Maxx Is Coming To School Maxx, the Auckland Transport pukeko, will be riding the 042 morning bus this Wednesday and Friday. The 042 bus route (operated by NZ Bus for Auckland Transport) has had a troubled past with the bus being late on some occasions and even not running on one or two days. I am pleased to say that NZ Bus and Auckland Transport have been working very hard to get this bus service right. As a result of the work to ensure the service is reliable, the service is being relaunched this week with Maxx being a passenger on Wednesday and Friday along with the principal (who will act as security for Maxx - watch for the dark glasses!) The re launch includes retraining of drivers to ensure they are thoroughly familiar with the 042 route, while some of the drivers will be visiting school tomorrow morning to introduce themselves to our children in class. The 042 Bus Route Map and the CBS Bus Timetable is shown below. This shows the bus stops and the route map along with the start times for the morning and afternoon 042 bus routes. It is much cheaper using the AT HOP card (90 cents) rather than using cash ($1.50) for each one way journey. You can purchase HOP cards from bus stations and from a number of retailers, as listed below. You can 'top up' on line or from the listed retailers or bus stations.

As you can see, the scanning on the map and street names is not that clear, so you can collect a good clear copy from the school library. The small circles represent bus stops. HOP Retailers Northcross Price Cutter Albany Central Superette Mairangi Bay Dairy & Lotto Northcote Pop Inn Dairy

Testing of School Fire Sirens We continue to experience problems with false alarms (during evening hours) of our fire alarm system. The most recent incident occurred last week in the late evening. As a result of this most recent incident ISS, the company that oversees the system, will be testing the fire alarm system after school on Wednesday in an attempt to ascertain where the system is 'sticking' and is not resetting itself, as it should do, after a period of time following a false alarm. Please do not be alarmed (sorry) if you hear the alarms sounding for a period of time on Wednesday after school.
