he festival’s ‘roof’ covers the charming streets of Madison’s downtown historic district with antebellum and turn-of-the19th-century residences, retail shops and small businesses. The festival “unites the community as they enjoy arts and culture, interactive exhibits, a car show, wonderful children’s area and great food,” festival president Sharon Holcombe said. “The family-oriented festival is admission free.” The day opens with a parade at 9 a.m. with bands from Bob Jones and James Clemens high schools, Scout troops, .............................................................. sports cars, pageant queens, politicians .............................................................. and floats. “We’ll honor breast cancer .............................................................. survivors this year with our pink MSF .......................................................

shirts. A special float in the parade will transport cancer survivors. The Grand Marshal will be Jeanine Brennan Presto Jamison, a breast cancer survivor, Holcombe said. New for 2016, the Church Street Stage will complement soloists and

groups. Vocalists, rock bands, Madison Community Band, folk singers, Madison City Community Orchestra, dance ensembles and Madison City Youth Orchestra are on the schedule. Other performers will entertain at the Madison Gazebo.

In Crafters Cove at the corner of Church and Maple streets, about 60 vendors will showcase everything from handmade wooden furniture, bottle trees, children’s and doll clothing, knitted hats and scarves, paintings, jewelry, bath and body products and lots

of home decor. “It’s not too early to shop for those one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts,” chairperson Brenda Parker said. Vendors will offer many unique Alabama and Auburn items. “A new craftsman for 2016 is Scott Phillips from Harvest. He makes exotic hardwood Space Shuttle models and replicas. I’m excited about this addition. Scott’s work is entirely unique from anything we’ve had before,” Parker said. (removebeforeflightbook.com)

Artist Alley will assemble visual artists, sculptors and designers with works in acrylic, watercolor, oil and pastel; jewelry; mixed media, cartooning; photography; pottery; and statuary. All entries are juried artwork. Youngsters flocking to the Children’s Area will enjoy make-and-take crafts, animal discovery, imagination playhouse and fun-filled attractions. The Student Art Tent proves the remarkable talent of Madison’s young visual artists.

“We’re adding a special RV from Madison Hospital for mothers to nurse and care for their babies,” Holcombe said. To alleviate traffic concernsAFTER and parking searches, shuttles buses will whisk visitors from off-site parking to drop-off stops at the festival.
