Face Painting The people have spoken! Actually, in this case the children have voted and it is overwhelmingly for the principal having his head painted as the head of a Minion. Watch the newsletter for the day this will be happening.

Calendars, Cards and Diaries
Here is a great Christmas gift idea for friends and family. Your child’s artwork featured on a 2015 calendar, diary or pack of 8 blank cards. Calendars are bound with wire and the artwork is laminated. They include the dates for the school terms and NZ public holidays. They also come with stickers to highlight special events like birthdays. Cards are blank so they can be used for any occasion. Your child’s name is printed on the back of the card. All 8 high quality cards are printed with the same art design. Diaries have a hard cover and measure 148mmn by 210mm. View a week at a glance—each page displays the full week from Monday to Sunday. At the beginning of each month there is a monthly overview. Orders Orders can be made online using the Kindo system
https://shop.tgcl.co.nz Orders need to be made by Friday 19 September.

Class Placement Letters
We are looking for some adult helpers to help apply makeup to our ‘actors and actresses’ prior to each performance. If you are able to help either on the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday performance next week, please email Hannah Leadbetter at hannahl@campbellsbay.school.nz with the day you are able to help. We will require 4-5 people each night to help. If you have already offered to help, please email Hannah to let her know what day you are available. Many thanks.
“Not Self, but Service”

Daffodil Day Well done Campbells Bay, you really pulled together and did a phenomenal fundraising job for Daffodil Day. With only three days notice, or even two days notice in some cases, we raised, as a school, over $1,500 - WOW! The class that raised the most money per student was Rm 20 (Mrs Richardson). They raised a total of $159.80. In second place was Rm 32 (Mrs Meder) with $117.10, in third place was Rm 8 (Mrs Leadbetter) with $104.80 and in fourth was Rm 27 (Mr Richardson) with $88.20. A sterling effort for a very important cause. The 'lucky' teachers nominated to be iced by the TOP THREE classes were... Mrs Richardson (voted for by Rm 20), Mrs Leadbetter (voted for by Rm 8), Mrs Maunder (voted for by Rm 32) and an extra teacher volunteered herself because she was SO proud of the whole school effort...Mrs Frank. These FOUR teachers took the Daffodil Day Ice Challenge on Thursday 4 September and were all very brave indeed! Two packets of ice and Trumpet ice creams for the winning class (Rm 20) were donated by the Crown Hill Superette (a massive thanks to them for their support!). Thank you ALL again for such an amazing effort. Proud Mrs Richardson
APPA Choir A reminder to get those ticket orders in for the APPA choir festival. This is an amazing night which sells out quickly. You won't want to miss seeing your child perform in the Auckland Town Hall with special celebrity guests and our very own CBS dancers and ukulele players! If you have misplaced your order form, you can collect one from the school office. Tickets close on Friday 12 September. Look forward to seeing you all there. Jenny Watt
Storylines Festival I am incredibly proud of the Scarface Claw Alley Cats (Pablo Morles, Max Hickman, Ella Simonsen, Savannah Martin, Isabella Drummond, Lucy Rich and Danielle Pattimore) You were SUPERB at the Storylines Festival on Sunday 31 August. They performed four times and 'wowed' the crowd with their confidence and skill in such a GIANT theatre (ASB Theatre, Aotea Square). They even had fans coming up to meet them after their performances. You did me, your school, your families and yourselves very proud! Ka pai from a very proud Meowses Richardson. “Not Self, but Service
Mind Problem Solving Programme Over the past six weeks some very cool, clever, creative Yr 5 and 6 students have been involved in the Tournament of Minds Problem Solving programme. They have worked together to solve a demanding, open-ended ‘long term challenge’. They were not allowed any teacher or adult input. It was Tournament day on Wednesday 3 September. Their challenge this year was to create a scenario where a story teller must publicly deliver a contemporary story of importance to a live audience without the use of technology. They had certain characters from well-known stories that needed to be incorporated into their stories. Children had 10 minutes to present their solution to a panel of judges and an audience. Teams also took part in an unseen ‘spontaneous challenge’ on tournament day. CBS had four teams of seven involved in this year’s tournament. Every group put on a stella performance in both challenges. You worked so well together and Mrs Lanning was not only very impressed but very proud of you all. Two teams achieved honors in the long term and spontaneous challenges. Well done to all of you.
