UPPER SCHOOL NEWS 47th Annual Harvard National Forensics Tournament Juniors Nirmay Bhanderi and Collin Roberts competed in the high school ethics case competition hosted by the Rutland Institute for Ethics at Clemson. The competition teams consist of two high school students who propose a solution to an ethical dilemma in front of a panel of judges. Roberts and Bhanderi prepared a ten-minute presentation and showed it to the panel virtually from Maclay’s iTHINK lab. After being named one of four finalists, the pair presented again in the afternoon and were named winners of the 2021 Case Competition.

Body Image Workshop Becky Patterson visited with the freshman class for a Body Image Bootcamp. She discussed exercise and nutrition, but she also addressed issues surrounding social media, providing great advice for all students.

Upper School Celebrates International Women’s Day Maclay Upper School and Spectrum Club hosted the International Women’s Day on Campus, encouraging faculty to wear purple while Spectrum Club students handed out stickers.

Senior Countdown Dinner Maclay Seniors celebrate their last 84 days at Maclay with former teachers and administrators. Students were treated to a catered dinner, watched a slideshow of their classmates through the years, and ended the night with cupcakes by the Oak Tree. 8
