At the Kiwanis Easter Pancake Breakfast, Key Clubbers were tasked with a variety of jobs including taping place mats to tables, handing out flyers for the breakfast stand, and serving pancakes and sausages to customers at the stand. This event created opportunities for volunteers to develop teamwork skills, as a plate would be passed down the table for individual servers to either add pancakes, sausages, or syrup. Members were also able to learn communication skills through talking with people at the event. Because there was a constant flow of customers to serve and a large crowd to recommend breakfast to, volunteers worked hard throughout the whole event. It was a fun and enjoyable atmosphere to volunteer in since the other activities, like the egg hunt and inflatable slides, could be seen from the pancake stand. Leaving this event, Key Clubbers have better collaboration skills and can say they have grown closer to other members of the club. - Vy Tran

On Saturday, May 7, I volunteered at the Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids. Our job was to cheer on the runners, which was really fun since we got to talk to them and support them. Afterwards, we visited all the different booths at the event. We also got free shirts and food, which made the whole experience really fun. It was a great experience and I would love to do it again! – Ngoc Le

At the Mary Cassett Spring Tea event, we were first tasked to set up the tea tables. After we finished, we had extra time, so they allowed us to walk around and we got to experience the super bloom! By Jacqueline Nguyen This April, the California Nevada Hawaii District hosted its annual Key Club District Convention. At this convention, we attended workshop sessions where we heard different stories of different Key of different Key Clubbers from all over the three states, Clubberslearned from allhow over learned how to be a better version of ourselves, states, learned to build confidence, were introduced tothe newthree icebreakers, how towith be athe better found out the right way to design newsletters Kiwanis of oneself, logo, and much more. In the Park Beautification event, we distributed the mulch in the outer areas near the softball fields in Mile Square Park. The way this event impacted me was the realization of the amount of work it takes to maintain and better parks. I was especially sore because I volunteered to do several tasks to fulfill my role as a volunteer and help the community. I definitely have big arms like the Hulk or THANOS after that. This event was also huge due to the fact the head of Kiwanis personally contacted us to help with the event. Overall: Lit – Yoshiki Moromi

The April DCM was very fun. The DLT was announced and we got to participate in many activities like tug of war and dodgeball against the other schools in this division. The activities allowed us to work together and compete for a spirit key. Although we unfortunately lost, it was still an exciting event to participate in. At the end of the event, we got to pie the newly elected DLT and our club presidents. The event was very enjoyable since we were able to spend time with not only one another but other key clubbers as well. – Cindy Nguyen 9
