The popular and convenient MDH Drive-Thru opened in March, providing laboratory draws and COVID-19 testing from the convenience of one’s vehicle seven days a week. The Drive-Thru staff and MDH Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer Wanda Foster, RN, FACHE both received the 2021 Outstanding Community Service Award as announced by the McDonough County Quality of Life Advisory Committee. As part of a campus beautification plan, the parking lot and frontage road around the Drive-Thru and Health Services Buildings (HSB) 1 and 2 were repaved to help make parking easier while providing better access to the MDH buildings. Brand new LED lighting was installed, replacing outdated light fixtures in every parking lot.
Work is scheduled for completion at the end of 2021 for the renovation project inside HSB1. The nearly $3 million dollar project expands clinical space on the first floor and will feature a convenient, new Radiology suite on the second floor. The much-anticipated Dolores Kator Switzer Women’s Center (DKSWC) opened its doors in February 2020, featuring: eight private obstetrics/gynecology recovery suites, a nursery, three Labor-Delivery-Recovery rooms, renovations to the obstetrics and imaging waiting rooms, and a Radiology center.
