CAREERS LRSFC ISSUE 17 4TH DECEMBER 2020
AND PROGRESSION
CAREERS COMMENT What great news, vaccines are on their way! Perhaps some relief is around the corner for many, but somehow, I don’t think it will be that easy. Yes, the Government plans to roll out vaccination programmes from next week, but complex activities like this need to be thought about, planned and approached in a logical, step-by-step way if they are to be successful. After all, we don’t want a haphazard distribution of support that misses the most vulnerable in society, do we? Careful thoughts need to address what is needed and how best to get there, for the benefit of the many. I wonder does this ring any bells? To regular readers of the Careers eMag, you might recognise the mantra that approaching big decisions in a haphazard way often leads to haphazard results, and that goes for planning YOUR future, too. If you haven’t already done so, instead of a haphazard approach, we want you
to spend some of the down-time over the Christmas period reflecting on what you would really like to progress on to when you leave college next year, think about how you can get there, and put together a plan that increases your chance of success. Perhaps the articles and links in this eMag will help you decide? On a lighter note, all those budding artists out there who have always wanted to see their efforts on the front of a publication, check out our competition on page 4. It would look great in a portfolio, or perhaps provide you with great content to discuss in an interview if your entry proves successful! Good luck, and we wish the NHS every success with their vaccination plans too.
