Vulcan, oil on canvas, 70x100,2017
How often do you focus on details? How often do you look at colours as if they were the actual substance of your attention and not an additional value to other physical bodies? Andrea Good does the opposite that what we normally and physiologically do: for her colours are the privileged centre of attention. Not only, colours become the mirror of the world thus obliging us to dive into an unknown realm. A new language only possible to comprehend through high sensitivity and a mind open to discover new sides of ourselves. If with colour Andrea stimulates a relationship with the art piece and the self, this is also extended to all the public of the art work, that seems to tell us that what we all share is our sensitivity and humanity.
Stay Gold, oil on canvas, 70x100, 2017
The capability to enter in contact with reality and to sympathise with each other. Even though these qualities are owned by every human being, how sharpened they are only depends on individuals. As all our pores lighten up when we are in a dangerous situation, in order to catch every little movement happening around us, thus in front of these blue, red and golden paintings, the eye needs to perceive more than what it actually sees. Andrea is able to make us sigh in front of her art works, to make us feel the hole and realize that we are never alone but we always share our human nature. This takes the spectator to the next level of comprehension.
Blue Trip, oil on canvas, 70x100, 2017
The red and golden brushstrokes, almost scratches, in Vulcano become the spectator’s energy, who in a whirl of colour shares Andrea’s meditation reaching a quick realisation. Full of energy, we are then encouraged to Stay Gold, to be faithful to this reflection also when we move away from the canvas and to continue our lives with a clearer vision. The spectator is then ready to start the so called Blue Trip, blue because he can only take off towards the sky and keep on being true to himself. The trip is our life and if we live it with our “pores lighted up” we are able to express the best of ourselves, our inner energy and compassion to each other. Art is for Andrea a means to arouse reflection, to create a better wold. While we, the spectators, should remove the barriers and let her colours and brushstrokes guide us into ourselves.
