FOUR SEASONS YACHTS SET TO REDEFINE
In a bold move to reshape the landscape of luxury travel, Four Seasons is embarking on a new chapter with the introduction of Four Seasons Yachts. As a strategic pillar for future growth and brand distinctiveness, this visionary project aims to deliver immersive luxury experiences at sea and on land.
Alejandro Reynal, the President and CEO of Four Seasons sees Four Seasons Yachts as a cornerstone of their strategic vision. He states, “The inaugural Yacht is a manifestation of this vision, offering a world-class Four Seasons experience, at sea and on land, marked by the genuine, personalized service that our guests know and love.”
Scheduled to set sail in late 2025, the inaugural vessel signifies the debut of the Four Seasons Yachts fleet. The success is evident, with a signed contract for a second vessel with Fincantieri, worth over EUR 400 million and set to be delivered in late November 2026. Larry Pimentel, President and CEO of Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings Ltd., and Joint Owner and Operator of Four Seasons Yachts, reflects on the tremendous response to the project,
saying, “When we launched Four Seasons Yachts in Monaco this time last year, we were humbled by the tremendous response and excitement about the offering.”
What truly distinguishes the first Four Seasons Yacht is its commitment to ultra-luxe design innovations. The vessel features 95 suites with custom designs, aiming to erase the boundaries between guests and their surroundings. Each suite boasts extensive terrace decks, ranging from 100 square feet for the deluxe suite to nearly 5,000 square feet for the Funnel Suite – the Yacht’s most expansive accommodation.
The Funnel Suite, a marvel of design, spans four levels and offers over 9,500 square feet of combined indoor/outdoor
living space. With floor-to-ceiling wraparound curved glass windows costing USD 4.5 million, this engineering masterpiece provides stunning 280-degree panoramic views – a true spectacle at sea.
Breaking away from convention, Four Seasons Yachts introduces a bespoke onboard transverse marina, granting guests easy access to exclusive water sports adventures in traditionally private yacht ports. The cutting-edge marina design features expansive openings across the vessel, offering large platforms and tiered lounging decks on both sides to maximize light and sea views. It’s a visual and physical connection to the magnificence of the sea.
With an overwhelming demand for the inaugural voyages, only priority access is granted by invitation.
Loyal Four Seasons guests and valued travel partners are given preference, acknowledging their commitment to the brand. A dedicated private client service division equipped with high-touch and high-tech tools ensures personalized service for those interested in this exclusive yachting experience.
The 2025/26 inaugural season promises extraordinary yachting itineraries in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Voyages range from seven days to back-to-back journeys of 21 days, covering 33 countries, 137 unique destinations, and 76 late-night evenings and/or overnights. The yacht will explore iconic locales from the French Riviera to the Greek Isles.
In a groundbreaking move, Four Seasons has appointed Damien O’Connor, a veteran cruise executive, to manage the vessel’s hotel operations and land excursions. With collaborations between Four Seasons, Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings, Fincantieri, Prosper Assouline, and Tillberg Design of Sweden, the luxury yachting experience is set to reach unprecedented heights. The journey promises to be a symphony of opulence, seamlessly blending Four Seasons’ renowned service with the thrill of high-seas exploration.

AWithin the complexity of the human experience, its profound challenges, surprises, and joys big and small, there weaves a bright golden thread - a powerful source of creativity and joy for every human being.
Cultivating a spiritual connection has been shown to bring a deep resonance and meaning to all we do and are as individuals and members of our many diverse communities. Whether you call it God, a Higher Power, the Universe, Mother Earth, Buddha, or any other term that reflects a deep and abiding connection to something greater than yourself, the golden thread of Faith can knit us together into a shimmering whole.
Throughout history, humans have expressed the richness of spiritual creativity in human existence through art, music, poetry, dance, and other forms of inspirational and intellectual manifestation. People find their way to personal faith and spirituality through many channels. Mentors, teachers, therapists, spiritual and religious leaders, and recovery professionals are but some of the guides supporting us toward finding our own ‘practice’ for developing a personal relationship to divine - or sublime - power. This rich tradition of spiritual creativity may feel at odds with modern, busy life, but it is anything but. “Neurotheolo-
gy” - the multidisciplinary study of the intersection between religion and brain sciences - reveals that human beings are as hardwired for hope and faith as for conflict and competition. Prayer and meditation change how we feel - and may change how our brains work. When we concentrate on the potential of hope, hope becomes a habit, and that habit eventually becomes a lifestyle steeped in faith. While taking time out of our busy lives to stay spiritually in tune is challenging in this age of constant distraction, instant gratification, and digital malaise, the rewards are profound.
I know this firsthand. In my darkest days of addiction and emotional turmoil, then following a dramatic divorce, I fought my way back to a relationship with the divine. I prioritized time outside in nature and let the wondrous skies and wild pastures of my family’s ranch deliver me back to myself. I befriended my frazzled nervous system and learned to create safe, authentic connections with others. Most importantly for me, I awoke in the still hours of the morning to read spiritual texts by candlelight and let these quiet spaces of contemplation and reflection (before the sleepy tumble of my three young children brought me back to bookbags and breakfast) led me to a personal and loving relationship with Christ. Slowly, painstakingly, I wove these glimmers of hope and tiny golden threads of joy together into a deep and abiding faith that supports and sustains me to this day.
Maintaining inner balance and peace through faithful connection with a power greater than oneself - whatever that power is - allows us to be who and how we want to be in every arena of our lives, be it family, relationships, or work. SilverBell Global’s upcoming invitation-only retreat, East Meets West & Beyond: Divine Humans in Nature, is crafted for this exact exploration: a week-long transcendent journey from our busy, thinking minds to the inner silence of
reflection and awareness. Along with expert practitioners and best-in-class clinicians, we’ll share transcendent learning and growth on the sacred grounds of Castle Ashby, the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Northampton. Together, we’ll explore pathways to personal/spiritual faith and discover how to expand this transformative experience into our busy lives and the world - “Beyond” what we think we know about ourselves, our lives, and our collective future.
“... let the immeasurable come. Let the unknowable touch the buckle of my spine. Let the wind turn in the trees, and the mystery hidden in the dirt swing through the air.”~ Mary Oliver, Little Summer Poem Touching The Subject Of Faith
In the intricate symphony of our bodily functions, an often-overlooked player holds the key to our overall health – the lymphatic system. While the cardiovascular system is widely celebrated for pumping blood and oxygen throughout the body, the lymphatic system quietly operates in the background, playing a crucial role in maintaining balance and promoting well-being.
The lymphatic system is a complex network of vessels, nodes, and organs that work together to transport lymph – a colorless fluid containing white blood cells, proteins, and waste products. Unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system lacks a central pump, relying on muscle contractions, breathing, and external stimuli to keep the fluid moving.
One of the primary functions of the lymphatic system is to act as the body's drainage system. It plays a key role in removing waste products, toxins, and excess fluids from the tissues. Lymphatic vessels collect these substances and transport them to lymph nodes, where harmful particles are filtered out and destroyed by immune cells. Proper lymphatic drainage is essential for preventing the buildup of toxins, reducing inflammation, and supporting the body's natural detoxification processes.
The lymphatic system is intricately linked with the immune system, acting as its partner in safeguarding the body against infections and diseases. Lymph nodes, often referred to as the "filtering stations," house immune cells that identify and neutralize harmful
invaders. Efficient lymphatic drainage ensures the optimal functioning of these nodes, enhancing the immune response and contributing to a robust defense against infections.
When the lymphatic system is compromised or sluggish, it can result in the accumulation of fluid in the tissues, leading to swelling and edema. Manual lymphatic drainage, a therapeutic technique designed to stimulate the flow of lymph, is often employed to reduce swelling, promote healing, and enhance overall tissue health. This gentle and rhythmic massage technique aids in redirecting stagnant lymph, facilitating its movement towards the lymph nodes.
In addition to its physiological benefits, lymphatic drainage profoundly impacts mental well-being. The rhythmic movements and gentle touch involved in lymphatic drainage massage can induce a state of relaxation, helping to alleviate stress and promote a sense of calm. This mind-body connection underscores the holistic nature of lymphatic drainage, influencing both physical and emotional aspects of well-being.
As we unravel the intricacies of the human body, the importance of the lymphatic system and its drainage mechanisms becomes increasingly apparent. From detoxification and immune support to reducing swelling and promoting relaxation, the role of lymphatic drainage in maintaining overall health is undeniable. Embracing practices that support the optimal functioning of the lymphatic system can be a transformative step towards a healthier and more balanced life. So, let's celebrate the unsung hero within – the lymphatic system – and unlock the flow to a life of vitality and well-being.

Dear Marci, I have been following your Power of Food columns and I know how much you love food, but do you really believe food is a love language?
It’s true, I always loved food. When I was a little girl, my mother used to tell everyone she couldn’t keep me out of the kitchen. “I don’t know what to do, she’d tell my father, she won’t stop eating.” “Let her eat,” he said. He was Italian. He loved food, too. Food was his love language, and I understood him perfectly.
Growing up, when my father said, ” Let’s take a ride to get some ice cream,” I knew that translated to, ‘I’m sorry,” and when I’d wake up to find warm beach donuts rolled up in paper bags on the kitchen table, waiting for my brother and sister and me to devour them, he was telling all of us, “I’m here for you.”
And, when he wanted to say, “I love you,” well, that was expressed a million times over, scrambling eggs and frying hash browns for Sunday breakfast, steaming clams, making chowders, and stuffing lobsters at our summer beach house, and even, sizzling late-night cheeseburgers in a cast iron pan, just him and I, after everyone else had fallen asleep.
When you grow up in a big Italian family, it’s easy to fall in love with food. Food is the medium for all affection and there is nothing more powerful than sitting at the table sharing food with people who care about you; and, yes, you learn how to speak food.
So when my daughter Rachel was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia at only two years old, I moved into my new home at Dana Farber Cancer Institute while we tried to save her life with a bone marrow transplant, and I missed my house, and being in the kitchen, sharing food with my people, a lot.
Hospitals, cancer, and children make for a scary place, and everyone is hurting. Words are lost among blood tests, medical procedures, and agonizing waits for results to find out who gets to live.
Fortunately, my father and I didn’t need words; we had food. So when he and my mother took the trip up the Mass Pike from Connecticut to visit every weekend, and he made reservations to take me out to dinner, I knew he meant, “I’m scared, and I don’t know what to do to make this better.”
And I knew his heart was breaking, too. He told me that when he invited every parent with a child on Six West, otherwise known as the bone marrow transplant floor, to join us for dinner. Whoever could come was welcome; sometimes there were only a few of us, other times there were more than a dozen, but we were always all at one table, eating food together.
One night, we were in a booming new BBQ restaurant. My father and mother were sitting on the other side of the table, talking to Kristy, a young mom who brought her daughter all the way from Texas, alone and praying, like all of us, for a miracle. I couldn’t hear what they were talking about; there was so much food between us, but I didn’t need to. At that moment, I was proud to be their daughter.
Chicken, steaks, and briskets, all glazed with assorted sauces; potato salads, sweet and classic; baked beans and warm cornbread that crumbled in your hands and stuck to your fingers comforted all of us. Everyone at that table needed a lot of love, so my father kept ordering more and more.
That night, when I went back to my apartment at The Ronald McDonald House, I started writing a recipe I wanted to make for my father, and I came up with this BBQ sauce. I call it Marci’s Power of Love BBQ Sauce because I wanted to him to know how much I loved him.
I think it says it all.
• 15 oz. tomato sauce
• 6 oz. tomato paste
• ½ med onion
• 1 large shallot
• 1 jalapeno
• 3 garlic cloves
• 1 large piece of turmeric root
• 1 2 inch chunk of ginger root
• 8 oz. water
• ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
• ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
• 2 TBS Unsulphured Buckstrap Molasses
• 3 oz. dark chocolate
• 2 tsp sea salt
• 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
• 1 tsp ground cumin
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• ½ tsp cayenne pepper
I cook with organic ingredients whenever possible, and using ingredients with a significant nutritional profile enhances the health benefits for our body and mind.
I can’t think of a better way to say I love you.
Pulse onion, shallot, jalapeño, garlic, turmeric root, and ginger root in a food processor. Put everything else, except dark chocolate and spices, into a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add dark chocolate and spices, and stir until melted. Remove from the heat, cool, and share with someone you love. Makes 4 cups and can be refrigerated for seven days.
For interior design mix master Lisa Sherry, there’s a fine line between interior design and the world of fashion. She likes to blur it – beautifully and routinely – as principal designer and creative director at her Charlotte firm, Lisa Sherry Interieurs.
Thus, when Charlotte's personal wardrobe stylist and branding expert Catherine Horgan asked Sherry to sign on to manage the interior design of the family’s new Myers Park townhome, Lisa Sherry said yes immediately.
“Catherine is, of course, peak-of-chic fashionable. She’s also adventurous and trusting,” explains Sherry. This was not the pair’s first creative outing. Sherry designed Horgan’s South Charlotte family home a few years ago, and the two kept in touch in Charlotte’s busy social scene.
If elements of interior design are akin to separates in the world of fashion, Lisa Sherry and her team curated every interior decision and touchpoint with care and discernment, just as one might an outfit. To begin, Sherry bathed the space in white.
“In my world,” explains Sherry, “a neutral palette is like a peace sign.” Here, the lightfilled space and neutral palette enhance the flow and fluidity of the open floor plan. The space is also a celebration of art.
“These walls really do talk,” says Sherry. Over time and travels, the homeowners have built an interesting art collection. Sherry curated new selections – like the distinctive zebra portrait in the foyer – and reimagined the art collection in dramatic gallery wall presentations.
Throughout the townhome, Lisa Sherry and her creative coterie keenly focused on sourcing the just-right interior appointments, neutral but highly textural and touchable.
According to Sherry, comfort is a non-negotiable in her spaces. Telltale luxe upholstery selections include a custom scatter-back sofa in the living room, a mod club chair, a lounge-ready custom-made bench, and vintage S-chairs around the dining table. Every creative decision is both runway-ready and ready for living.
Like a perfect outfit, this Myers Park townhome is always dressed for the occasion – whether it’s a cocktail party or morning
coffee for two. A self-described “relentless editor,” Lisa explains that creating this balance is often about subtraction rather than addition. “Everything in a space should have a purpose,” she notes, “even if the raison d’etre is to make you smile.”

Amidst the vibrance of South Florida's architectural identity, where Mediterranean-style homes and Ranch Architecture reign supreme, Ken Golen Designs emerges as a beacon of contemporary brilliance. While the state's coastal allure is often synonymous with luxurious living, Ken's dedication carves a unique niche in the luxury design industry, bringing a touch of modern sophistication to each of his projects. With a career spanning over 25 years, Golen, a Miami native, has curated an exceptional portfolio of projects, showcasing his prowess in reinventing spaces and redefining contemporary aesthetics. From meticulously crafted living rooms to avant-garde kitchens, Golen's work reflects not only his technical expertise but also a keen understanding of the evolving tastes of the elite clientele in the Sunshine State.
This project's transformation extended to intricate details like paper-mache style art and hand-made Ecuadorian furniture. As we delve into his unique perspective, Golen sheds light on the delicate balance between aesthetics and functionality, offering a glimpse into the intriguing collaboration that unfolded during a contemporary makeover of a client's residence.
LUX: Can you describe the transformation process – from a traditional style to achieving a contemporary look in the recent project?
KG: Absolutely. The house was around 30 years old, showcasing a very traditional style with elements like Greek columns, marble, and ironwork. The first step was opening the space, stripping it to its bare bones. We removed traditional furniture and antiquities, giving the house a clean slate. It involved a significant departure from the older style, with a focus on creating a sleek, modern aesthetic.
LUX: It looks gorgeous. Could you shed light on Florida-style aesthetics and how they influenced the design, whether they contrasted or complemented the end result?
KG: The project was located in an upscale neighborhood, with many homes in the area following a traditional Spanish aesthetic or Boca Meisner style. However, many projects in the area involve tearing down these traditional structures and replacing them with modern, white-box designs. We balanced the contemporary elements with the neighborhood’s existing aesthetic to stand out.
LUX: The balance between aesthetics and functionality is important. Can you share how you achieved this in the project?
KG: It’s a delicate dance. Take the kitchen, for instance. The floating countertop, made of translucent blue stone, serves both aesthetic and functional purposes. They love to host and entertain, so they use it a lot. It lights up and adds a focal point between the kitchen and the rest of the house. Similarly, the electric fireplace in the living room combines contemporary aesthetics with functionality, providing heat while becoming a centerpiece that replaced a traditional castle-like fireplace.
LUX: Are these your favorite design aspects from this project?
KG: I love them all, but a couple stand out. The quartzite replacement in the living room is definitely a personal favorite. We used six slabs, meticulously combining them to create a striking pattern. These unique features add character and redefine the space, giving it a contemporary edge.
LUX: Lighting also plays a crucial role in your designs. Can you elaborate on how unique lighting fixtures contributed to the overall aesthetic of this project?
KG: The client expressed a desire for lighting that goes beyond the ordinary. We went to showrooms and explored unconventional options, ultimately choosing fixtures that I had previously used in a grand ballroom project. The result was magnificent.
LUX: Your projects often feature unique handmade furniture and custom-de-
signed pieces. Can you share the story behind the furniture?
KG: I sourced all the furniture from Ecuador for this particular project. They specialize in crafting exceptional handmade furniture. The pieces are made of high-quality materials and luxurious leathers, which create a sophisticated and unique feel.
LUX: And finally, what do you wake up looking forward to?
KG: If I have to give you a goal, my goal is not to stress through my life.
LUX: What do you think sets Ken Golen Designs apart from other firms in Florida?
KG: A lot of design firms tend to be generic, creating homes that, when you step inside, look identical. My philosophy has always been to avoid replicating designs, and I want to make the design process fun. I try to get to know my clients and make the journey enjoyable and not overwhelming with seriousness. I want them to feel a connection to their living space, and that involves understanding them and creating something truly different.

1.1 THE EXPRESSION OR APPLICATION OF HUMAN CREATIVE SKILL AND IMAGINATION, TYPICALLY IN A VISUAL FORM SUCH AS PAINTING OR SCULPTURE, PRODUCING WORKS TO BE APPRECIATED PRIMARILY FOR THEIR BEAUTY OR EMOTIONAL POWER. /ärt/
By Dorian MayAn increasing number of art enthusiasts are enhancing their collections by filling their homes, as well as their walls, with the furniture designs of renowned artists. In a world where we are conditioned to “stand behind the lines” and look but not touch the most valuable artworks, the invitation to interact with functional designs is a welcome evolution. Making art part of everyday living redefines the essence.
According to Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn, whose Salon 94 Design has supported the production and promotion of works of renowned artists such as Tom Sachs, Gaetano Pesce, and Donald Judd for nearly a decade, living with art is a sharing of energy.
“Often, it takes a physical embrace to be fully appreciated and admired. It is celebrating the human spirit, cultural history, and imagination...”
The border between furniture and fine art is a constant topic of discussion, according to Hamptons Interior Designer and gallerist Nicholas Kilner. “For Donald Judd, an artist turned furniture designer, the definitions were clear, ‘furniture is furniture,’ but
for Richard Artschwager, a furniture designer turned artist, it was more of a grey area: ‘Take a chair. If you sit on it, it is just a chair. But if you look at it, it can be a piece of art. It instructs you “both ways,”’ explains Kilner. “Ultimately, it comes down to function. I always advise sitting on a chair before you buy, but if the chair can't be sat on at all, it ceases to function as a chair.”
Greenberg-Rohatyn and her team are in constant dialogue with their artists and designers to ensure that both form and function are maximized. “A great chair might take years to develop like the Tom Sachs Shop Chair, or it can be made with a simple cut of foam as in the case of a Max Lamb Polly. However, both speeds require years of practice, trial and error.”
Giving new meaning to the term private viewing, British designer Max Lamb can even be commissioned through Salon 94 Design to create a custom bathroom or living space, making an entire room an original oeuvre itself. His bold blue-tiled restroom at Salon 94 headquarters becomes part of every installation, redefining the boundaries between design and art.

Collectible design has continued to grow in popularity and is being snapped up at fairs like Design Miami, Art Basel, and PAD as more realize these pieces are built to be used and do not require precious treatment. Museums keep works pristine, explains Greenberg-Rohatyn, who personally prefers the patina and added history of a chair or table in use. “I always loved a school desk with student graffiti and missives, the rub from the oil of our hands on the arms of a bronze chair or a console piled high with books and objects. That said, when one lives among works of value- there is automatic care and respect at play. Ritual objects are always handled with a lighter touch.”
Kilner, whose two young children eat and paint on a Nakashima dining table. It was one of the first things he ever owned after taking it in lieu of payment from a New York gallery he worked for years ago. He also learned how to treasure and live with art rationally from the artist himself. “Nakashima is quoted as saying that you should allow for your furniture to undergo a certain degree of 'Kevinizing' in reference to the damage inflicted by his young son Kevin. He embraced the inevitability of wear and patina as much as he did each piece of wood's innate beauty and individuality.”

Artists (left to right): Sara Pittman, Jacob Dhein, Thomas HagerNestled in the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum, an exciting exhibition awaits, inviting visitors on a fascinating journey through the story of Southern Florida fashion history. "Endless Summer: Palm Beach Resort Wear," curated by Cameron Silver, paints a vivid portrait of Palm Beach's indelible mark on resort fashion over the past 129 years.
Since opening its doors to the public on November 9, 2023, "Endless Summer" unfolds as a living narrative, tracing the evolution of Palm Beach into a trendsetting haven for resort wear in the American fashion scene. "Being the first luxury resort of America, Palm Beach was built on a certain sophistication and glamor," says Silver. "Palm Beach taught the world how to dress up even when in a more casual atmosphere by the beach. The show's fashion expresses Palm Beach's history and its continued significant philanthropic contributions. The exhibition is the epitome of chic."
As visitors meander through the museum's galleries,
they are treated to a curated collection of over 85 pieces, a dazzling kaleidoscope that spans iconic designers and brands. From the timeless allure of Gucci and Chanel to the vibrant prints of Lilly Pulitzer, the exhibit pays homage to the eclectic tapestry of designers who have contributed to Palm Beach's unique fashion landscape. "Palm Beach is much more eccentric than meets the less-trained eye," says Silver. " What I find most distinctive about Palm Beach style is the exuberance of color and print."
Martha Phillips, a luminary in luxury retail, emerges as a well-known Palm Beach style icon. Her boutique on Worth Avenue not only brought couture designers into the limelight but also left an indelible legacy of promoting emerging talents. Silver emphasizes, "
Because of Martha Phillips and her eponymous store, many international designers were first introduced to American fashionistas in Palm Beach, such as Valentino. However, the quintessential Palm Beach look is certainly that of Lilly Pulitzer’s instantly-recognizable prints on simple shifts that continue to be a uniform today."
The visual feast extends beyond curated artifacts. An elegant tablescape by Pioneer Linens, an archival photograph gallery, and a Children's Education Area on the fourthfloor balcony contribute to the immersive experience. "Endless Summer" is more than a nostalgic look back; it's a celebration of Palm Beach's enduring influence on the world of fashion. " We began with the vast collection of the Historical Society in tandem with creating themes while researching individuals and designers who were instrumental in establishing the style codes of Palm Beach," says Silver. " This county continues to be a very lucrative market in the world of high fashion and accessories, so paying homage to its past influence continues to pave the way for today and tomorrow."
Open until May 25, 2024, the exhibition beckons all —from fashion enthusiasts to history buffs— to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Palm Beach's fashion history. With its diverse collection and expert curation by Cameron Silver, "Endless Summer" emerges as a poignant tribute to the timeless elegance and indomitable influence of Palm Beach on the global stage of resort wear.
Step into the captivating world of Kirill Basov, the musical maestro famously known as DJ UKi, whose journey unfolds like a symphony of unconventional beats. From Ukrainian ballet to the creation of UKi Productions, Basov's artistic evolution took an unexpected turn when the music of fate led him to Florida in the late 90s.
Picture this: a fusion of Ukrainian ballet finesse and a deep-seated passion for music. That's the essence of DJ UKi's narrative, an intriguing tale that defies the conventional norms of the music
industry. As he transitioned from dance to DJing, UKi Productions emerged in 2010, marking the inception of a musical phenomenon. Delve into the vibrant soundscape curated by DJ UKi, where eras collide and intertwine seamlessly. From the iconic HMF lounge at the Breakers Hotel to the most exclusive lounges and upscale private events, DJ UKi's music is a kaleidoscope of genres — Lounge, Deep House, Nu Disco, Nu Jazz, and beyond. It's a musical tapestry that resonates with the refined tastes of Palm Beach's elite clientele.
Born in Ukraine, Basov's early years were marked by the rhythmic movements of dance. At 16, he found himself in West Palm Beach, navigating a new language and culture. The moniker "Uki" emerged, a nod to his Ukrainian roots. Beyond the dance floor, Basov's journey took a serendipitous turn when he decided to plant roots in Palm Beach after being mesmerized by a fleet of Ferraris at an annual auto show.
Two years into the musical odyssey of UKi Productions, Basov caught the discerning eye of The Breakers Hotel — a luxurious haven in Palm Beach. His transformative touch on the HMF Lounge was not just a departure from the norm; it was a symphony of innovation within the hallowed halls of this renowned establishment. In an environment where having a DJ was deemed unconventional, UKi Productions, under Basov's helm, redefined expectations.
Picture this: vintage musical sensibility meets contemporary flair, creating an atmosphere that transcends time. Basov's inspiration drawn from Parisian elegance resulted in a distinctive fusion of lounge, house, and dance music, solidifying his role as the Entertainment Director at The Breakers Hotel and the resident maestro of HMF Lounge.
But DJ UKi's journey doesn't stop within the boundaries of Palm
Beach. He has taken his beats across the globe, spinning tunes on private yachts that traverse the European waters, starting from the enchanting Venice, Italy, and making waves through Trieste. Private clubs in Newport, Palm Beach, Mar-a-Lago, Everglades Club, and exclusive events for renowned names like Ferrari and Lamborghini have all been graced by UKi's musical prowess. Additionally, he has entertained numerous clients, some of whom, due to confidentiality agreements, he is not allowed to mention.
Witness the evolution of UKi Productions, now a powerhouse in event production, orchestrating awe-inspiring experiences for private and corporate clients alike. From weddings to high-profile collaborations, UKi Productions stands tall at the forefront of event planning, with Basov's signature beats shaping the social scenes of Palm Beach.
For Basov, it's more than just creating music; it's a mission to challenge norms and revolutionize entertainment. Drawing inspiration from the words of Oscar Wilde, he envisions a world where individualism, creativity, and sophistication reign supreme, breaking free from the shackles of mediocrity. As DJ UKi continues to carve his sonic legacy, Palm Beach dances to the rhythm of a musical maverick rewriting the rules of entertainment, arts, and music.
HOW A BACKGROUND IN MODELING AND UNEXPECTED WEEKENDS ON THE GREEN LED TO A LUXURY ACTIVE LIFESTYLE BRAND CENTERED ON LOOKING AND FEELING GOOD.
In the enchanting tale of Darinka Tomanovich, the founder of Devon Halsey, we find a harmonious blend of Montenegrin traditions, holistic well-being, and a transformative journey from the world of fashion runways to the serene fairways of golf. This is not just a story about activewear; it's a celebration of roots, resilience, and the power of embracing one's passions.
Darinka Tomanovich's journey begins with the nurturing embrace of a Montenegrin family, where Eastern and Western health philosophies coalesce. Raised in an environment that cherished diverse health influences, Tomanovich's foundation of wellness was cultivated from a young age. Her father, a psychiatrist, imparted the profound lesson of mental health, while her mother, dubbed the "Martha Stewart of Eastern Europe," wielded a versatile skill set encompassing home management, culinary prowess, and holistic remedies.
“My friends often call me ‘Dr. Dara’ because of my inherited knowledge background and wealth of remedies,” Tomanovich shares. For her, the commitment to mental and physical well-being is not merely a profession but a daily choice to enhance the quality of life.
Venturing into the realm of holistic practices, Tomanovich embarked on a profound journey of self-discovery through Vipassana meditation. Spending nearly a week in silence, she immersed herself in the practice, learning the art of presence, tolerance, and non-reactivity. The 10-day course became a transformative space where she meditated and channeled energy harmoniously throughout her body, healing traumas from both this lifetime and past incarnations.
“The practice taught my subjective mind to be objective, and I broke what no longer served me,” she reflects. This practice became a beacon of resilience when faced with a health scare in 2020, emphasizing the transformative gift that negative thoughts can offer.
Tomanovich's journey took an unexpected turn. With three decades in the spotlight as a model, she found herself at a crossroads. A chance romance, now her fiance, led her to the world of golf, and the golf courses of Arizona became a refuge during times of isolation in 2020.
However, Tomanovich's discerning eye for style couldn't ignore the lack of fashionable and functional options in women's golf wear. Fueled by her Canadian upbringing and Serbian-influenced appreciation for elegance, she embarked on a mission with Devon Halsey to redefine women's golf fashion.
Devon Halsey is more than just a brand—it's a movement fueled by Tomanovich's commitment to empowering women. "Creating clothes is not changing lives, but if it makes women feel like they can accomplish anything, I've done my job, and I've done it well," Tomanovich asserts. With its blend of style and functionality, Devon Halsey is a catalyst for women to believe in their limitless potential.
As Devon Halsey ventures into its second collection, Tomanovich's story stands as a testament to life's unforeseen
paths and the beauty that emerges when passion, purpose, and resilience converge. Beyond the fairways, she is crafting a legacy that extends far beyond the world of fashion. Devon Halsey is a celebration of strength, individuality, and the unwavering belief that every woman is a force to be reckoned with, both on and off the green—a celebration of the harmony between holistic roots and high fashion.

JOGGER & INKA PANT
“Both of my pants were inspired by diverse body types. However, both are selling out for every body type. I am a size small, but if I want that Nili Lotan relaxed look, I will size up, put on a blazer and heel, and can effortlessly go anywhere. The Inka is a skinny pant, cut to create a sexy, tall silhouette for all body types. Both pants have a yoke feature in the back to ‘pop’ your booty. It’s something I learned from my favorite slacks from The Row. I thought if I incorporated this detail, it would create a more sophisticated look and feel.”
DRIVER JACKET
“I wanted to design a jacket that was multi-functional, could be packed easily, and serve many climate changes. It’s a fleece-lined vest that zips into a bolero, with a hood that compacts into a purse— kind of what an old-school K-Way jacket offered, but more stylish and water-repellant. You can wear both the vest and bolero separately and the hoodie is useful when caught in a rain shower unexpectedly. I made it easy to fold into itself, pack, or carry.”

Ileft Palermo Airport. It’s the nearest and two hours away from the New Adler Spa Resort. Past the gorgeous mosaics of Monreale cathedral and through the divine patchwork of fields inland. For I was heading for the southern coast between Sciacca and Agrigento. With rugged mountains in front of further mountains as an extra backdrop, the scenic views swept, undulating, and dramatically, twenty miles or more—such a contrast of wild contours and cultivated land. There are abundant olive groves in a landscape speckled with vineyards. The orchards of orange trees were so compact in their fight for light. All joyously fertile and yielding.
I came to stay at New Adler Spa Resort, www.adler-sicilia.com , suitably close to the town of Sciacca, once renowned for its thermal baths. It’s set in the Ribera orange region and the Torre Salsa Natural Park, where falcons, owls, and turtles have been spotted. It’s steeped in wilderness, amid woods and valleys yielding olives and oranges. The resort has a gorgeous, inviting descent to six kilometers of uninterrupted, empty, and golden coastline. It opened last year and is the magical dream of the Sanoner family and the latest in their Adler collection. It’s a discreet sanctuary for discerning types looking to unwind and replenish as they immerse themselves in the joys of well-being, nurturing, and nature. With very flexible times, I could get into my own natural rhythm rather than have to conform. Casual is the code, and commonly spotted are an almost Japanese combination of brown robes and orange umbrellas.
Indeed, sustainability is at the heart of the hotel’s philosophy with its motto, “Let the soul fly.” All the elements are celebrated with the hilltop’s expansive air, the aquamarine sea, the pit fires, and the cedar wood. What joy I felt in the utter abandonment of walking down through the woods to the allure of the beach where limestone cliffs bask in their sinuous striations before both sea and sky. From the beach, I looked up at this citadel to see the lovely shrubs and plants on its roof, a camouflaging silhouette that respected the laws of nature. The buildings were made from porous, volcanic ‘tufo’ stone and the rustic ‘terracuda’ raw clay. Their earthy color was in perfect harmony with their surroundings and blended seamlessly into the gentle hillside. Even the corridors resembled burrows. The heated infinity and the saltwater hydro massage pool echoed the two shades of blue of the sea and the sky. The perfectly landscaped gardens comprise paths lined with abundant flowers and cacti, scented lavender and jasmine, and there’s a stunning, proud, and prominent orange coral tree. There are just so many gorgeous viewpoints over the fabulously uninterrupted panoramic landscape.
The local cedar wood acts as a calming and cooling relief from the Sicilian sun. The 90 spacious guest rooms start from $670 half board for 2 people. All are at ground level and need no mural decoration as the view is sufficiently captivating. The food from
the bustling kitchen is in full view and served by waiters with sunny dispositions. It’s available across the day and is half-buffet, half à la carte. The hotel’s philosophy is ‘sea-to-table’ with dining comprising keeping the same table each night as though ‘at home’. At night, the lighting outside is kept refreshingly simple, and inside is low, thus bringing in the dark to be relieved by golden lights resembling lotuses as they float in the water. The noticeboard and daily newspaper keep all informed of activities and excursions.
The therapies here are wide-ranging and customized, from thalasso treatments, pressotherapy (mechanic massage movements to reduce the appearance of cellulite), and lymphatic drainage to the unique ‘Etna ritual’ using volcanic powder to leave guests’ skin feeling silky and soft. The one-of-a-kind, non-invasive ‘Jet Peel’ facial uses oxygen, vitamins, and nutrients to tone, purify, and smooth the very smallest of wrinkles.
There’s a sauna scented with rosemary, and the spa treatments use local essential oils, extracts, and ingredients. The spa’s signature treatment consists of ‘Essence of Sicily,’ whose open secret of ingredients comprise local almonds, prickly pears, and citrus fruit oil. I e-biked, some hiked, and others were guided on the 40-minute drive to the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento, with its extraordinary ancient Greek architecture. I left with a heavy longing to return before long. This is nostalgia at its best.

In the ever-evolving landscape of tequila and mezcal, Código 1530 stands as a beacon of innovation and excellence. Renowned for its commitment to quality, this additive-free tequila brand has recently launched a masterpiece that transcends expectations—the Código 1530 Cristalino Reposado.
A harmony of flavors, a dance of barrels, and a commitment to uniqueness sets Código 1530 apart. The Cristalino Reposado is a blend of the brand's award-winning Reposado, carefully aged in French White Oak Cabernet wine barrels. What makes it truly exceptional is the infusion of their sought-after 6-year "Origen" Extra Añejo, culminating in a finish within French Cognac casks.
Federico Vaughan, Co-Founder and COO of Código 1530, shares the journey of crafting this one-of-a-kind Cristalino. "Being a single NOM distillery (NOM 1616), we had the freedom and resources to create a completely unique Cristalino unlike any other on the market. We had a lot of fun testing different blends and finishes before declaring the Reposado and Extra Añejo blend as the winner," he explains.
Código 1530's commitment to authenticity and innovation shines through in the Cristalino, adhering to the brand's high standards. The intentional blending of Reposado and Extra Añejo not only preserves the essence
of tequila but also pays homage to the rich tradition of tequila making.
What sets Código 1530 Cristalino apart is its defiance of standard practices. While conventional charcoal filtration erases amber hues and bitter tannins, this blend revels in them, unveiling layers of flavor and aroma. The addition of Origen Extra Añejo adds depth and warmth, creating a tribute to the passion and heritage of tequila making.
As you take your first sip, a sensory journey begins. Aromas of rich vanilla and roasted hazelnuts entwine with the elegance of agave, offering a depth that transcends the ordinary. Cooked agave introduces a delicate and balanced sweetness, while caramel, vanilla, and hazelnut notes create a complexity that lingers on the palate. A touch of light cocoa gracefully concludes the experience, leaving you with a harmonious and elegant taste.
Breaking free from convention, Código 1530's tequila and mezcal offerings embrace time-honored customs and historic traditions, avoiding chemicals, flavorings, or sweeteners. Confirmed as an additive-free brand by Tequila Matchmaker, these meticulously aged tequilas hail from Amatitán, Jalisco, MX, and are aged in the world's finest French Oak Cabernet wine barrels. www. codigo1530.com.
In the culinary world, people, passion, and food are considered requisite for creating some of the world’s most esteemed, praised, and powerful dishes. It’s a fusion I like to call the perfect gastronomical chemistry, and from the first bite, there is no denying the fiery energy and evocative warmth ensued when history, culture, and talent end up together on a plate.
Executive Chef Dieter Samijn, at the helm of Cafe Boulud in Palm Beach, is no stranger to these collaborative fires. Born from some of the world's most powerful chefs, his dishes include some of the best culinary philosophies and ideologies. Having worked with Alain Ducasse, Peter Goossens, Bart Vandaele, and now, as an executive leader in the Boulud empire, Chef Dieter combines this acclaimed back story with his own Belgian roots and truly makes magic happen.
With a journey that has taken him around the world, the result is a personal culinary style bred from rich history, classic traditions, and the ever-changing bounty of nature. Focused on making food people love, Chef Dieter Samijn encapsulates the true essence of an unforgettable culinary experience and is setting the world on fire with food.
In my opinion, one falls in love with food without really realizing it. When you are sitting at a family table and enjoy eating mashed potatoes, grandma made over the ones you got at school during lunch simply because she used potatoes from the market and good butter. So, I loved good food from a very young age; however, it didn’t make me want to cook food then. I guess when I was ten years old, I fell in love with it and developed certain preferences.
Probably, when I started traveling with my parents, I could see and explore different things. We visited Italy, and I tried pasta or pizza that tasted so much better than at home, and I knew I was going to miss that: at around the age of 12, I realized that.
When I was 16, I wanted to ride a motorcycle, and my dad made me work for it. I started working as a server and a bartender; then, I ended up in the kitchen absolutely by accident. I did so well that the chef wouldn’t let me return to the dining room and kept me in the kitchen.
I was studying something entirely different, and basically, after I finished that, I went to culinary school. I was lucky to attend a school that also offered great internships all around Europe, so I took that opportunity and enrolled in a summer internship in France at one of the high-end restaurants. After graduation, I started working alongside Alain Ducasse in Monte Carlo, and I stayed for a couple of years working at different restaurants and places.
WHAT ROLE DOES FOOD PLAY IN YOUR FAMILY LIFE TODAY?
It’s pretty important. Good food encourages conversations. Family meals are a time when family members gather around the dinner table together to eat and discuss the events of the day. It’s a happy moment for me and my kids.
For a lot of people, it’s about the environment, and it is surely for a part. For me, a key part is also making sure that people I work with fit comfortably in the community as well as feel valued for the work they do. Ultimately, this helps grow your business and sets you apart.
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TODAY AS A CHEF?
I personally like to keep it simple and straightforward when it comes to mealtime. I also appreciate food from all over the world. So, I constantly evolve, but since I’m Executive Chef at Café Boulud, one of Daniel Boulud’s restaurants, I follow the style and brand identity.
WHAT IS A FAVORITE FOOD OR INGREDIENT YOU LOVE TO WORK WITH FOR THE WINTER SEASON IN FLORIDA?
It is probably the local fish. It’s beautiful and fresh.
WHAT IS YOUR KITCHEN LIKE AT CAFE BOULUD?
French with a South Florida influence. I try to keep it French and seasonal. In Florida, we have great summer and winter ingredients. Because of seasonality, each season, there is a renewal of things that you are familiar with, and there is a renewal of things you discover during each new season or a renewal of things you bring back.
IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR KITCHEN IS A VERY CREATIVE PLACE WITH A LOT OF RESPECT FOR PEOPLE AND FOOD, A KITCHEN WITH A MORAL COMPASS – WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR CULINARY VALUES?
First, wherever you come from, regardless of your background, we appreciate you for who you are. Then, it’s important to let them grow and encourage them to achieve their desired goals and results one step at a time.
MY FAVORITE QUESTION –HEY, CHEF, WHAT DOES YOUR TABLE LOOK LIKE AT HOME?
My table always has freshly baked bread, butter, and olive oil. Fresh herbs and vegetables, room temperature water, and the rest change depending on the mood, weather, and time/ moment we are in. And coarse sea salt…

Enduring a two-hour wait in the chilly winter air for a seat at one of New York’s budget-friendly steakhouses might be up your alley. Consider Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecôte, which made its return to Manhattan in November. The attraction? A compelling $34 steak frites offer complete with limitless fries (though whether it’s a worthwhile venture is open to interpretation). It’s worth noting that the restaurant operates on a no-reservation policy, so best of luck securing a spot!

WPerfect timing with winter break and an opportunity to check out and peruse the possibility of joining the Boca Raton Club. Getting my son into all whites and my daughter to join us culminated in a fabulous day at The Boca Raton. Valuing quality over quantity, golf, tennis, horseback riding, and skiing are the top choices in our household. Our picks for this staycation were golf, tennis, and some spa time.
Arriving at The Boca Raton is a treat from the moment you enter the property. The smell of the fresh croissants at Sadelle’s and the oat milk latte has me dreaming of pulling up at that valet every morning. A historic and lush resort with many updates thanks to Michael Dell, who since taking ownership of this Addison Mizner creation has put nearly $1 billion into the property. Glancing as I walked around, it was polished while offering that old Florida feel. The staff is both friendly and mannered, and the visitors are a wonderful mix of American and the international community. And there is no shortage of options, no matter what you fancy. Time poolside, in the spa, taking to the courts or the course, The Boca Raton has it all.
On the other hand, my daughter chose a round of golf and partook in the steam and sauna. After all, what teenage girl wouldn’t love to play a round at a beautiful course and luxuriate at the spa? Immersed in their activities and loving time in a wonderful place so close to home was the best gift.
After we took part in our activities, we met for lunch at Mulligans overlooking the Harborside Golf Course, a fan favorite for its classic golf club fare. Conrad, watching his muscles, ordered two scoops of tuna on lettuce, and the girls opted for the chicken burger. Surprise, surprise, I chose the Cobb Salad. A yummy menu to satisfy all ages. It wouldn’t be an outing with the kids if they weren’t watching a Snapchat feed, talking golf swings, and giggling about all the things I would love to know. Sometimes, carving out time is easy to say and not so easy to deliver on. It often takes leaving your home and immersing in an experience, no matter the distance from your doorstep, to reconnect and appreciate each other.
I was thrilled to share the court with my son midweek. It is a rare opportunity now that he is at college out of state. He turned to tell me, with a bit of a surprise in his voice, that he was taken by how much he likes tennis and believes he can grow in his ability to play
As we drove home, I smiled and noted that this time with my son, daughter, and her friend was perfect. So I missed the wave pool; it didn’t matter because I had a proper tennis lesson alongside my son, laughed at lunch, and truly appreciated the moments. The Boca Raton is a must-visit whether you live down the road or across the country…as a matter of fact, I just may consider joining the club!
