Welcome. Make yourself at home. Kia ora! Writing the forward for this catalogue always results in a period of contemplation and reflection. Our lives are becoming increasingly busier and it’s not o�en you find time to sit and think about the year past and what could happen in the year ahead. In our last edition, my forward included a selection of major events that had taken place in the past 10 years. I touched on how through these trials, we have seen incredible resilience and determination in our clients…. I had no idea what lay ahead. 2020 was a year that no one predicted, and one most would like to forget. You don’t need me to say it was ‘unprecedented’ and I’m not going to explain how we ‘pivoted’ but much rather, I’d like to write about the old adage of ‘there is a silver lining in every cloud’ because as we peel back the layers, we see that it’s as true today as it ever was. Since Covid first reached our shores, we have spoken to literally thousands of people and have heard some incredible and inspiring stories. Accounts of strangers helping one another, people assisting in roles for free, people finding what is truly most important to them, stories of reconciled relationships. And this is what I feel is the greatest gi� from 2020, because when the chips are down, we quickly realise what is most important in life; Family, friends & loved ones. We realise the strength delivered in asking, ‘are you ok’, we realise the reassurance shared in a smile, we realise the encouragement found in saying thank you and we realise that we count on others and others count on us. The selfless care for others that you displayed throughout 2020 and in your roles every day since, provides our team with great inspiration and motivation. From day to day, there are some roles in this industry that aren’t front and centre in everyone’s mind but it’s been the combined efforts of the whole sector which have shown the depth of care and compassion that lies within, par excellence. So again, I’d like to finish by saying that through thick & thin and come what may, the team at Vendella are here to support you and help when you need us. Who we are. Vendella Group This is the parent company providing the direction behind our four brands. Vendella Group is founded on and lives by six core values which are at the heart of everything the company does and stands for. Our values provide us with a benchmark for all our decisions affecting everything from forecasting, to recruitment, to purchases to partnerships. Vendella Guest focuses on fulfilling the needs of the accommodation sector. Servicing this wide sector sees us touching base with over 7500 accounts across the South Pacific and beyond. We have built strong relationships right across the spectrum which includes everyone from Resorts & Hotels, Motels & Holiday Parks, to Student Accommodation and Government Departments.

Vendella Care provides much needed support to the Health Care sector. Under this brand we work alongside clients in Hospitals, Aged Care & Hospice facilities, through to the wider General Healthcare sector. Within the Care sector, we are met with many unique and diverse challenges which is where we see our team really thrive.

Vendella Supply has a focus on the more commercial side of our related industries. Supply focuses on the needs of clients like commercial laundries, third parties, specialty suppliers who have unique or particular requests. These demands include things like bulk shipments, customised or unique products, high stock levels and short lead times along with a high expectancy for consistency.

And because thousands of people enjoy our product every night, we field requests from fans all over the world, wanting our product. Vendella Home is our direct-to-public sector from which we can help members of the public bring their superior sleeping experience into the comfort of their own home. Overnight Pace Overnight delivery nationwide to any metro area using NZ’s most reliable courier company, NZCouriers ensures you’re not caught short! Some RD addresses are exempt. Because this option is specialist we do need to charge costs here. Pricing can vary – the best way to get a clear cost is to get in touch with us via phone or email.

Rural Run There’s no stress if you’re a little further out. Our courier companies cover your RD address but please allow 3-4 working days for delivery. Most importantly, our rural freight still doesn’t cost you anything!

Furniture Freight We have a network of furniture movers ready to ship goods of all sizes, even into the Pacific Islands (this takes a little longer - if timing is crucial please let our service team know). Furniture delivery is free to most main centres. This is based around trucking routes and is variable. So please check when placing your order. Please note, some furniture is made to order, which means we can’t take returns.

Sustainability. What it means. “A Relationship, Project, or Approach that can be maintained at the current or proposed rate or level for a sustained length of time” At Vendella, we talk about sustainability as a three-legged stool. Without all three legs, the stool is unstable and hazardous - We apply this theory to our own Sustainable journey. Sustainability can have different meanings to different people in the context of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). Our way to look at this is through the concept of the Triple Bottom Line — People, Planet, and Profit. Under this approach, we look for a balanced approach to our long-term social, environmental and economic objectives. In 2019 we completed our first CSR rating via the global benchmarker, EcoVadis. They have scored over 65,000 companies across 200 industries throughout 160 countries. We achieved a Silver scoring which placed us within the top 25% of businesses globally and has invigorated us to look for more ways to make Vendella even stronger.

Weavers Sheet Selection. With a 50% cotton, 50% polyester blend Weavers offers the best of both worlds. It’s durable, wrinkle resistant and, once laundered, a more enduringly luxurious and white sheet than its cotton-rich cousins. It’s a common misconception that you can tell the quality of sheets by touching them when ‘fresh from the pack’. However it’s not that simple. Sheets are a good quality if they feel better after every subsequent wash. As an example, the 220 thread count Weavers sheeting has a pre-wash stiffness. However after subsequent washing it will have a far softer feel and provide night after night of luxurious rest.. Cotton sheeting naturally has a softer and more supple feel than blended products. However, as it creases easily, it requires constant ironing and, as it doesn’t tend to be as strong and won’t last as long. It can become considerably more expensive than first thought. Our Weavers sheeting is durable, wrinkle resistant and quicker to launder than cotton rich sheeting. It stays luxurious and white and is generally more cost effective. How important is thread count? Yes, thread count (TC) is important. However the weight of the individual threads, as well as the number of warp and weft weaves, must also be taken into account. All of these factors incrementally combine to determine the durability and comfort levels of the sheet.

Weavers sheeting has been crafted specifically for the accommodation industry – making it ideal for New Zealand’s hotels, motels, lodges and other establishments. It’s also why discerning buyers in other industries and in private homes often approach us with purchasing requests. They recognise the difference Weavers makes on a daily (and nightly) basis. Our Weavers 220TC offers a robust thread (155gsm). A firm yarn and tighter weave makes the weave compact and durable. Following multiple washes it will soften but maintain its luxurious appearance. Before you make the bed… make the time to pre-wash your sheets. Just the FAQ’s I don’t have an account, what do I do?

How long will it take to get here?

We do not demand an account application before processing orders and will probably have your address details available. Otherwise it’s just a matter of filling in the important contact information – a quick and simple process. Either way, your order can be processed immediately and your products sent.

We take pride in getting our products to you as quickly as possible. For South Island delivery this means just one day (excluding rural delivery). The North Island delivery time is two days (excluding rural delivery). These times may alter if the item has to be constructed, or if items are out of stock.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Are you really a ‘one stop shop’?

No. We will dispatch orders of any size, large or small. You make the order – let us take care of the rest.

Yes! On the off chance we can’t source the item you desire we’ll lead you in the right direction. After all, we’re here to help.

What will the freight charge be?

Are your products always in stock?

We do not charge freight on any order except for larger items to rural areas (such as beds, furniture etc). If this occurs you will be notified before any goods are shipped. Every invoice carries a $4.95 in-house handling fee (excluding back orders).

We carry almost the entire range in stock and can also access large amounts of other product options not featured. If you can’t find the item you need, just ask. We’ll take care of it.

Can I order samples? Yes you can. All samples are charged unless otherwise notified. Credits for returned samples are then issued once we get them back, provided they are returned in the condition they were sent. Which leads us to our next question…
