Тhe authors compare the educational and professional choices of two cohorts of young people in Latvia, their view on the prestige of occupations, and reasons for choosing a certain career path. The research provides a unique and symbolic bridge in youth research covering more than 45 years period.
According to the findings of researchers, young people adopt the concepts about the labour market demand and prestige of professions from their closest family circles, i.e., parents, friends, and relatives, in the most cases.
