DEAR PARISHIONERS AND FRIENDS,
Like millions of Catholics throughout the world, I am saddened !Y the unexpected resignation of Pope Benedict XVl, but confidently assured, as the Holy Father encourages us in his speech to the Consistory on the roth of February 2013, to "entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother [Vlary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff." With the announcement, we are all well aware that the Conclave of Cardinals to be convoked the day after our Parish Lenten Mission to choose a new Pope who will "govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, (with) both strength of mind and body." (ibid) Regardless of who will sit in the Chair of St. Peter, our faith in Jesus Christ, the Supreme Pastor stands firm. We look forward with anticipation to our Lenten Mission as we continue to pass on to future generations the renewed faith that has been with us in these past 8o years as a parish.
I sincerely invite you foremost as parishioner and welcome you to invite your neighbors and family members to come together in these most irnportant four days of our Parish Lenten Mission beginning on this Second Sunday of Lent. I am deeply grateful for your thoughts, prayers and comments during the last three weeks of questions and look forward to coming together with you to look more deeply into the life of faith we share together. With the new finishing on the church building, we look forward to an inner refinishing as well to more firmly follow the faith into which we have been called. also thank the members of our Parish Stewardship/ Discipleship Council and Parish Mission Planning Team. I am deeply I would like
