JOBURG HOSTS NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
crime and political killings among others.” The purpose of the prayer meeting is hence significant because “prayer is a necessity for our country, we need prayer, because prayer is the power of each and every country, and each and every government of this world,” said the leader of Gospel Ministries, Apostle Dr Ralekholela.

On 24 November, thousands of worshippers gathered at the FNB Stadium 2018 National Day of Prayer. More than 30 churches and faith-based organizations filled up the FNB Stadium to more than 60 000 attendants. President Cyril Ramaphosa is said to have attended the prayer event. The event was hosted by the Motsepe Foundation.
T
HE national day of prayer was largely occupied by the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) members, who can be seen with their yellow, green, blue and khaki uniforms. The ZCC has more than 10 million members in South Africa alone. The prayer is meant to pray for unity, peaceful 2019 elections and to pray against crime and corruption in the country amongst many prayer points.
A Book Review
The event was met by many senior leaders of government, businesses, churches and other faith organizations. African billionaire and business leader, Patrice Motsepe, made the following observation in which he tables the problems that need prayer: “We are still battling corruption, unemployment, poverty, gender-based violence, land dispossession, rampant
The need for prayer can however not be overly emphasized because the bible is clear: we need to pray for our nation, leaders and for every man (1 Timothy 2:2). “Things are out [of] control in this country. Women and children are killed every day. People are dying of drugs and politicians are full of corruption,” said Itumeleng Moselane, of the Methodist church. This calls for Christians to continue to pray for peace, especially for next year’s 2019 elections.
“Prayer is a necessity for our country, we need prayer…” Prophet Ralekholela
Our present day pastors have enjoyed a plethora of appreciation and glorification; the likes of which have not been done for the Lord Jesus Himself – I have never heard of Jesus Appreciation Services but have many times participated in Pastor’s Appreciation Services. I don’t seem to find a scripture that approves such a doctrine but I still stand to be disproven. Pastors and church members should be warned; the devil is subtle and beguiling, easily ensnaring the weak heart (Romans 16:18). If you find your appreciation of the pastor is above Jesus – quit such services for your own eternal good. Pastors today enjoy celebrity status like worldly music idols. Believers no longer make room in their hearts for Christ because they are glued to their pastors, such that in some cases the word of the pastor becoming above that of Jesus written in the bible. Today, Jesus has become an end to a means and not the means and the end in itself; and pastors are fuelling this idolatry to the ruin of all. God is clear, He will not share His glory (Isaiah 42:8). This great sin removes Jesus from His rightful position and God will not be silent forever (Psalm 50:21). Let us be encouraged to put Jesus first.
Review: The Rise of The GayGB & The Pink Inquisition

and who are willing to employ measures of disinformation and bully tactics which bear semblance to those of the Soviet Union’s secret police unit (the KGB) and the anti-Christian inquisition of the Middle Ages. The book combines thorough research and biblical insight to help the reader understand the dangers of the homosexual lifestyle and the even greater danger of the Church’s indifference to the growing tide of demands from the homosexual rights lobby. After reading the book, the reader will be equipped with the knowledge that:
“Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?” (Prov. 8:1). Seventeen years after sounding the initial warning through the publication of the ‘The Pink Agenda – Sexual Revolution in South Africa and the Ruin of the Family’, the authors have once again endeavored to call the Christian public’s attention to the threat which the homosexual activist agenda poses to the very essence of society and how rabidly it has evolved since. ‘The Rise of the GayGB and the Pink Inquisition’ peels away at the outer layers of a movement which often masquerades under the guise of victimhood … and what one discovers at the core is a radical element within the homosexual rights lobby with aims to intimidate, silence and prosecute Christians for their beliefs on marriage and morality;
There is no evidence to support the claim that people are born homosexual and cannot change Homosexuality is not an identity but a behavioral choice There are serious health risks involved in homosexual and lesbian activities Granting special rights and privileges on the basis of sexual orientation sets a dangerous precedent for other forms of sexual perversion (e.g. pedophilia) and is done at the taxpayer’s expense Not only does the homosexual agenda pose a threat to freedom of speech and belief, but it aims to redefine the basic building block of society (i.e. the traditional family) and is actively seeking to gain unrestricted access to the schooling system to promote this agenda
In an ever-increasingly liberal society, the cry of wisdom has lost its popularity and those who heed it are at risk of being labeled ‘nonprogressive’ or some similar nomenclature. However, as the light of the world, the cost of the body of Christ yielding to the pressure of an increasingly radical yet subtle homosexual rights lobby far exceeds the transient benefit of being politically correct. We therefore strongly recommend ‘The Rise of the GayGB and the Pink Inquisition’ as an essential tool in informing oneself of the threat at hand and being adequately equipped to respond to it.

Comforting The Broken-Hearted Disciple In the moments leading up to his passion, Jesus said to his disciples that “in this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). That Jesus saw the need to encourage his disciples to “take heart” necessarily implies that those who take up their cross daily and follow Jesus will encounter challenges that dishearten and effectively ‘knock the wind out of their sails’. These challenges can take the form of the diagnosis of an illness or the unexpected loss of a loved one or valuable property or a job (etc.) and they represent a crushing blow to hopes that are often predisposed to the inaccurate belief that Christianity gives us immunity from ‘the problems of the world’. Even when one’s hopes are well-grounded, the perceived denial or the deferral of those hopes often suffices to make the heart sick (Prov. 13:12).
Whilst the sheer resilience of the human spirit can help one bear these blows; a sustained onslaught of blows (which God may permit to try one’s faith and work patience in them) can break the human spirit (Prov. 18:14). And this is where the words of Jesus find many of His disciples… in a state of brokenness… His beautiful words reduced to a platitude and falling upon deaf ears… for the human spirit has been wounded and grown weary… How do you comfort a disciple in such a state?... not with words… but with silence … be there for them, be present, listen to their cry and weep with them, but hold your peace and let it be counted to you as wisdom (Job 13:5) … then in your closet, pray earnestly for them, and allow the real Comforter to work on their heart (Isaiah 61:1,3).
Persecuted Christian ConCourt Reserves Judgment Woman Prevails In Court
In Child Spanking Appeal
A poster that was put through before her acquittal by ACN International, her release was most welcoming for Christians in Islamic States
A Christian woman from Pakistan was charged . for blasphemy 8 years ago on words she spoke against the Islamic Prophet, Mohammed, during an alleged exchange she had with Muslim women over a cup of water in her village. The conversation is said to have gone this way: “I’m not going to convert,” Bibi claimed to have said to the women when they refused to drink after her and pressed her to become a Muslim. “I believe in my religion and in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for the sins of mankind. What did your Prophet Mohammed ever do to save mankind? And why should it be me that converts instead of you?” Standing up for her faith had her confined alone all these years in a windowless prison cell awaiting her death sentence. Blasphemy against Mohammed is a capital offense in Pakistan. Prayers and support for Asia Bibi led to her release in October 2018 after the Supreme Court of Pakistan ruled in her favour. Pakistan remains divided after the release of Asia Bibi, many calling for her to be put to death and others protesting in her favour. Efforts have been mounting to have her exiled to a safer country because of death threats looming over her life. Pray & support the persecuted (Matthew 25:36).

The Constitutional Court has reserved judgment on the case about whether parents should be allowed to spank their children. Last year in October, the South Gauteng High Court ruled that spanking children was unconstitutional. Freedom of Religion South Africa (FOR SA), has battled it out at the court against the State and children's rights organisations against spanking. Reg Willies SC, arguing on behalf of FOR SA, told the full of the highest court in the land that parents should be allowed to apply “reasonable” and “moderate” chastisement on their children. There was a clear distinction between such chastisement and abuse, he said. FOR SA sought to have a high court ruling that outright banned spanking set aside. But the state and a number of civil groups argued in favour of banning spanking. In the state’s papers, Nkosinathi Dladla, legal services director in the social development department, said children should be protected from violence.
“Chastisement of any degree is unlawful, any act that harms a child’s right to be protected from maltreatment, neglect, abuse or degradation is unlawful and unconstitutional. The defence of moderate chastisement is accordingly unconstitutional,” said Dladla. [IOL News]. With regard to disciplining children, the book of Proverbs puts it bluntly; Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him [Proverbs 13:24]. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it [Hebrews 12:11]. It is clear that God has entrusted parents as stewards to raise the little ones in righteousness; Let us therefore not to cede this role to a secular government. We pray the Constitutional Court will reverse the spanking ban.

The Desperate Need for Evangelism Much of the secular world remains unevangelized. There’s a growing need for true evangelism to find root in the world and sweep the nations of this world with the true message of God until Jesus’ Return. Africa is deteriorating in preaching the simple truth of God but spiritualism has overshadowed biblical preaching. Europe has drifted so badly in respecting the sanctity of the church such that in one weekend the same building can be used for a tavern/club the Saturday and then used for a church the Sunday. Jesus won’t return until the true gospel goes to the ends of the earth (Matthew 24:14). Let us put on the whole armour and line-up in the battlefield, blow the trumpet; for the Messiah is Coming!!!
