The Pannónia Golf and Country Club is picturesquely situated in a valley bordering the Etyek wine region, east of the Hungarian capital Budapest. The 18-hole championship course was designed by the prominent Austrian architect, Hans G. Erhardt and opened in 1996. Since then, it has staged many national and international events, including tournaments such as the BMW Golf Cup International and events sanctioned by the European Golf Association (EGA). The elegant clubhouse was designed by famous Hungarian neoclassical architect Mihály Pollack and blends beautifully with the wine-growing scenery. On the course, idyllic lakes serve as obstacles for eight holes. Doglegs provide suspense at holes 9 and 11 and pin placements may also present a challenge at the hilly greens. The immaculately maintained course meets the highest European standards and offers players both a technically challenging, as well as an optically appealing, experience with its combination of vegetation, water hazards and sand bunkers.

Hundred-year-old oaks, poplars and beech trees line the beautiful and challenging course, which features thirteen water hazards, rolling fairways, large bunkers and immaculate greens. As you reach the 18th hole, glimpse enchanting views of the Château-Hôtel, which was built in 1865 by Jean de Dartein, who was inspired by Gaudi’s style, and spot the 19th century hunting lodge, which now serves as the clubhouse. Test every aspect of your game with this top-quality golf course, while enjoying the peace of nature!

LE KEMPFERHOF GOLF ET CHÂTEAU-HÔTEL

Golf Clubs on the Rhine

Le Kempferhof Golf et Château-Hôtel is located 15 minutes from Stras bourg in the beautiful Alsace region of France and stretches across 85 hectares of tranquil, natural woodland. The Kempferhof Golf Course is listed as one of the top five golf courses in France, as well as one of the fifteen best courses in continental Europe by the Rolex World’s Top 1000 Golf Courses Guide. The 18-hole course was designed by the American architect, Robert von Hagge and opened in 1990.

The Velderhof Golf Club extends over an idyllic and tranquil lowland surrounded by extensive forests. It is conveniently and centrally situated about thirty minutes from both the historic city of Cologne and Düsseldorf. The Club‘s main feature is its championship course, designed by golf architect, Dieter R. Sziedat, which provides suitable challenges for players of all handicap levels. The 27 holes stretch over three courses, with 9-hole and 18-hole options. The golf course follows the ancient lines originally carved into the landscape by the legendary Rhine River. It features fast greens, wide fairways, well-placed fairway bunkers, and exciting water hazards, all surrounded by picturesque streams and biotopes. The Velderhof Golf Club is generously laid out and all facilities are kept in peak condition. The driving range features brand-new grass tees which extend over 2,500m² in front of the range. Combining modernity with history, the range retains the charm of the original architecture of the former barn and fits harmoniously with the historic ambience of Velderhof.

Golf Clubs on the Danube

Set in the UNESCO World Heritage Region of the Lorelei Valley, in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley between Koblenz and Mainz, the resort boasts a majestic setting. The golf course is nestled between forests and vineyards, situated on the Jakobsberg in Boppard. The 18-hole golf course was established in 1990 and opened in 1994. It was built by Wolfgang Jarsombek, who based his design on a model by the renowned American golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course serves as a third-level tour venue and has hosted several German PGA events. The strongly modelled fairways each feature four different teeing grounds, large bunkers, a good number of water hazards and rolling greens. The course is sporting but fair and you may find that your greatest golfing challenge at the Jakobsberg Golf Resort will be not to get distracted by the spectacular natural surroundings and the panoramic views of the legendary Lorelei Valley, Marksburg Castle and the Westerwald and Hunsrück Hills.

JAKOBSBERG GOLF RESORT

GOLF CLUB ST. LEON-ROT St. Leon-Rot was opened in 1997 and is situated near Heidelberg; it sets a benchmark for other clubs. The complex was masterminded by the founder Dietmar Hopp and boasts two 18-hole championship courses, a 9-hole executive course and a children’s course. The English golf course architect, Dave Thomas, designed the St. Leon course as a links-style course, reminiscent of Scottish or Irish golf courses. It became famous in 2002 when the world’s number one player, Tiger Woods, won his third Deutsche Bank SAP Open there. The Rot Course was designed by architect Hannes Schreiner, who retained much of the original river wetland, ensuring that the course offers not only charming scenery but also presents special challenges. The island green of the Rot Course and the fairway of the St. Leon Course are the signature holes of the club. The Golf Club is one of the “Leading Golf Courses in Germany” as well as one of the “European Tour Destinations” (since 2012).

PENATI GOLF RESORT

Fontana Golf Club’s Championship Course promises an unforgettable golfing experience. Situated about 30 kilometers south of Vienna, the golf course is set in a lush natural setting and offers views of the Schneeberg, Lower Austria‘s highest mountain, and the foothills of the Viennese ConceptualizedForest.bythe well-known Canadian architect, Doug Carrick, the layout and design of the golf course provides players with a worldclass, international golfing experience that is both challenging and fair. The course opened for play in 1996; from 2006 to 2009 it hosted the European Tour in Austria and has since been considered one of the best golfing locations in Austria and Europe. Due to constant improvements and renovation, the Fontana Course is expected to become one of the top ten courses in Europe. The exciting 18-hole course will challenge players with its numerous bunkers and water hazards, combined with some easier holes to give a satisfying, well-rounded experience.

QUELLNESS GOLF RESORT/BECKENBAUER GOLF COURSE

The Lengenfeld Golf Club is picturesquely situated in a UNESCO World Cultural Landscape in Lower Austria, just a 10-minute drive from Krems. It offers an unforgettable golfing experience amongst the terraced vineyards, giving golfers beautiful views of the romantic forests and the Kamp Valley. The club, with the motto ‘‘golf at its finest,’’ was founded in 1993 by Otmar Gschwantner; and extended renovated in 2007. It includes a 36-hole course, which is divided into the 18-hole Kamptal Course with par 71 and the 18-hole Donauland Course with par 72. While the hilly terrain and many water hazards of the Kamptal Course allow long tees, the Donauland Course presents a more athletic challenge with its slanted areas and narrow first nine fairways. A specialty at Lengenfeld Golf Club is the Golf Vinarium where each tee is assigned an Austrian grape wine variety, turning the course into an educational wine trail that ends at the clubhouse. The practice area offers golfers a driving range with 40 range tees, practice bunkers, and a putt and pitch area.

Situated at the foothills of the majestic Bavarian Forest, the Regens burg Golf and Country Club is a handsome estate, complete with a clubhouse dating back to 1885, which was a former hunting lodge of the Counts of Thurn and Taxis. The club first opened in 1966 with a temporary 4-hole course. In 1968, famous golf architect Donald Harradine designed a 9-hole course, which he extended by another nine holes in 1981. In 2000, the course was modernized by Thomas Himmel, who ensured that it meets modern playing requirements. However, the course’s distinctive English parkland character, which it retains, is the work of Harradine. The grounds boast trees of up to 300 years old and offer spectacular views of the Danube Valley. The undulating terrain and its water hazards present both a challenge to players as well as a feast of natural beauty. Among the Club’s achievements is its membership as one of the Leading Golf Courses of Germany.

The Penati Golf Resort is nestled in the Zahorie region of western Slovakia, not far from the town of Senica. The resort offers two 18-hole courses — the challenging Legend Course, which opened in 2012, and the Heritage Course, which opened in 2013. The Legend Course stretches over 95 hectares and was created by Nicklaus Designs, a company founded by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus and considered one of the world’s leading golf course design firms, with 60% of the world’s PGA tournament-hosting golf courses to their name. This course offers golfers swelling fairways, challenging bunkers, and variable teeing placements, which allow golfers to control the difficulty level of their game. The signature holes of the Legend Course are the 716-meter 15th hole, which is the longest in Europe, and the final hole, which is also the narrowest that plays onto a beautiful island green and will undoubtedly provide an exciting finish to the game. The second 18-hole course, the Heritage Course, was designed by Jonathan Davison and the world-renowned Mick McShane; it returns the golfer to the roots of island-designed courses.

Picturesquely situated in the peaceful Bavarian countryside, the Quellness Golf Resort features the distinguished, 18-hectar Becken bauer Golf Course, a championship course designed by renowned golfer Bernhard Lange. This exclusive course is one of the select few to host PGA European Tour events, specifically the Challenge Tour, which was held here from 2013 to 2015. In addition, in 2015 and 2016, the Beckenbauer Golf Course hosted the Porsche European Open, and in 2017, it was the venue for the Paul Lawrie Matchplay. The course has been praised by some of the world’s foremost players for its technical challenges and its impeccable condition. The flat but varied terrain incorporates a multitude of water hazards, including streams, flood plains, and lakes, and compels golfers to play a precise game. Holes 9 and 18 provide the opportunity for particularly spectacular shots onto island greens. The hand-mown greens and fairways remain in top condition even in the height of summer.

Located on the grounds of the Château du Champ de Bataille, a castle in Upper Normandy in France, this woodland championship course is set in an exceptional natural and historical environment. It was designed in 1990 by the American architect Robin Nelson, and the French landscape gardener Thierry Huau, who was responsible for ensuring that the natural beauty of the area was retained.

CHAMP DE BATAILLE GOLF CLUB (OPTIONAL)

BARRIERE DE DEAUVILLE GOLF CLUB

Set above the cliffs of Étretat with a spectacular view of the English Channel and the magnificent, wave-cut arches of the famous cliffs and the charming village below, the Étretat Golf Club is considered one of the three best French seaside golf courses. The club, which is over 100 years old, was created in 1908 from British people who came to spend the summer on the French coast. The first president was Bernard Forbes, 8th Earl of Granard. The original 13-hole course was designed by Julien Chantepie and Arnaud Massy (the only Frenchman to have won the Open). The club closed during WW II, but reopened in 1949 after the landmines had been cleared. Didier Fruchet revised the layout in the 1990s and today the resort extends over 6,000 meters. The 18-hole course will test every facet of players’ games, particularly with the exciting sequence of holes at the back nine, between the 10th and the 14th, where the fairways run along the cliff edge.

Ranked among the top 25 finest golf courses in France, the Champ de Bataille Course stretches across 370 acres of historic forest and parkland. The course was designed to follow the natural valleys and water hazards of the estate, featuring centuries-old trees, lakes, and impressive clusters of rhododendrons. The narrow woodland course and the natural water hazards require skill and concentration, offering golfers plenty of technical challenges. The natural beauty of the course may also challenge golfers’ concentration, particularly in spring when the rhododendrons are in full bloom!

Golf Clubs on the Seine AIGLE COURSE OF LE GOLF NATIONAL

GOLF D’ÉTRETAT

Situated on the heights of Mont Canisy, just outside Deauville, the Barrière de Deauville Golf Club opened in 1929 and is considered one of the most beautiful golf courses in France. It’s three 9-hole courses were designed by architects Tom Simpson and Henry Cotton, and feature a mix of tree-lined open parkland holes that stretch across rolling terrain. This is a genuine championship course which has hosted the French Open, the Ebel Match Play and the Air France Madame, as well as players such as Gary Player, Tony Jacklin and Peter Fowler. It offers stunning views of the sea and the surrounding Normandy countryside, while presenting technical challenges that will test even experienced players, particularly on the par 36 Cotton’s Bleu Course, which is characterized by its green speed and many bunkers. Simpson’s 9-hole Rouge Course fits well with the 9-hole Blanc Course, in addition to the Bleu Course. From the Blanc Course, usually played as the back nine, golfers can enjoy stunning views over Deauville.

D‘ÉtretatGolf©

Situated near the renowned Palace of Versailles and just 25 kilometers from the Eiffel Tower, this is a club no golf enthusiast should miss. Le Golf National was created to be the permanent home of the Open de France and was inaugurated in 1990. The course was the home to the Ryder Cup in 2018. Its three courses were designed by golf architects Hubert Chesneau and Robert von Hagge, who transformed the initially flat landscape into one of France’s most popular and iconic golfing destinations. The 18-hole Aigle Course has a traditional links style feel to it and features sloping fairways, meticulously manicured greens and flowing roughs. While the course does not have many of the typical lake water hazards or bunkers, the contoured fairways can be deceptive and the course is sure to offer challenges for golfers of all handicap levels.

Situated near the popular coastal town of La Grande Motte known for its characteristic pyramid-shaped buildings, Golf de la Grande Motte lies on the western edge of the Camargue region in southern France. This championship course was established in 1987 and was designed by the highly respected and prolific English-American golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Sr. No less than 42 holes await visitors to the estate, which stretches over 90 hectares and features lovely umbrella pines, poplars, and extensive water bodies.

ALBATROS COURSE OF LE GOLF NATIONAL Le Golf National was founded in 1985 and is situated southwest of Paris in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, near the Palace of Versailles. Designed by architects Hubert Chesneau and Robert von Hagge as a permanent home for the Open de France, the complex features the championship Albatros Course, often considered as one of Europe’s Extensivebest.renovations have taken place on the Albatros since it was chosen as the host venue for the Ryder Cup 2018. Players can expect a course that offers plenty of risk and reward situations, with pitching fairways and links-style bunkers, while looking forward to the challenging water hazards that surround the final four holes. The course masterfully combines a “traditional links” feel with the modern features of target golf.

GOLF DE LA VALDAINE (OPTIONAL)

A course full of character, sufficiently long in the middle of the beautiful wine region of Burgundy. The course features nine lakes and numerous snow-white large bunkers and offers a challenge for golfers of all levels. Players should not miss this quality course with its exquisite natural beauty, technical challenges and beautiful views of the surrounding Burgundy landscape.

The 18-hole course features hilly fairways, olive groves, lakes, and two huge island greens. Since its opening in 1989, it has been considered one of the finest golf courses of the region. This golfing jewel of the Provence will delight and challenge players of all handicap levels.

The Domaine de la Valdaine enjoys an idyllic location in the heart of the Drôme Provençale region amid its famous lavender fields, and only 5 km from the town of Montélimar, the “home of nougat”. The Valdaine Estate, extends over more than 76 hectares of lush greenery, has been landscaped around the two towers of the Château du Monard, which is now a hotel. The 18-hole course was designed by the English golf course architect Tom McAuley and opened in 1989.

Players of all levels will be able to test themselves on the immaculately maintained course while soaking up the Provençal sunshine and breathing in the delicate perfume of lavender.

GOLF DE SERVANES

A stream and other water hazards have been cunningly integrated, along with relatively small greens, requiring dexterity and precise shots from golfers.

The Golf de la Bresse is located just an hour from Lyon and Geneva, near Bourg-en-Bresse, the charming commune in the Rhône-Alpes region. Its 18-hole course stretches across more than 90 hectares of unspoiled nature. Designed by the renowned French architect Jeremy Pern, one of Europe’s leading golf course architects, the La Bresse Golf Course is set in a tranquil rural setting, surrounded by forest and agricultural land. Relatively flat, the course makes good use of the natural terrain featuring alternating open and wooded areas with various water hazards, especially at the 11th and 12th holes. Trees increase the challenge on the second nine-hole loop, specifically on the par-5, 18th hole with its lovely avenue of large oaks. Golfers visiting Golf de la Bresse will be beguiled by its tranquil rural charm, while at the same time meeting with many surprises and challenges despite the course’s apparently straightforward nature.

In addition, Domaine de la Valdaine offers its guests the opportunity to sharpen their skills on the driving range (22 tees, 12 of which are covered), as well as on the putting greens and practice bunkers.

At the foothill of the Alpilles Mountains in southern France, the Golf de Servanes Club, nestles against white cliffs and is redolent with the perfume of Provencal thyme and lavender. The course is ideally located ten minutes away from the medieval village of Les Baux-deProvence, and Saint Remy-de-Provence, where Van Gogh painted his “Starry Night”. Golf architects Thierry Sprecher and Gery Watine took full advantage of the natural features of the region to create a scenic course with a mix of parkland and woodland areas that snakes around the rocky hills of the Alpilles.

GOLF DE LA GRANDE MOTTE

The 18-hole Flamants Roses (Pink Flamingo) Course extends over fairly flat and open terrain, which has been expertly molded to provide a Florida-style seaside golf course feel with plenty of water hazards. In addition to the Flamants Roses Course, the club houses the par-58 Goelands Course and the 9-hole Mouettes Course.
