PUP Demands Immediate Disbursement…
More than one week after the Prime Minister starred in his own little sugar-cane soap opera canef ar mers have still not received their third payment from BSI and all indications are that the opening of the crop season will be delayed once again. Previously slated to start on December 6th, it had been pushed back to December 13th after the Prime Minister committed that funds would have been available this Monday. With that deadline come and gone and the commitment unfulfilled it is highly unlikely that the season will kick off as planned. In addition, farmers continue to suffer from the non-payment of monies which were due to them almost a month ago, on November 8th. were tied when they happened to be at the spot where a gunman picked to get trigger happy. The incident happened sometime just after 6:30 on Tuesday evening at (Continued on pg. 3)
Someone committed an unforgiveable act sometime after three this morning when they climbed on a shed inside the Red Cross compound at the corner of Daly Street and Gabourel Lane
and used a flammable home-made contraption to torch the Belize Red Cross Headquarters. The fire did not destroy the building, but it caused over a quarter million (Continued on pg. 3)
