Welcome to our Summer edition...

...which is packed full of family entertainment, activities, events and day’s out. There really is a lot going on in and around Wokingham this Summer, so where to start? Well, in addition to the shows, family fun days, outdoor cinemas, children’s sports, hobbies. holiday clubs and festivals, we also have an array of local people telling their stories and sharing experiences. What an absolutely amazing community and wealth of talent, inclusivity and diversity we have in our Borough, and it has been a privilege to meet and speak with so many people over the past few weeks and who are now among the many contributors and advertisers within this Summer edition of Wokingham Local magazine!

As the front cover states our main theme for this issue is ‘Summer Food’ and while we all love barbecue, there is so much more to offer over Summer, just ask resident butcher Charlie at Stefans. His pork roast with ‘crackle’ on page 27 is a winner any day of the week. Place your orders early and leave the preparation to him, as he says... “anyway you like it’’. Award winning Indian Kitchen ‘Bombay Story’ has authentic Indian street food as well as fine dining and just the most innovative cocktails to go with, whilst you sit back and relax, enjoying the peace and tranquil views of Peach Place. Holme Grange Craft Village introduces food and drink from the artisan shops and crafters, not to mention the famous ‘Chocolate Cafe’ in the courtyard. Have you visited yet? Then, for the children, our latest feature by Lavender Bakery ‘Ready, Steady, (KIDS) Bake’ and our strawberry ice-lollies, both with quick and easy recipes which are perfect for the little ones to try, and not to mention taste delicious, both just rounding off the Summer Food feast. What’s not to love?
