NEW STATIONERS’ COMPANY WARRANTS SCHEME The Stationers’ Company will shortly be launching their 2021 Warrants. If you believe you have a product or service that you would like officially recognised and promoted, make sure you save this date – 1st October 2020 The scheme will be open to any company in the Industry Sectors that the Stationers’ Company represents who believe they have a product or service that stands out, it doesn’t have to be new, but it does have to denote quality as the Warrants were established as a mark of recognition to highlight excellence within our industries. The Warrants will be awarded based on a set of criteria including original design and high-quality manufacturing/production techniques as well as things like appropriate and sustainable packaging

APPRENTICE ROSS BLACKWOOD JOINS RENZ Ross Blackwood has joined Renz (UK) on a two year BPIF Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. Starting on September 1st the apprenticeship training will be delivered by BOSS/ BPIF, the industry’s leading trade body of which Renz (UK) is a member. The BPIF is also the largest supplier of apprenticeships to the UK printing industry. Ross will be based at Renz’s brand new Luton premises. He will be mentored by Sales Office and Marketing Manager Stephen Partington who joined the business himself straight from school as a 16 year old. In his earlier years at Renz Stephen was awarded a Print Futures Training Bursary helping him to progress through the company. In his role Ross will be taught all aspects of the business and gain an overview from the ground up. Among his many duties he will be monitoring the progress of customer orders, inputting sales orders, assisting the sales team with enquiries, liaising with customers and monitoring stock levels

for the purchasing department. He will also assist with managing all aspects of the multiple Amazon platforms on which Renz has a presence. Iain Bullock, Renz (UK) Managing Director, says: “We are proud to be able to offer this great opportunity to a student keen to join the industry after sixth form. We are delighted to welcome Ross to our new Luton head office that spearheads our modernisation programme following 23 years

of trading in Hatfield Park. We are a small tight knit company that looks after our staff. We have employees who joined straight from school with limited academic qualifications in the past who now hold senior positions and have over 15 years’ service.” Dominic Wing, Higher & Degree Apprenticeship Manager, BOSS/BPIF, adds: “Having spoken with Iain we both felt there was a fabulous opportunity for the right person to succeed at Renz (UK). ROGER ALBERT NEW VP OF COLORGATE GLOBAL SALES ColorGATE, a vendor of powerful software and hardware products for colour critical digital printing applications, adds another well known industry expert to its management team: Roger Albert joined the company as VP of Global Sales and Business Development on June 1st. Roger brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the role. Roger’s professional career includes positions with Stork, Océ, Canon, Kornit Digital and GMG Color. He will report directly to ColorGATE’s Founder and CEO Thomas Kirschner and oversee all of ColorGATE’s sales activities relating to the direct, indirect and OEM channels. Roger’s primary objective will be building a well structured global sales organisation with a strong customer focus that will be able to handle ColorGATE’s future growth and new product offerings.
