Can you tell us about the inspiration and story behind the Skin Novels brand?
The inspiration behind Skin Novels started with a personal journey. The founders, Gabriel Ciordas & Ioana Firezar, were searching for 100% natural, premium products that met their needs, but they couldn’t find anything on the market that satisfied them. This unmet need sparked the creation of Skin Novels. From the very beginning, they dedicated themselves to meticulously crafting products for their own use and for their families, collaborating with experts to perfect the formulations. This process was fueled by a deep passion and a desire to share the exceptional quality they created with others.
What makes Skin Novels truly unique is our holistic approach to self-care. We believe skincare should nourish both the body and the soul, which is why each product is accompanied by a poem from a local artist, offering a moment of reflection and connection. The name

At Skin Novels, our commitment to 100% natural ingredients is the foundation of everything we do. We’ve built our approach around three core pillars: great fragrance, uncompromising quality, and a holistic touch that sets us apart.
Fragrance is where we start because we know how much it matters to our clients. That’s why we use only premium essential oils, completely avoiding synthetic perfumes. The result is a luxurious, natural fragrance that’s not only delightful but also supports your well-being.

When we see a need, we dive into experimenting in our atelier, trying out different ideas. We have a trusted formulation expert who ensures everything we create is safe and effective, and our product manager, Ioana Firezar, has an incredible talent
for knowing when something is going to be a hit. Sometimes, her instinct makes the process move quickly because she just knows it’s right.
Once we’ve got the formula down, we turn to packaging and storytelling, making sure everything aligns with our vision. We’re fortunate to collaborate with talented artists who add a special touch, such as crafting the poems that accompany our products.
Finally, we bring the product to life and launch it, always eager to hear what our clients and partners think so we can continue to improve.
Are there any unique or innovative ingredients or technologies you use in your skincare products that set you apart?
Absolutely. Our portfolio is crafted for those who truly appreciate luxury and quality. We’ve
incorporated distinctive ingredients like colloidal gold and silver, 24K gold, and amber into some of our products to deliver an extraordinary skincare experience. We believe in keeping our ingredient list simple and purposeful—nothing unnecessary, just nourishing elements that benefit both the skin and soul. This focus on using premium, effective ingredients while maintaining a straightforward approach sets us apart in the skincare world.
What are some of your most popular products, and why do you think they resonate with your customers?
The “Exfoliate” solid soap stands out as a customer favorite, thanks to its invigorating cinnamon and coffee scent and its effective exfoliating properties. Customers love how it leaves their skin feeling refreshed.
Another popular product is our 100% natural body oil, “Silky Drops,” which resonates with customers for its gentle, nourishing formula that works beautifully on all skin types. More recently, our “Silky Drops” cleansing gel has quickly become a bestseller. Its pure and gentle formulation, which also serves as an effective makeup remover, has made it a go-to choice for those seeking a versatile and skin-friendly cleanser.
I think these products resonate with our customers because they’re not just looking for 100% natural skincare—they’re also seeking a story that differentiates the brand and makes them feel good about themselves while ensuring they’re using something exceptional in terms of quality.
What does your personal skincare routine look like, and how do skin novels products fit into it?
I believe in simplicity, yet I understand the longterm benefits of a dedicated skincare routine. A figure who has always inspired me is Estée Lauder. Her mission to encourage women to invest just a few minutes each day in their skincare revolutionized how we think about routines. I’ve taken that philosophy to heart and adapted it to create my own ritual.
As for my own routine, it’s straightforward but effective. In the mornings, I start with the “Regenerate” wash gel in the shower. Its fresh fragrance of exotic verbena is the perfect way to refresh and wake up. I cleanse my face morning and evening, and because I have sensitive skin, I rely on our “The Innoscent” cleansing gel, which is specially formulated for all skin types. After cleansing, I make sure to apply serum and face cream to keep my skin hydrated and protected.
Evenings are my time for a little extra pampering. I like to exfoliate my skin with our “Exfoliate” soap— it’s the best exfoliator I’ve ever tried (and I’m not just saying that because it’s a Skin Novels product; you really should try it!). I follow up with the “Silky Drops” body wash gel, and then I apply the body oil with the same name. This routine leaves my skin
feeling nourished and prepares me for a restful night’s sleep.
What exciting projects or new products can we expect from Skin Novels in the near future?
We’re really excited to share that we’ve just launched our 100% natural body cream and conditioner. These products were carefully crafted to meet the high standards of our clients and to complete our offerings for the Horeca industry. Soon, you’ll be able to find them on our website (http://skin-novels.com), beauty shops, and we’re especially thrilled to introduce them in a luxury hotel boutique through a collaboration that means a lot to us.
We’re also working on something we’re particularly passionate about—an exclusive SPA line. This collection is being designed to give you that perfect escape from everyday life, whether you’re at home or at your favorite hotel. Our goal is to bring the luxury and relaxation of a high-end spa right to you, making it easy to indulge whenever you need it most.

As the founder of KrisKemmetinger.com, she shares her journey and insights on how to make travel more eco-conscious while creating memorable experiences. In this interview, Kris opens up about her background, the pivotal moments that shaped her commitment to sustainability, and her advice for travelers looking to make a positive impact.
Could you tell us about your background and what initially drew you to sustainable and ecofriendly travel?
I’ve loved traveling since a young age. During my studies, I lived abroad in various cities and enjoyed learning new languages and immersing myself in new cultures. After that, I worked in the Marketing & Sales Department of several multinational companies. During this time, I continued to travel extensively, but now more for work and often with limited time at each destination.
Meanwhile, I have my own digital content agency and work as a teacher with young people. These two roles combine my passion for social media and travel very well.
I believe it has become increasingly evident that the direction our society has been taking concerning climate issues wasn’t sustainable and can’t continue. Climate issues challenge us all in our daily lives, regardless of where we live on this planet. Therefore, I decided to contribute something beneficial!
Additionally, since having my own little boy, this desire has grown even stronger. I strive to live and travel as sustainably as possible –starting with small actions, such as waste separation, continuing with responsible consumption, choosing eco-friendly means of transportation, and supporting sustainable and ecosocial companies.
What personal experiences or moments in your life led you to prioritize sustainability in your travels?
These experiences were horrifying and happened in two consecutive years. The first was in Athens, where it was 47 degrees Celsius. During our road trip along the coast, we saw multiple wildfires. A local farmer told us it hadn’t rained for over half a year and showed us his parched land. While dining outside at a restaurant that day, it was not only incredibly hot but flakes of ash from the surrounding fires began flying around in the air and covering our food.
The second eye-opening experience occurred in Borneo, far from civilization. We were staying at an island retreat in the South Pacific and took a walk around the small island after dinner. We were shocked to discover mountains of plastic just beyond the neatly maintained beach strips of the resorts. Even during the boat ride to and from the island, we had to stop several times because plastic waste had become entangled in the boat’s engine.
What was the inspiration behind starting KrisKemmetinger.com, and how has your vision for the blog changed over time?
My sister and I travelled a lot with our parents from a young age. I associate travel with many positive aspects and unforgettable family memories from around the globe, which I’ve always loved sharing with others. As a student, I had more time than money for long overseas trips on a shoestring budget. Times have changed, and now, with two different jobs, a marriage, and a newborn, my responsibilities have increased. But my passion for traveling remains the same, and now we view quality time from a completely different perspective. We value time much more, indulge in relaxation and a healthy lifestyle, and enjoy great cuisine and wellness spots for body and soul where we can take a break from everyday life. We’ve already taken our 6-month-old on all our trips and love showing him this beautiful world and all it has to offer.
What tips would you offer to travelers, who are looking to make their trips more sustainable and eco-friendly?
On every trip, there’s a sustainable option! Consider if short-term flights are truly necessary, avoid flights where possible, and prefer trains and local/regional options. Support eco-friendly systems (there’s a huge variety available already) and avoid single-use plastics wherever possible!
What are some myths or misconceptions about sustainable travel that you often encounter and would like to debunk?
In my opinion, it’s not about abstaining from something you love to do but rather about asking yourself if there are sustainable or more eco-friendly options to fulfill your desires and dreams (such as a night/sleeper train ride instead of a flight to your destination) or supporting eco-friendly resorts and travel agencies. You’ll be surprised by the beneficial options that exist when you start searching for them!
How do you approach sustainable travel as a family, and what unique challenges and benefits have you experienced?
Of course, it’s easier traveling alone, instead of having a child in one hand and carrying everything else in the other. But there are excuses for everything! So do what you love now and don’t wait forever. The same goes for family travel. Since having our boy, we definitely plan ahead more, reserve seats, or organize transfers and tours for families.
The goal is definitely to continue doing what we love, and to introduce our little one to this amazing world.
What advice would you give to families who want to start traveling more sustainably?
Especially as a family with small children, there are many different options depending on the budget, such as family hotel organizations in various countries or kids’ workshops offered by non-profit organizations or institutions. These opportunities expose children to flora, fauna, and sustainability at a young age, empowering them to help build a better future and environment. Even camping is a great option, and activities like cleaning the beach together or securing sea turtle nests can be enjoyed as a family and can be very educational.
Can you share some family-friendly ecodestinations that you would recommend to our readers?
As we live in Europe, nearby regions are the most sustainable for us to travel to. We enjoy visiting places like South Tyrol, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, or exploring more of our own country, Austria.
