Dear New Life Family: Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! 2011 was an amazing year for New Life Ministries! In just one short year God has used us to make an indelible mark upon this community that can never be erased. We have only been able to achieve all that we have done because of the favor of God and the obedience of our people. We have made significant changes within our church family, but I believe that God has so much more in store for us to do for His Kingdom. As we prepare to enter into this New Year, God has placed on my heart the theme for 2012 “People on a Journey.” The word journey is defined as passage or progress from one stage to another. A defining characteristic of the Christian community is that we are a people on a journey. We are neither wanderers nor tourists. We are pilgrims, on the way. We were given “a new life into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3), and we look “forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God” (Hebrews 11:10). In our baptism we are inducted into the grand pilgrimage, and at the Lord’s Table we receive bread and wine as food for the journey. Our goal in the coming year will be to encourage one another to keep our eyes on the prize, and to shape our conduct by this living hope. As we consider our plans for the New Year, we want to be intentional in everything that we do so our focus aligns with the goals that God has laid before us. Each of these goals can be summarized into the following categories: Spiritual, Social, Structural and Stewardship. I ask that as you read this document that you will be prayerful that God will give you direction as to how you should get involved to help us achieve these goals. New Life is a much better church because you are a part of this ministry. I know that God sent you to be a part of what is going on at New Life and has placed the gifts and talents within each of you to help us achieve His purpose for us. My prayer is that as you read and familiarize yourself with the vision that God will ignite within you an unquenchable desire to become an active participant through your time, talent and treasures. New Life Church Family in 2012 we are “People on a Journey.” In His Service,

FOLLOWING THE VISION A message from Bro. Reggie Watkins, Business Administrator Dear New Life Family, Praise God from whom all blessings flow! I am both humbled and grateful to be “In His Service” as a member of the New Life Ministries Family and be a part of, and share in, its amazing spiritual and physical growth and transformation. Year 2011 has proved to be a phenomenal year for our church family in many significant ways as we have continued to be a beacon in establishing our rightful place in the Gadsden County community. As a church family, we have collectively and collaboratively worked together to assist and support Pastor Evans in fulfilling the vision that God has revealed to him for New Life Ministries. As we excitingly prepare to journey into Year 2012, we have much work to do as “People on a Journey” as we deliberately build on becoming greater change agents and difference makers in our church and community. The Bible reminds us that “to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, to him they will ask the more” (Luke 12:48). With the spiritual and human needs of its people and community, the New Life Family will be asked to commit to do more and more in 2012. In an effort to be transparent, intentional, and deliberate in keeping you informed regarding the vision that God has given Pastor Evans, we have developed a document, “People on a Journey” for your review and edification. This document will share our progress year-to-date; our long-term and short-term goals for fulfilling the vision; and other relevant information outlining how every member will need to be a part of this journey in order for the vision to become a reality. After you complete your review of this document, you should have a clear and concise understanding of not only the vision as it relates to where God wants this journey to take us in 2012, you should also be clear on the steps required to make this journey become a reality. Therefore, I urge you to initiate due diligence and read this document carefully, deliberately and in its entirety. It is my prayer that the information contained herein blesses you and at the same time encourages you to become a committed supporter of this vision and this ministry. I am confident that you will experience the same joy and pride I feel when you see all that God has already done through our members and supporters. New Life Ministries will continue to grow and make a difference both inside and outside its four walls with your help and commitment. May God bless, protect, and provide for you as you continue to serve Him and His Kingdom! Growing In His Service, Reginald L. Watkins

FOLLOWING THE VISION A message from Deacon Richard Lockwood, Chief Ministry Officer Greetings My Brothers & Sisters! WOW – it has been over a year since God gave our Sr. Pastor, Maurice E. Evans, the Vision for New Life Ministries! Since the inaugural service back on December 5, 2010, New Life Ministries has grown to become a vital, intricate part of the Gadsden County Community. New Life was created to foster the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the beliefs of the evangelical Christian faith, to maintain the worship of God, and to inspire in all persons a love for Christ, a passion for righteousness, and a consciousness of their duties to God and their fellow human beings. We pledge our lives to Christ and covenant with each other to demonstrate His Spirit through worship, witnessing, and ministry to the needs of the people of this church and the Gadsden County Community. New Life Ministries has the responsibility of communicating to its members and the community, the life-changing power of Jesus Christ in a practical and understanding way; to develop them into responsible, productive, successful Christians; and equip them for their ministry in the church and life mission in the world. This includes creating a Ministry where people can come experience the grace and love of God, with a family of believers, where they can find healing for the things that have hurt and wounded their souls. God has called New Life Ministries to boldly represent the kingdom of God through witness, discipleship and service to others by following the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:37-39) and the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20). We take seriously the Scriptures, prayer and the call to “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly before God” (Micah 3:8). God is preparing us, through prophetic preaching and teaching, to bring the hope of the Gospel to our community and “take every thought captive to Christ.” I would like for you to know that God Loves us, and that our true mission and purpose is to “Win Souls for Christ”. “Let us hold fast the “PROFESSION” of our faith “WITHOUT WAIVERING”; for He is faithful that promised (Hebrews 10:23). I would like to encourage ALL members to passionately follow the vision of this church ministry. This can be accomplished by supporting this ministry through tithing, prayer, time, talents, dedication, outreach, and evangelism. Let us remember in 2012 that it is important to the body of Christ that ALL members work together for the glory of God. Your Humble Servant, Deacon Richard Lockwood

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION New Life Ministries’ Christian Education Department is a vital element to the believers’ lives. The Christian Education Department provides multiple avenues for members to learn, grow and development according to their stage of learning.

Our salvation is based solely on our belief and acceptance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. However, if our lives are going to reflect this relationship, we have to have our minds transformed through the word of God. Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

SPIRITUAL GOALS

FOCUS ON FAITH, PRAYER, PRAISE, DISCIPLESHIP AND WORSHIP “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 • To become more spiritually connected and in tune with God by corporately fasting for 30 days • To provide opportunities for every member to identify his or her specific gifting and purpose within the Body of Christ and at New Life Ministries • To increase attendance in Sunday School and Bible Study

SOCIAL GOALS

FOCUS ON EVANGELISM, OUTREACH AND FELLOWSHIP “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:19-20 • To impact our community by offering at least four outreach and evangelism events • To strategically invite 50 people who are unsaved or without a church home to our church each month • To attain at least 150 new members to unite with our church family in 2012 • To win at least 100 souls to Christ in 2012

STEWARDSHIP GOALS

FOCUS ON FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP “To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.” Matthew 25:29 (NLT) • To increase the percentage of tithers within our congregation to 100% • To have 100% our men (especially leaders) give $20 in each public offering and 100% of our women give $10 • To increase our financial reserves to at least 3 months of our current monthly operating expenses and enact the snowball effect to reduce the mortgage on our current facility
