The Macomb Area Chamber is an enthusiastic advocate of the “Shop Local” initiative knowing, that every dollar spent locally improves our roads, schools, and overall quality of life. • Our Chamber Gift Certificate Program, open to all Chamber members, ensures nearly $200,000 of gift giving stays in our local economy every year, generating sales tax to ensure adequate funding for infrastructure, education, and public works projects. • In additional to the “shop local” program, the Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce has taken the local approach one step further. Enter, #keepitinmacomb! What exactly is “it”? It is everything! It’s a way of life and the culture on our streets, square, parks, and more. It is not only items you buy, but services you use, entertainment options, places you go, and how you choose to spend your time. It is anything you purchase or consume, tangible or intangible. However, and maybe more importantly, “it” is what we keep in Macomb when we choose to spend our money locally.
