he brings amazing physicality, despite his size, and seems to always make the opposing player feel him by delivering huge hits. Dalton Johnson Jr. is a incredible speed rusher who also brings physicality and strength to the position. He is a sure leader on that Bourgeois defense, but is also a leader off the field as well.

When did you start playing football? When I was 6 or 7 years old.

Who is your biggest influence? My biggest influence…I think that would have to be Devin White. What was he, like 6’0 240 in high school? He was always just a beast.

Did you start out playing any other position? I started playing running back, then safety, then linebacker, and then defensive end. That one is more like an outside linebacker role though.

What NFL player would you compare your game to and

why? Troy Polamalu, I am very aggressive! I like to get to the ball.

What is your favorite aspect of your game? How I wrap up and my angles, my angles are good too.

What is your mentality going into game day? I like to set the bar high; I like to set a certain number of tackles that I want to get, and I go for it. I am very toned in on game days.

What are some team and personal goals you have for next

season? For my team goals, I just hope we can be more discipled and win more games. We have a lot of talent; we just do not make the right decisions. For my personal goals though, I would like to make all – state. I made all – district last year.

What has football taught you about life and yourself in gen-

eral? You got to be very discipled, you got to be very focused, and you got to grind to get what you want to get. Sometimes you have no days off.

What would you want every scout to know about you? I would like them to know that I am a very dynamic player, I can play safety, linebacker, blitz, but I might have to red shirt my freshman season so I can put on some weight.
