Matt Burgess dealt with grants to secure equipment and much needed floodlights for winter training, as well as his role as new Under 18s Head coach. Later Noel Sritharan joined the club as the team’s assistant. Jimmy Norris, as well as his role as coach/secretary for our under 11s, also played a vital role in IT support with signing on forms and team apps and James Taylor agreed to be Under 9s coach, saving the team from folding with the assistance of Dean Small. Ably assisted by team secretaries and coaching assistants, we now had the stability needed to run our teams affordably, ethically and responsibly.
As a result, all three teams thrived in their first season. The under 9s added new members and improved immeasurably throughout the season and the under 11s were moved up to a higher age group to increase the challenge, such was their progress. The under 18s also saw success, finishing runner-up in their division, as well as reaching the league cup final, after knocking out two opponents from the division above.
