In December, I volunteered at a very memorable and fun event: the FV Christmas Tree Lighting event. At this event, I got to meet a really cool supervisor. Loading the train and unloading the train was more exciting than I thought it would be and being able to do it with my friends was even better. I was able to distribute jobs to my friends and take on a leadership position, which was really fun and surprising since it was a Key Club event and I’m only a member. Besides volunteering, that night my friends and I also got to see the fireworks, which was very pretty and fun. Lastly, we even got to ride the train before we went home. It was one amazing day and I would love to go again next year. - Wilson Ly

Conclave was a great new experience for me!! I was able to see new people and listen to them speak about all their great accomplishments for key club. It was inspiring to see so many people my age be able to gather to confidence to speak in front of a crowd of people. It was also a great change of setting since it was much more professional than any event I’ve been exposed to before. I was also glad to be able to support my friends there as well! It overall was an enjoyable experience and I hope to be able to attend again next year. - April Quach

I attended the Ice Skating Social with Kiwins’s on Saturday, December 28th and it was really fun! I didn’t know how to ice skate, but some of my friends and even some of the board members helped me out. But the best part about the social was meeting people from Kiwins’s and making new friends! This event got me closer to other Key Clubbers which made this event even more memorable for me. I fell a lot of times and ended up with more than one bruise, but it’s something I would love to do again sometime. I hope there will be more opportunities to go just have fun and socialize with other Key Clubbers soon! - Anh Vu

This year, I attended my first Rose Float Decorating event. At the event, my group was first assigned to dump water buckets and organize viles. Then, we were given a job inside which mostly involved cleaning around the floats and making sure the inside of the venue was presentable for judges. Although we spent most of the time waiting for jobs, I still had a great time bonding with my fellow key clubbers and was quite amazed by the beautiful floats. - Julianne Trinh

The Super Warrior run was fun to say the least. Initially we believed the event would be boring because we came a little late and thought we wouldn’t have anything to do but it turned out to be very enjoyable. Our group got to set up a couple of booths and helped around wherever we were needed. I got to meet a lot of new people and got to talk to a lot of families about their experiences dealing with cancer. My favorite parts of the day had to be cheering for the runners at the end of the marathon because I got to give out a bunch of medals to the runners and when our club got to take pictures with the pink power ranger. Overall, I very much enjoyed going to the event despite it being at 7 in the morning and hopefully I get the chance to do it again. - Brandon Tran

For our January DCM, our division was able to host a karaoke event with both Division 4 West and Jet Kiwin’s, which was extremely fun since we were able to bond with both Key Clubbers and Kiwins. It was a very unique event, as we have never had a karaoke event, and it was even more fun than expected! Not only were we able to sing and hang out, but we were also able to participate in a very fun service in which we made hygiene packs for the homeless and sent them kind messages. Clubs also sold good food at the event which just made it all the better. This event was a very fun and unique one, and if our division hosted another “K-Chella” I would definitely attend again! - Joleen Nguyen
