Unveiling Opulence on Fifth Avenue
Prepare yourselves, New York, for a taste of unadulterated luxury as Chanel, the epitome of timeless elegance, spreads its wings with the grand opening of its first-ever U.S. flagship dedicated exclusively to watches and fine jewelry on the iconic Fifth Avenue. Recently opened in February, the two-story masterpiece at 730 Fifth Avenue is not just another boutique; it's a breathtaking jewel box conceived by the brilliant New York-based architect Peter Marino, a long-standing collaborator of Chanel. Imagine stepping into a golden haven that mirrors the splendor of Chanel's high jewelry workshop at 18 Place Vendôme in Paris.
Inspired by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel's lucky number 5 and her love for art and interiors, this boutique is a tribute to the founder's legacy. Nestled within the Beaux-Arts gilded architecture of the historic Crown Building, built in 1921, the storefront boasts honed and grooved black granite, cast gold bronze screens, and an iron and glass façade that beckons the curious passerby.
Once inside, you're enveloped in a world where black and gold lacquer paneling meets antique wooden lotus bouquets from Japan's Edo Period. The gallery room, adorned with rock crystal "Dream Catcher" chandeliers by Parisian goldsmith Goossens, opens up to two dedicated fine jewelry salons that scream sophistication.
As you journey through the space, you'll encounter the watch salon, leading to a mezzanine floor adorned with custom balustrades crafted from 24k gold framed plates of rock crystal. Here, two more fine jewelry salons, one reserved for private client appointments, await with decorative pieces from Tang Dynasty ceramic camels to a Louis XV desk by Jacques Dubois.
And let's talk collections! The N°5 fine jewelry collection pays homage to Coco Chanel's lucky number, while the Camélia collection weaves the magic of her favorite flower into organic designs. The Ruban collection takes inspiration from satin hair bows, and the Comète collection? It's a celestial celebration honoring stars close to Coco Chanel.
But the pièce de résistance? The exclusive high jewelry collection, "Eternal N°5," curated by Patrice Leguéreau, director of the Fine Jewelry Creation Studio, featuring a diamond necklace and earrings that redefine opulence. And that's just the beginning – the Lion Solaire de CHANEL and the N°5 High Jewelry collection's 55.55 masterpiece necklace will grace the boutique, each piece embodying the essence of Chanel's timeless allure.
This dedicated Watches & Fine Jewelry boutique, a departure from Marino's classic black and white schemes, unveils a side of Chanel that's opulent, lavish, and perfectly suited to house their rare, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces and beloved timepieces. Fifth Avenue is about to witness the epitome of style, sophistication, and the unrivaled allure of Chanel. Get ready to be captivated.

THE SPA Indulge in Luxury
Paris, the city of lights, just got even brighter with the reopening of the newly renovated Dior Spa at Hotel Plaza Athénée. As one of the city's finest hotels, Plaza Athénée has elevated its wellness offerings, showcasing the perfect blend of beauty and well-being in collaboration with the iconic fashion house Dior.
The spa, maintaining Plaza Athénée's original architecture, echoes Dior's aesthetic codes with bucolic scenes in toile de Jouy, a pattern synonymous with the brand. The ambiance is created with pale, natural, warm colors and noble materials like stone and wood, providing an elegant and soothing atmosphere.
Upon entering the spa, guests are greeted by a reception area and a boutique featuring La Collection Privée Christian Dior fragrances,
along with the exclusive spa product range Solutions Professionnelles. The spa comprises five single-treatment rooms and a double suite, a sauna, and a steam room, embodying a holistic approach to well-being through a combination of manual and high-tech treatments.
A notable addition to the spa is the Dior Light Suite, an innovative feature inspired by light therapy. The "Cronos Light," developed in collaboration with Lucibel, aims to resynchronize circadian and chronobiological rhythms, positively influencing overall well-being.
The redesigned Dior Spa emphasizes an intimate and exclusive atmosphere, providing a calm sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle of city life. Despite its subterranean location, smart use of recessed contour lighting and artful arched ceilings create a bright and welcoming environment.
A highlight of the refurbishment is the introduction of three exclusive light therapy treatments: Recharge, designed to awaken body and mind; Recover, a combination of restorative massage techniques and bright lights; and Rest, a pre-bedtime treatment encouraging a restful night's sleep.
Complementing the Dior Light Suite is a relaxation area where guests can unwind preand post-treatment, enjoying fruit juices and herbal teas. Additionally, the spa now features a fitness studio, offering individual training space and classes, including yoga, pilates, and meditation.
Dior's innovative approach extends beyond Paris as the brand prepares to debut its first spa in Dubai atop The Lana, a Dorchester Collection hotel. The 4,305-square-foot spa, set to open on April 15, promises a breathtaking panoramic view of Business Bay, Marasi Marina, and Burj Khalifa. With five single

Unveiling the Wellness Wonders
EMBRACING THE HEAT FOR A HEALTHIER YOU
Step into the inviting warmth of a sauna, where temperatures soar between 150 and 195 degrees Fahrenheit (65 to 90 degrees Celsius), and embark on a journey to discover a multitude of health benefits. Originating from the ageold traditions of Finland and Russia, this therapeutic practice has transcended borders, offering remarkable advantages to people worldwide. Recent scientific inquiries have unveiled a treasure trove of benefits associated with regular sauna use, turning this age-old practice into a modern health phenomenon. Let’s dive into the enticing world of saunas and explore the scientific wonders that lie within.
DETOXIFICATION BLISS AND RADIANT SKIN
In the serene heat of a sauna, your body undergoes a profound detoxification process. Sweating becomes a powerful mechanism for expelling toxins, a phenomenon substantiated by a study published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health in 2011. Researchers Stephen J Genius, Sanjay Beesoon, and Detlef Birkholz found that infrared sauna sessions effectively removed various toxins, including heavy metals, through sweat.
As your body perspires, pores gracefully open, releasing impurities and paving the way for healthier skin. Sauna enthusiasts can revel in improved skin elasticity, texture, and tone. The increased blood flow to the skin stimulates collagen production, contributing to a vibrant and youthful appearance.
HEARTWARMING BENEFITS FOR CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH
Sauna aficionados can take heart in the news that regular sauna use significantly contributes to cardiovascular health. A groundbreaking study by Laukkanen et al., featured in JAMA Internal Medicine in 2015, revealed a striking correlation between frequent sauna usage and a reduced risk of fatal cardiovascular events. Over a span of 20.7 years, the study followed more than 2,000 Finnish men, indicating a nearly 50% lower risk of cardiovascular-related death for those who used the sauna four to seven times a week.
In another enlightening study published in the American Journal of Hypertension in 2017, Zaccardi et al. found that regular sauna sessions led to a notable reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure. This holistic approach to cardiovascular well-being is undoubtedly a heartwarming revelation.
HEAT-INFUSED TRIUMPHS FOR ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE AND RECOVERY
For fitness enthusiasts and athletes alike, the sauna unveils its prowess in enhancing performance and expediting recovery. Exposure to elevated temperatures induces heat stress, a phenomenon explored by Jay et al. in a study published in the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport (2017). Heat acclimation was found to enhance endurance and overall exercise performance, presenting a compelling case for incorporating sauna sessions into fitness routines.
Beyond performance enhancement, saunas facilitate post-exercise recovery by promoting increased blood flow and delivering vital oxygen and nutrients to muscles while flushing out waste products. This dynamic process expedites recovery, alleviating muscle soreness and enabling athletes to swiftly return to their training regimens.
SOOTHING THE SOUL: PAIN RELIEF AND STRESS REDUCTION
Saunas emerge as therapeutic havens for pain relief and stress reduction. The sauna’s radiant heat triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural pain-relieving compounds. This effect extends its soothing touch to conditions like arthritis and chronic pain, providing respite.
The tranquil ambiance of a sauna creates a serene escape, offering a haven for reduced stress and anxiety. Scientifically substantiated by a study conducted by Laukkanen et al. and published in Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice (2018), regular sauna use is associated with decreased stress and an overall improvement in mental well-being.
IMMUNE BOOST: FORTIFYING THE BODY’S DEFENSES
In a surprising twist, sauna use emerges as a secret weapon in fortifying the immune system. As the body’s core temperature
rises, mimicking a fever, the immune system springs into action. This heat-induced process stimulates the production of white blood cells, crucial defenders against viruses and bacteria.
The research by Sutkowy et al., featured in the Journal of Human Kinetics in 2018, underscores that regular sauna use correlates with a higher count of white blood cells, lymphocytes, and monocytes. These findings suggest that saunas play a vital role in strengthening the immune system, offering a compelling reason to embrace this practice for overall well-being.
In conclusion, saunas weave a captivating tapestry of health benefits, ranging from detoxification and radiant skin to cardiovascular health, athletic prowess, and immune system fortification. With a growing body of scientific literature supporting these claims, sauna use emerges not just as a time-honored tradition but as an invaluable component of a holistic health regimen. So, step into the warmth, embrace the heat, and let the sauna unveil its wonders for a healthier, more vibrant you.

THE POWER OF FOOD
By Marci MoreauYou know those times, when you’re feeling a little broken, or as Hemingway said, when the world breaks everyone…Well, I really wish, during those moments, more people believe food plays a huge role in healing.
Putting ourselves back together takes a village of strength, fortitude, and power, and in the best of outcomes, as the words of my friend Ernest conclude, “afterward, many are strong at their broken places.” Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but I surmise, what he really meant to say, is “after food, many are strong at their broken places.”
Especially, after a traumatic experience, food and nutrition, are even more important, because to really heal, our bodies and our minds, have greater nutritional needs. It is during this time, that the
As complicated as all of this sounds, trust me, nature makes it easy for us to right our wrongs with food, and all the latest research supports this. It turns out, it is not only the actual food itself that can nourish and unbreak us, but also the genuine act of eating, and cooking, especially with people we care about, that can jumpstart the healing process. Then, when we add the right foods, it only gets better from there.
My mother, knew how to do this restoring thing quite well, especially when it came to affairs of the heart. In our home, comfort was always found in the kitchen, and we talked a lot about our broken there.
“Asparagus breaks where it wants to.” She would tell me, as I’d watch her bend the stalk, and “snap,” it broke, exactly where it wanted.
“I’ve been searching for ways to heal, and I’ve found food is the best way.”
foods we choose to eat have a great impact on our recovery, and our mental health.
Trauma, any, and all kinds, throws the body, and mind, in a tumultuous state, particularly our digestive system; damaging the villi that line the small intestines, thus creating numerous problems, such as, leaky gut, and increased inflammation for every system in our body. We are then unable to absorb the nutrients the body and mind need to be healthy and happy, and, instead of healing from trauma, the symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress increase.
Additionally, with an unhealthy gut microbiome, the immune system is weakened and there is an increase of physical health problems following trauma. It’s a never ending cycle of suffering, yet I promise you, food can stop the hurt, and help to heal, body, mind, and broken places.
I was mesmerized, so when I needed to decide on a recipe to support the healing process, I knew asparagus was a great place to start.
And although asparagus is the star, from there I add brussels sprouts, and leeks, because all of these foods grace us with prebiotics fibers, folate, and antioxidants, to balance our gut microbiome, reverse the damage from inflammation, increase the production of dopamine, and, ultimately, begin to put ourselves back together.
Including tomatoes with lycopene and sweet peas with tryptophan, help with serotonin production, and to lower the incidence and intensity of depressive symptoms, and, of course, wherever, and whenever, I can, I add the powerful synergy of garlic, ginger root, and turmeric root, to give us pretty much everything else. So if ever you find yourself looking for a way to heal, please look at my asparagus salad first.
Dee’s Asparagus Salad
Makes 8 servings
• 3 lb. asparagus, broken where it wants to
• 1/2 lb tomatoes, chopped
• 2 cups shaved Brussels sprouts
• 1 cup fresh sweet peas, if, in season, or frozen
• 1 leek, sliced thin
• 1/2 cup olive oil
• 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
• 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
• 3 cloves garlic, diced
• 1 teaspoon fresh turmeric root, grated
• 1 teaspoon fresh ginger root, grated
• 1 teaspoon stoneground mustard
• Parmigiano Reggiano, grated, to taste
• Salt and pepper to taste
Rinse all the vegetables and set aside to dry. Break the asparagus, wherever it wants to. Slice the grape tomatoes in half and shave the Brussels sprouts and leeks with a hand held mandoline. Quickly steam the asparagus stalks for about three minutes only to soften but do not cook all the way through. Lay on a platter and top with tomatoes, brussels sprouts, leeks and sweet peas. In a separate bowl mix olive oil, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, stoneground mustard and salt and pepper to taste. Pour mixture over vegetables and let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Top with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano, and watch how everything starts to fall into place.

HEALING HAVEN
A Tale of French Provincial Elegance and Southern Charm in Interior Design
ANNE BURESH INTERIOR DESIGN IS AN AWARD-WINNING, FULL-SERVICE
INTERIOR DESIGN FIRM THAT DELIVERS A PERSONALIZED EXPERIENCE IN CREATING BEAUTIFUL SANCTUARIES. WITH OFFICES IN CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, AND JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING, ANNE BRINGS A PASSION FOR DEFINING EACH
CLIENT’S UNIQUE TASTE TO EVERY PROJECT. HER SIGNATURE STYLE BLENDS
SOUTHERN CHARM WITH TRACES OF A WELL-TRAVELED LIFESTYLE. WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SIT WITH ANNE AS SHE SHARED HER RECENT PROJECT.
Q: Can you provide an overview of the inspiration and concept behind your recent interior design project?
A: When we design, we want to create a feeling; we’re telling a complex story of rich, full lives and want this to be evident in our design. We derived inspiration from the French Provincial aesthetic, drawing on the elegance of the French countryside's subtle ivory and light blue linen palette, creating a blend of contemporary European style and the Southern charm you find in Charlotte.
Q: What were the main challenges you faced during the design process, and how did you overcome them?
A: Our client spent a year receiving treatments at the Mayo Clinic – our greatest challenge was executing a design that reflected this family without having them readily accessible for major design decisions. They had a lot of sentimental items they collected throughout their years of travel that they held very close to them – we allowed these pieces to inform how we moved forward creatively; our team really pulled together to complete this remodel before our client came home.
Q: How did you incorporate the client's vision and preferences into the final design?
A: Our client’s spouse wanted her to come home to a space that not only promoted healing but celebrated the wonderful wholeness of life and enjoyment. Helping create this feeling is our passion – the manifestation of who they are and how they live via design. The softness we created in this space can be seen in the light and delicate color palette of the main living areas. Upstairs, there is a hall bench that overlooks the street where she can listen to the morning songs of the birds and watch the dogs and the kids play – truly enjoy the sweetness of life as she embarked on her healing journey.
Q: Can you highlight any specific design elements or materials key to achieving the desired aesthetic?
A: The kitchen countertop, while Carrera marble, is thicker than a traditional countertop – it’s meant to resemble the butcher block you might find in European kitchens.
The French linen blue of the ceiling established a consistent feel throughout the home.
The back patio was as important as any interior space. In Charlotte, you can enjoy the outside air for so much of the year, and we wanted to create a feeling that life is meant to be enjoyed here. The old-world, Italian-style pizza oven is fully functional, and they love entertaining family and friends with a glass of wine, lounging, and
enjoying southern summer evenings. It is meant to capture the same emotions as the beautiful Italian saying “Dolce far Niente,” or “the sweetness of doing nothing.”
Q: How do you balance functionality and style when creating a space that is both beautiful and practical?
A: An open, bright, and flowing space was important to them. We installed French doors all along the backside of the home to allow natural light to flood the space and keep with the French countryside vibe of the home.
Statement lighting is our go-to for balancing style and function, and there’s a lot of room here to play with different materials and
styles. For example, the dining room chandelier is a show-stopping crystal piece from Visual Comfort. We balanced the visual weight of this with a soft, serene wallpaper and complementary pieces like the accented Hickory Chair dining table.
Q: Were there any unique or custom-made pieces in the project, and if so, can you share the story behind them?
A: The use of the family’s cherished mementos and travel finds was key to the design. On the back patio, next to the pizza oven, we incorporated pieces from his grandfather’s farm, where they were once used to turn butter. From the office to the living room, their travel finds decorate the shelves, each telling their own story or holding a
loving memory. Using these pieces gives meaning to the design far beyond what we would find in a shop.
The range hood and living room fireplace are made of a custom, stone-like material made by an artisan here in Charlotte.
Q: Can you share any innovative or cutting-edge design solutions you implemented in this project?
A: We couldn’t settle on a stain for the back patio ceiling – so we created our own. Mixing several stains until we found one that resonated with us. Every detail has a purpose, and the ceiling is no exception.

THE FUTURE IS FEMALE At This Palm Beach Pop-Up
“CAN YOU NAME FIVE FEMALE ARTISTS?” IS EMBLAZONED ACROSS ONNA HOUSE FOUNDER
LISA PERRY’S T-SHIRT.“I WEAR IT TO BE PROVOCATIVE,” SHE LAUGHS, ALTHOUGH HER ANGELIC SMILE DISARMS ANY PANIC THAT THIS CELEBRATED DESIGNER AND ART CONNOISSEUR MIGHT JUDGE AN IMPERFECT ANSWER.
By Dorian MayThe reality is that top of mind, most people can’t come to five women artists, only Georgia O’Keefe or Frida Kahlo,” she proclaims, “Isn’t that crazy!?” This simple revelation elucidates the essence of what Perry hopes to accomplish at Onna House, a space devoted to creating visibility for the multidisciplinary artwork of females. Even Perry, who along with her husband Richard have been touted as some of the most preeminent global art connoisseurs, admits she was shocked to realize she could only name a few women in their own collections. “We started with 60s pop art and there really are a small number of females in that space so I could count on one hand the women in our collection.” Onna (the Japanese word for woman) House is the catalyst to changing that not only for the Perry’s but the broader aesthete. The original gallery was born during the Covid pandemic in East Hampton, when Perry “rescued” a modernist property
that awakened memories of her childhood home in suburban Chicago. “I wasn’t even sure what I was going to do with it,” she confesses. After closing her eponymously named fashion and design label, Perry craved a return to the daily inspiration germinated from a creative space and knew under this one roof she could somehow marry all her passions of art, architecture, design and helping women. Lovingly restoring the house in a Japanese style served her food for thought as she realized how marginalized and underappreciated the work of female Japanese artisans has been. From there the concept to showcase female creatives exclusively unfolded organically with a spotlight on those working with materials commonly relegated to less recognized genres called craft and “women’s work” rather than art. Perry’s debut curation, blurring these lines, included tapestry, textile, and jewelry and was met with overwhelming enthusiasm for both the artists and the concept.
“Every artist has a story,” says Perry, gesturing to the wall behind her where Amy Dov’s ceramics hang like pendant necklaces, “and so we like the work, and then we meet the artist and hear the story, and we fall in love with the work.”
Realizing the nontraditional gallery could make a tangible difference to women, and Perry knew that she needed to multiply her efforts to provide a platform for this generation of artists, adding more mediums and more artists to the roster at the Palm Beach pop-up. “If we sell one piece of pottery, that can help them pay their studio rent for the month or take time with their kids and give them flexibility and freedom to continue what they are passionate about, so I know we are making a difference.”
Even the playlist at Palm Beach Onna House reflects this ethos, and with Joni Mitchell and Stevie Nicks on repeat, Perry greets the seemingly endless stream of viewers entering the gallery. It is unclear who she does and doesn’t know intimately, immediately dismantling the notion that art galleries must be intimidating and exclusive. The price points intentionally span a broad range in the hopes of making artwork more accessible to a spectrum of clients.
“I think that people walk in the gallery in Palm Beach, and they say, ‘wow, my stress level just went down’ and what they are really saying is that they are waking into a space that is all about the work of women, so they are feeling the hands and hearts of the women. It’s just a vibe, I truly believe that.”

UNABASHEDLY AMY
AN AVID LOVER OF KARAOKE (WITH A CUSTOM-DESIGNED DISCO IN HER PALMBEACH HOME TO PROVE IT), ART COLLECTOR AND PHILANTHROPIST AMY PHELAN USES THE INFAMOUS JOURNEY LYRICS “JUST A SMALL-TOWN GIRL LIVING IN THIS CRAZY WORLD “TO DESCRIBE HERSELF IN HER INSTAGRAM BIO. IT IS THIS SENSIBILITY THAT BOTH GROUNDS PHELAN WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY LIBERATING HER TO RETAIN HER UNABASHED INDIVIDUALITY IN THE ART WORLD NOTORIOUS FOR ITS AFFECTATION.
By Dorian MayIt wasn’t until marrying her husband John and the two began perusing Chelsea art galleries together that Phelan’s innate affinity for collecting was unleashed. This is an art collection built on basic instinct, no not the Sharon Stone kind, but the kind Phelan’s internal radar has, pulling her towards works and befriending her with emerging and established artists. There are not any art advisors involved in the selecting or hanging of more than a thousand works-it is something Amy and her husband passionately pursue together. Phelan characterizes the collection as funny, sexy, sometimes a little dark but always with a sense of humor, which ironically would also be a fitting description of Amy herself.
A warm welcome by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Nick Cave and Mickalene Thomas in the Phelan’s Palm Beach entrance of the STONE/FOX designed home.
A Richard Prince joke painting that reads “My Doctor Told Me to Watch My Drinking. Now I Drink in Front of a Mirror” hangs in the hallway outside the Palm Beach dining room. “As cliché as it sounds – you can’t not laugh, and it’s where everyone wants their picture taken.” The collection, which they rotate between their Aspen and Palm Beach homes, includes works of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jenny Holzer, Marilyn Minter, Lisa Yuskavage, Andreas Gursky, Lawrence Weiner, Jeff Koons, Andy Warhol, Jim Hodges, Thomas Ruff, Tara Donovan, and countless others.
Phelan and her husband have a rule that they don’t buy art for storage, and it must eventually “make the wall”. Even if they are unsure where it will fit into their homes, they trust that the perfect spot will reveal itself in due time. The emotional connection we have with an artwork ultimately outweighs the uncertainty of its placement. This is one of the reasons we re-install as often as possible to highlight as many works and artists at a time as feasible.
The first installation in Palm Beach is what Phelan calls a more “serious” hang, showcasing works that are important both historically and personally. “We wanted to speak to the architecture of the home that took seven and a half years to build and honor it but not distract from it.” In the white living room accented with pinks and gold and flooded with golden light, BE AMAZING! By artist Sylvie Fleury stretches high across a wall ending over two Andy Warhols. Be Amazing’ incorporates elements of light and other materials to create a bold and attention-grabbing statement. Drawn in by the flashy lights but also prompted to reflect on the message, this artwork evoked simultaneous feelings of awe and skepticism. “I appreciate Fleury's commentary on contemporary culture and the pressure to constantly strive for perfection and success,” explains Phelan turning serious. “I was drawn in by the flashy lights but was also prompted to reflect on the superficiality of the message. It is one of the few works I knew exactly where to hang in Palm Beach — and not sure I will ever move it!”
When it comes to fashion, Phelan abides by the Fleury maxim. With an enviable cool girl wardrobe and a bold feminine style of her own, Phelan would never succumb to the recent “quiet luxury” trend. Her statement pieces echo some of the art in her collection.
“I believe that art and fashion are both powerful forms of self-expression,” says Phelan showing me a photo. “The incredible CD Greene made a beautiful dress for me that is covered in what looks like sharp mirror fragments. It is bold and exudes confidence and individuality.” The dress is compatible to the Walead Beshty Cracked Mirror Floor installed in their Aspen home. “I was intrigued by Beshty's exploration of imperfection and the inherent fragility of material objects. I love how the work changes over time, I love how it shocks and surprises our friends and guests, and I love how it is a signature part of our home.”
The couple frequently entertain in both homes with annual Art Crush events in Aspen for the Aspen Art
Museum and recently chairing one of the first-ever amfAR in their Palm Beach events in their home. Always entwined with giving back to the community that brings them so much personal joy, the Phelan’s sit on boards at the Aspen Art Museum, where Amy is a national council member, the Tate North American Acquisitions Committee, the MoMa Contemporary Art Council, and the National Council of the Whitney Museum of American Art to name a few. So, what would a day without art be like for you? “Unacceptable!” Phelan proclaims. “ I cannot stand an empty wall or a day where I do not get to pause before a work and think about what the artist behind it is trying to say or what their work is making me feel. I am blessed to be surrounded by so many of my favorite creatives and cannot imagine anything worse than blank walls. It’s one of the reasons we try and open our homes to as many people as possible – the more people see art and interact with it, the more it meets its purpose.”
A Lawrence Weiner text work re-configured specifically for the outside of the disco when the house was completed.
A dear friend of the Phelan’s, It is installed in different font/colors in their Aspen home.
A theme where they have signature works/artists/meaningful moments across spaces.
CHARLOTTE MOSS
STYLE ICON AND PHILANTHROPIST COLLABORATES WITH IBU MOVEMENT FOR A SECOND COLLECTION INSPIRED BY HER PERSONAL FASHION AND TRAVELS TO MOROCCO
The highly-anticipated Charlotte Moss for Ibu Movement Collection is set to debut in March 2024, marking an exceptional collaboration between two leaders in the worlds of design and social impact. The Moss-inspired collection offers a fresh perspective on style, celebrating the evolution of personal fashion and the timelessness of layered, minimalistic silhouettes.
Drawing inspiration from vintage fashion sketches, travel, and her evolving style, Charlotte Moss has crafted a collection that embraces a refined profile. Charlotte's closet played a pivotal role in shaping this collection, with certain pieces inspired by her own wardrobe, including a stylish pajama pant with a cropped jacket. Charlotte shared her enthusiasm for the new collection by stating,
mented by the exotic touch of Moroccan fabrics, adding depth and richness to the collection.
Moss has also delved into the world of accessories with this collection. Drawing from her love for lariats, she introduces stunning jewelry pieces crafted by Alma Joyeria in Colombia, along with a horn cuff bracelet crafted by Belart in Vietnam. Bags handmade by Mola Sasa and Finatur Designs in Colombia will perfectly complement the mix-and-match pieces. For those seeking warmth and style, the collection offers pashminas, block-printed by Sudarshan in India. Footwear is not forgotten, with three shoe styles inspired by pairs that Moss wears regularly and popularized in her first Ibu collaboration in 2017.
The collaboration seamlessly bridges the worlds of classic and
“A good collaboration is always a great learning experience. The opportunity to work with Ibu on another collection is an honor and a special treat. To start with an idea and see it evolve through the knowledge, expertise, and the hand of others is an amazing opportunity, and it always makes me look at my vintage items with an eye to the possibilities.”
What sets the Charlotte Moss for Ibu Movement collection apart is its deep-rooted Moroccan influence and details. Ibu artisan partner Nawal El Hariti is coordinating artisans in Ourika, Morocco, to handcraft the collection, employing native techniques, which adds a touch of artistry and authenticity to each of the eight styles. Elaborate soutache embroidery with subtle neutral tones, inspired by soft desert florals from Charlotte’s travels across Morocco, adds at times ornate and at other times surprising minimal hand-embroidery to each item.
The collection boasts a versatile array of styles, including caftans, leisurewear coordinates, jackets, skirts, and pants, each offering multiple colorways for endless mix-and-match possibilities. Each garment showcases a new silhouette, introduces new fanciful sleeves, and contributes to a unified collection. The color palette – featuring chartreuse, lavender, rose-garden pink, cream, and sand – is comple-
contemporary fashion, offering curated pieces that resonate with the modern woman's desire for elegance and versatility while celebrating the crafts of global artisans.
To celebrate the Charlotte Moss for Ibu Movement collection, Ibu is hosting two debut events in the spring of 2024. A Night in the Medina will be hosted in Charleston, South Carolina on March 6, 2024, and an opening event at Caspari in Charlottesville, Virginia will take place in April 2024. FLORAL REVERIE
Unveiling the Hidden Canvas of Rachel Morrissey
EXPLORING LIFE, LOVE, AND LUPUS THROUGH VIBRANT
NARRATIVES AT THE COLONY HOTEL PALM BEACH WITH VOLTZ CLARKE GALLERY
Rachel Morrissey created her newest body of colorfully saturated narrative paintings with the Colony Hotel in mind. With BLOOM, Morrissey melds imaginary, strange, and inventive flowers with truthful depictions of Florida’s native fruits and fauna. Using themes of motherhood, mental health, and, more recently, life with Lupus, Morrissey employs organic forms to convey her daily experiences enticingly.
Her diagnosis, although life-altering, was not surprising as she is no stranger to invisible struggles. Lupus, as intense and destructive as it is, is not always visible to the onlooker, just as her plants and flowers appear joyous and full of life, but a subtle tension lurks beneath the surface. Morrissey is fascinated by the way plant forms have the uncanny ability to tell stories and depict emotions through the simplest of gestures. She paints extremely saturated scenes that seduce the viewer, and only after second and third glances do the duplicities of the vegetation emerge. Hidden within the exuberant and joyous scenes are suffocating vines, signs of decay, and unwelcome mutations.
Morrissey envisioned a new world within each canvas for this exhibition, presenting a fresh cast of plants and flowers. She underscores the parallels between the splendor of the Florida coast, which is continually threatened and at risk, with the tantalizing beauty of her original works. Born in the late 80s in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Rachel Morrissey grew up in Connecticut and received her MFA in 2016 from Massachu-
setts College of Art and Design. She earned a Post-Baccalaureate degree from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in 2014 and a BFA in Studio Art from Indiana University in 2009. Morrissey is a mother of two young children and currently lives and works in Medfield, Massachusetts. This is her second show with Voltz Clarke Gallery and her first at The Colony Hotel.
The Colony Palm Beach | Voltz Clarke Gallery Collaboration invites hotel guests, visitors, and locals alike to explore a rotating selection of fine art at the iconic property steps from Worth Avenue and the Atlantic Ocean. A YACHT BUILT FOR PAUL ALLEN, AN ARCHITECT AND ENTREPRENEUR DUO WITH A VISION, AND THE ART OF VIEWING THE WORLD FROM THE “OUTSIDE-IN.”By Katelyn Rutt
When Dee Dee Taylor Eustace received the keys to a 154-foot Feadship yacht from her husband, accompanied by the words, “Here's your next project,” she had no idea she was embarking on a journey to become part of its unique story.
The private charter yacht, Charade, was crafted in 1990 for the late Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Paul Allen and boasts a storied past. It was the luxurious setting for Bill and Melinda Gates' Hawaiian honeymoon, featured the culinary talents of renowned chef Robert Shepard, and welcomed visits from acclaimed musicians before transitioning to the ownership of Joe Lewis. After a dinner with Lewis on board yet another of his fleet, Charade caught the attention of Eustace's husband, Bobby Genovese, sparking a remarkable transformation.
“It was around my birthday in July of 2014,” Eustace recalls. “Bobby and I have been together for 14 years now, and 12 out of 26 collaborative projects have been our own. He’s an entrepreneur and I’m an architect and interior designer, so we’re a great team. Bobby sees from 10,000 feet above and I circle down to how the details come together.”
For the founder of Taylor Hannah Architect Inc. (THA)—a Toronto-based architecture, development, and design firm celebrated for its cutting-edge work in the residential and hospitality sectors—the question wasn't about feasibility but rather about strategy. Eustace boasts a global portfolio, highlighted in prestigious publications, including the New York Times, the New York Post, the Globe & Mail, and the National Post.
Beyond her architectural prowess, Eustace was a familiar face on early HGTV with her Love By Design show, is a 10-
time guest on CBC’s Steven and Chris show, and has enjoyed a trio of appearances on The Oprah Show. Yet, despite her vast experience, the prospect of revitalizing a yacht presented a fresh challenge for Eustace and Genovese.
“THA had one boat under our belt prior to this,” Eustace says. “Being an architect and interior designer, I knew this redesign and refitting would require thinking in the fourth dimension. The complication of Charade was in its layout. It was quite the job.”
The creative recalls a profound sense of responsibility to preserve Charade’s legacy throughout its evolution into BG Charade. “After my marriage to Bobby, we are now DBG,” she says, smiling.
“When you’re tackling a renovation—whether a home, plane, or boat—you always look to its history,” Eustace says. “This craft came with an impressive pedigree, so my goal was to honor its iconic reputation all while bringing it into the ‘now.’”
Among Eustace's architectural reworkings were relocating the dining room to the main salon, creating a deluxe VIP stateroom with
a king-size bed, redesigning the master cabin ensuite to showcase a lavish bathtub, and adding a sixth guest cabin. These modifications have expanded the yacht's capacity to accommodate 12 guests and 11 crew members. Eustace's expertise is apparent in her redesign approach, which also considered the vessel's exposure to the elements.
“You have to be cognizant of the major differences when working with aquatic designs,” Eustace says. “The wood must be marine-grade plywood, for example. There’s layers of safety, longevity, and buoyancy that come with designing for a boat.”
Inspired by beach house design and the yacht’s warm, oyster-hued exterior—reminiscent of a 1990s Feadship—Eustace swapped out the carpet for light gray oak flooring and enhanced the English oak walls with a whitewash finish. Her mastery in both the grand and subtle details that elevate a yacht into a world-class retreat resulted in BG Charade's nomination for the “Top Refit of the World” at the Florence Superyacht Awards in 2016.
“I designed everything,” Eustace says. “From the boat’s interior structure and the exterior decks to choosing the Slim Aarons prints, the bedroom millwork that makes the master cabin feel like a New York penthouse, and the 1973 Karl Springer table we refurbished. I created a custom sheet/towel line, china with our logo, and even the cutlery and napkins in the drawers.”
For the family of six, BG Charade has been the gateway to countless adventures, from the balmy waters of the Indian Ocean and sandy beaches of Nassau to the lemon-speckled coasts of the Mediterranean.
“It truly does feel like we’re watching the world from the outside in,” Eustace says. “There’s a distinct sense of immersion; you’re not just a tourist. You’re eating ingredients the chef has sourced locally, viewing the land from a unique perspective, and fostering a connection to the culture that makes you feel like a part of it. That's the magic of yachting on a vessel with such rich, enduring history—every journey feels like the first, even after nearly a decade of ownership.”
Picture yourself enjoying an exclusive experience aboard this extraordinary yacht. For details, reach out to BG Charade. www.bgcharade.com
Symmetry & Sentiment
CRAFTING FAMILY HARMONY AND NOSTALGIA THROUGH THOUGHTFUL DESIGN
By Madison BaileyOne of the highest compliments an interior designer can receive is a repeat client. That was the case for Traci Zeller when a Charlotte family called on her a second time to design their brand-new home. "Light, airy, and peaceful" are the keywords Zeller uses to describe the essence of her design approach for this project — one that mirrors the stunning, already existing architectural canvas that makes this house a personalized haven. "We design a house based on the family, understanding their lifestyle, preferences, and areas where we can push them aesthetically," Zeller says. "This is a young family of four, so why not maintain that light feeling throughout the entire design?"
Stepping into the Knollwood house is an invitation to experience design that goes beyond the surface, with a palette that exudes calmness and a play between classic elegance and modern simplicity. Traci Zeller Interiors has brought life to the brilliance of Garrett Nelson's architectural design, transforming rooms into purposeful spaces that feel both grounded and weightless. From the butterfly art gracefully adorning the fireplace to the welcoming symmetry of the parallel sled-base sofas, the design choices reflect a meticulous balance — strong enough to stand on their own yet harmonious in the broader context of the room.
Originally intending to embark on the journey of building their dream home from the ground up, Alicia and Jeff Harris had envisioned crafting a residence that mirrored their ideals. However, one visit to the Knollwood house, the brand-new home that stood before them, unveiled a realization. Awaiting the transformative touch of Traci Zeller Interiors — it was the perfect place they had been searching for
In the words of Zeller, the initial task was clear: "reflect where they live and what they like to be surrounded with." Aptly named by the Harris’, this space unfolds a heartwarming story rooted in nostalgia: "They call it the castle room as a nod to the previous home I designed, where their daughter had a cardboard castle in the center, a detail I love.” With the cardboard castle now replaced, a large round table, able to seat up to eight, takes center stage, becoming a focal point for gatherings and fostering intimate connections.
Adjacent to the modern fireplace, the floating blue butterflies, skillfully crafted by Steven Wilson, hold their own narrative. Inspired by existing butterfly wallpaper in their previous home, these delicate yet vibrant elements were designed to stand independently without overshadowing other features. "Elements of nature are generally calming," Zeller explains, "we used a tonal palette with beautiful blue accents, creating an overall peaceful atmosphere echoing Garret’s clean and deceptively simple architecture."
In the subsequent space, which Traci Zeller deems the "heart of the home," the kitchen maintains its commitment to intricate details. Sizeable wooden tables introduce a hint of rustic charm, establishing a communal area that warmly invites family and friends to gather. Particularly noteworthy are the adorable sheep sculptures by Claude Lalanne, serving as whimsical additions that infuse a playful and natural element. Unearthed and cherished by Zeller, these imaginative creations contribute a touch of nature and joy to the house, perfectly harmonizing with her design philosophy that seeks to imbue spaces with both style and a sense of delight.

Next-Level Naples
SUN-DRENCHED BEACHES LINING THE SPARKLING WATERS OF THE GULF OF MEXICO, NEWLY RENOVATED ACCOMMODATIONS WITH LAVISH PERKS, INDULGENT SPA TREATMENTS, AND FRESH PLACES TO DINE AND PLAY DEFINE A WINTER SOJOURN TO NAPLES, FLORIDA.
By Angela Caraway-CarltonRelax and Recharge Ritz-Style
Retreat to longtime island favorite, the beachfront Ritz-Carlton, Naples, which recently emerged from a complete transformation that clutches to its regal history yet speaks to Naples’ modern progression. The arrival moment is breathtaking: the resort’s airy lobby now gleams in sophisticated white and gold tones, and a floating sculptural chandelier dripping in crystals beckons one to the new Champagne Bar. This is where you’ll want to begin vacation with a celebratory glass of bubbly and join a well-heeled crowd in the evenings for a nibble of caviar or something dusted with gold leaves or truffles.
One of the most notable additions for vacationers seeking an elevated experience is the newly built Vanderbilt Tower, which flaunts its own check-in desk for more than 70 spacious club-level guest rooms and the largest Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge in North America. Vaunting 4,000-square feet, the Club is like an opulent world of its own, with nooks and private spaces like a media room to get work done or watch a game, and an adorable kid’s club. Club-level guests are treated to endless libations and expansive spreads throughout the day, from a buffet-style breakfast and lunch to evening hors d’oeuvres and live cooking stations. At night, gather around the U-shaped bar anchored by a glittering gold chandelier where a bartender holds court and shakes up cocktails. While guests could enjoy every meal inside the Club, you shouldn’t miss the property’s new Mediterranean restaurant Sofra for a unique meal that you can’t find anywhere else in Naples. Its Turkish-born executive chef leans on his personal recipes from his homeland and pours his heart into dishes packed with flavor and authentic ingredients, including veggie-forward sharing plates, melt-in-your-mouth lamb chops, a seabass steeped in a tomato and herb stew, and a cinnamon-tinged rice pudding for dessert.
Spend your day floating in the calm Gulf water, choose from several new pools — including a new adult’s pool situated far from the gleeful screams of children — or tuck away in cabanas fitted with air conditioning, a private bath,
and a TV. At the end of the day, celebrate Naples’ unforgettable sunsets by ringing the bell at beachfront Gumbo Limbo with a tropical cocktail in hand. Wellness is now a centerpiece of the resort, and the updated three-level Spa offers rich amenities and fitness perks for hotel guests, like gratis Pilates reformer classes. You could spend hours in the Aqua Lounges alternating between the hot tub and cold plunge, infrared sauna, steam room, and rooftop mineral pool. Choose a treatment that harnesses local stones and flower-based oils; the 80-minute “Sea Holistic” treatment will lull you into vacation bliss as steamed herbal poultices are worked into the body to relax tense muscles.
Culinary Crawl
As a town with Italian influences at its heart, make reservations at staples like Bar Tulia on Fifth Avenue South to indulge in homemade pasta, including an indulgent braised lamb garganelli. It’s also worth venturing to the waterfront Osteria Capri for lunch or dinner, where lauded owner/chef AJ Black puts his modern spin on Italian classics, churning out simple dishes with fresh ingredients like a baked eggplant layered with cheese and a decadent housemade cacio e pepe tagliatelle pasta. The area’s culinary scene continues to evolve beyond Italian, with newcomers like the speakeasy-style steakhouse Rouge with its concealed door behind The French restaurant. The intimate 18-seat restaurant decked out in red focuses on
prime cuts of meat and classics like shrimp cocktail and lobster tails. When you’re looking for a night out like a local, pop in Rebecca’s Wine Bar to sip on inventive cocktails or a glass of new-to-you wine, or head to The Vine Room, a vibey cocktail lounge where drinks smoke and come in inventive vessels.
Culture and Natural Beauty Intermingle
Pop in the upscale shops that dot Fifth Avenue South and Third Street South and dig into cultural spots around town, including the burgeoning Naples Design District. There, you’ll peruse decor showrooms and art galleries like Amy Moglia Heuerman’s new fine art gallery, where you’ll often see paintings in progress. Delve into the area’s natural beauty at the Naples Botanical Garden or embark on a unique excursion with Treasure Seekers Shell Tours in Marco Island. You’ll set off on a boat ride through the blue-green waters to stop at different islands, where a “shell ambassador” will help you hunt for coveted shells — trust us, you’ll bring home a bag full of treasures and spot marine life like dolphins. While the beloved Naples Pier is still under repair from 2022’s devastating hurricane, the surrounding beach remains a popular gathering spot for sunbathing and soaking up Naples’ biggest star: its nightly sunsets. Naples has just the right mix of old favorites and new happenings worthy of a vacation.
The perfect island escape awaits.

THE CHEF’S TABLE Chef Jeremy Ford
by Marci MoreauWhen the name Jeremy Ford is spoken, people often think of prestige, honor, and esteem. And it’s easy to see why.
In the culinary world, tributes like Michelin stars, James Beard awards, and titles, such as Top Chef winner, television host, and esteemed chef and restauranteur, have an astral and notable significance, and Chef Jeremy Ford has certainly earned these accolades.
Rising through the ranks is a phrase Chef Ford could have coined, beginning his career at 16 as chef garde manger, or pantry chef, and then working his way around the country before he became executive chef at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Matador Room in Miami. But, I think the beginning of his journey became the foundation of the unwavering passion, love, and devotion for food that has built the Jeremy Ford culinary empire.
“My biological grandmother was an immigrant from Italy who barely spoke English and one of the most talented
cooks I've ever eaten from. One of the first times we met at her home, we were greeted by the incredible aroma of fresh tomatoes, herbs, and all sorts of vegetables. She prepared a large lunch for us with all of these garden delights out of her backyard, and we connected over food.”
“I didn’t really understand anything she was saying, and neither did anybody else. But I’ll never forget the aroma of being in her living room that first time, and I think from that moment on, I was like, this is what I want—I want to cook.”
Chef Ford has developed a culinary repertoire with food as his love language, including The Butcher’s Club, Beauty and the Butcher, and Stubborn Seed. His philosophy embraces the perfect balance of nature and nurture, using fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients at their best and brightest, peaking in optimal flavor and nutritional value. It’s the perfect recipe for all of us to fall in love with his food.
WHEN DID YOU FIRST FALL IN LOVE WITH FOOD / WHERE DOES YOUR FOOD STORY BEGIN?
I really fell in love with food during my family’s travel from Florida to California to find my mother’s biological mother - as she was adopted. What we found was more than an amazing human being. She was an immigrant from Italy who barely spoke English and one of the most talented cooks I've ever eaten from. One of the first times we met at her home, we were greeted by the incredible aroma of fresh tomatoes, herbs, and all sorts of vegetables. Her garlic clove stuffed beef roast was exceptional and will never leave my memory.
WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU FELT AN EMOTIONAL REACTION TO FOOD?
When I first arrived in Los Angeles, I was able to land a position at the world-renowned L'Orangerie off of La Cienega Blvd. As a young chef, I really had no idea how the interview process went, so I literally walked up to the back door of the kitchen and knocked on it until Christophe Eme opened the door, saw me in my uniform, and said, “When do you want to work?” I said, “I would love to come in as soon as tomorrow.” He then said, “I want to cook for you and your friend this evening in the dining room. Make sure you look nice.” The meal we received that night was one that will never be forgotten, as it was my first Michelin Star experience. I had never seen service done at this level or food that tasted this outstanding. I wanted to cry; I was so happy.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB IN THE INDUSTRY?
I would peel shrimp for six hours a day at a small seafood restaurant and then do dishes for the rest of the service. They even forced me to be a busboy when people would call out. It was very hard work, but I learned a ton about discipline and speed.
WHERE DID YOUR CULINARY JOURNEY TAKE YOU FROM THERE?
From there, I worked at one of the best restaurants in the city, which is still there 20+ years later, called Matthews. This was a restaurant where extremely high standards were kept, and it was the real beginning of something great. At this restaurant, I was able to hone my knife skills and organization.
WHAT ROLE DOES FOOD PLAY IN YOUR FAMILY LIFE TODAY?
We actually love working on recipes out of cookbooks that we have no idea how to cook. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking most recently out of Greg Gourdet’s “Everyone’s Table” book, which has Haitian influences all throughout. We love those flavors!
WHAT DOES SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY MEAN TO YOU?
To me, that speaks to the treatment in which we allow our team & family to be treated with respect, humility, and love. There’s no way we can do this in the ways of the past. If we treat our staff and family well, they will take care of our guests to their best ability.
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TODAY AS A CHEF?
I focused more on my team’s success, growing into higher positions and seeing everyone around me blossom. When I was younger, I was very focused on my own growth and career, and now that focus is passing on as much knowledge to the next generation as possible. They are our future. They are our everything.
WHAT IS YOUR KITCHEN LIKE AT PGA NATIONAL RESORT?
The team at PGA National Resort works so hard to make some of the best food in the city. The kitchen culture is very progressive and in constant evolution. Everyone is there to learn more, ask questions, and give ideas for the menu. We have a very open and collaborative environment.
WHAT IS A FAVORITE FOOD OR INGREDIENT YOU LOVE TO WORK WITH FOR THE WINTER SEASON IN FLORIDA?
Well, very different from the rest of the country, the winter season in Florida is an absolute treat. This is when all of our local farms are in peak season and are able to produce some of the most beautiful vegetables I’ve ever seen- such as baby turnips, heirloom carrots, beautiful onions, tomatillos, and some of the sweetest tomatoes ever!
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR CULINARY VALUES?
We always stay true to supporting small local farms and treating each other with respect, and one of the most important things is treating our product with love and care from the moment it comes in the back door until the second someone takes their first bite.
IS THERE A PARTICULAR DISH THAT CAME OUT OF INSTITUTING YOUR CULINARY VALUES?
Our glazed mushrooms are sourced from a local farm, and the sauce was made from a collaboration between our cooks and chefs.
WHAT DOES YOUR TABLE LOOK LIKE AT HOME?
Well, with three daughters, the table is pretty much a disaster 50% of the time, but we do put up some really delicious and beautiful food in between the mess!

What is a "statement sleeve"? Although the term has been in frequent use in the fashion media for less than a decade, many of us can instantly conjure an image of what it signifies: a sleeve style that captivates to the extent that it defines a garment, be it through embellishment, exaggeration, intricate construction, or some other distinctive element. In recent years, statement sleeves have graced numerous fashion runways, establishing themselves as a lasting trend. There exists a style for every taste, whether it's sheer or split, puffy or ruffled.
Curated by Colleen Hill of FIT’s Costume and Accessories, the exhibition opened on January 24 and showcases approximately 80 fashion items from The Museum at FIT's permanent collection. Most of these pieces are on display for the first time and include works by renowned designers such as Balenciaga, Tom Ford, Schiaparelli, and Vivienne Westwood. Running from January 24 to August 25, 2024, the exhibit offers a comprehensive exploration of the diverse and captivating world of statement sleeves. Visit ww.fitnyc.edu
The alluring ambiance of Southampton Village in the off-season has long been a well-kept secret cherished by locals and proprietors despite its undeniable beauty and tranquility. According to Dede Gotthelf, the proprietor of Southampton Inn, neighboring hamlets like Sag Harbor, Greenport, Montauk, and Westhampton Beach have successfully attracted tourists with diverse cultural events and activities. Gotthelf emphasizes the unique offerings during the off-season, such as beach walks and outdoor yoga sessions bundled up in down parkas, providing an alternative to the typical stretchy yoga pants and T-shirt attire. She aims to use this initiative to remind and inspire people about the possibilities available during this time. As the bustling period subsides, seasonal residents often bid farewell to the village and retreat to warmer climates like Palm Beach. Nevertheless, the off-season in Southampton unveils its most exquisite and peaceful charm, inviting individuals to appreciate the natural beauty in a serene setting.

IF YOU HAVEN’T, YOU SHOULD
Broadband Light
By Margaret Bastick LuceTake advantage of the winter months when you aren’t wearing your tennis skirts and mini dresses and give some love from the neck down. Over the years, I’ve noticed that freckles and spots don’t look cute anymore, and dare I say, to my horror, age spots!
As I have been appointed as the Zagat Guide (for those of you who remember) of health and beauty by my friends and family. One such example is my latest discovery, Broadband light (“BBL.”) It is the top of the-line plastic surgeons laser which I emphasize as you want only the best of the best operating this tool. BBL is more precise because of the different handpieces and the way you can manipulate the energy due to the attachments, therefore getting the best results.
The body is quite hard to target, for example, bringing up the spots with a BBL or an Intense Pulse Light (“IPL.”) It can certainly take longer than the skin on the face, so you are looking at a potentially more than one treatment and a longer recovery time (hence my suggestion for doing during the winter while being covered up) which might make people refrain from doing it. Dr. Frederic Barr of Palm Beach Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery explains,
pulsed on top of the skin to change the molecular structure and the appearance of aging skin below the surface, giving it a tighter and younger look.”
I found BBL to work wonders during my recent visit to Dr. Barr’s with Candy Cane; yes, you read correctly. Candy is lovely, and during my visit, I discovered she is very skilled with the laser, not to mention how comfortable she made me feel with her years of experience. Her confidence made me sit back, relax, and trust the process. My instincts were correct; Candy was my gal, and I look forward to returning and learning what else will benefit me.
As noted with lasers, you need to be vigilant in aftercare by using sunscreens and proper protection. As we know, these can all come back, as many things under the surface do. And my go-to is WATSKIN which is the fashionable sun-protective lifestyle brand.
Having remembered what a girlfriend once said you have to triple-track after 40 to get a quarter of the effects. I encourage you in the next few months before summer, look below the neck, and if you are in South Florida, book with Candy or seek out a skilled BBL or IPL practitioner in your area. We are worth it; invest in your health and wellness for long-term gains!
Daily Affirmation:
If You Haven’t, You Should…strip down, twirl around, and see if you have anything that you want to laser off!
