GALERIA DE AUTOR Thomas Hackenberg For me, a good street photo must be made candidly, captivate me at first glance and make me want to take that second look – like wanting to read a poem twice. It must raise more questions than provide answers. I like photos that tell a story in a single image, and I particularly adore humorous and quirky pictures and visual puns in everyday life. When I am out on the streets, I like chasing for the offbeat, on a quest to find some extravaganza in the ordinary, some fun element, some beautifully layered scene, some fleeting moment. WAS BORN IN 1963 AND LIVES IN THE GERMAN CITY OF BRAUNSCHWEIG. HIS WORK HAS BEEN WIDELY PUBLISHED, RECEIVED FINALIST AWARDS AND PRIZES AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS SUCH AS AT THE GOTHENBURG, ISTANBUL, ITALIAN, LONDON, MIAMI, AND PARIS STREET PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVALS, AND WAS EXHIBITED IN SEVERAL GROUP SHOWS.

7 magazine REPORTAGEM24 03.2022 I ALSO LIKE ORDINARY, THOUGH BEAUTIFULLY LAYERED STORY FROM THE LEFT- TO THE RIGHT-HAND CORNER INTERESTING SCENE THAT HITS MY EYE, OBSERVED THEATRE OF STREET LIFE THAT MIGHT ONLY EXIST THEY’RE GONE FOREVER.

LAYERED PICTURES WHICH TELL A CORNER OF THE IMAGE. ANY OBSERVED MOMENTS FROM THE GREAT EXIST FOR A SPLIT SECOND AND THEN

It’s the pleasure and anticipation of making a good street picture that drives me. The flow when I am completely in the moment and fully open and susceptible to life on the street. Standing on a corner, letting life flow towards me, observing and pressing the shutter at the right moment. After all, it’s all about curiosity. It’s all about finding out what life has in store for me on any given day – I'm eager to see what’s around the next corner."

First of all, I photographed rather abstract compositions and deserted "non-places", also small artificial paradises, created by man. After some time, people "crept" gradually into my pictures and at some point I realized that this is exactly what thrills me. The whole thing has developed into a real passion and I can hardly imagine my life without this kind of Iphotography.amfascinated by such situations that seem to come across as trivial and yet create a cosmos of their own. Pictures that tell stories, that make people's dreams, longings, and worries tangible and often reflect life in all its absurdity.

16 magazine REPORTAGEM 3303.20202

To recognize these fleeting moments, while at the same time keeping an eye on formal aspects such as light and shadow, the arrangement of perceivable shapes and colors, and then to press the shutter release at the right moment, is always a real challenge and for me the greatest happiness when it succeeds. I am very happy that in the last few years I have been able to participate in several international group exhibitions with my work and that I have made it to the final round in some competitions.

Francesca Chiacchio I started shooting and developing photos while studying architecture in Naples, Italy. After graduating, I attended a photography class and participated to two collective exhibitions. From 1999 to 2007 I lived in NYC working as an architect. Back in Naples, in 2015 I approached Street Photography and in 2017 I bought my first professional digital camera and started to attend several photography workshops (Vineet & Rohit Vohra from APF Magazine, Nikos Economopoulos from Magnum Photos, Francesco Cito, Salvatore Matarazzo from Full Frontal Flash). Since 2019 I have beenparticipating in various Street Photography group exhibitions (“Street Sans Frontieres 2019” Paris; “Double Trouble” at StreetFoto San Francisco 2019; “Short Street Stories” at Trieste Photo Days 2019; “Women Street Photographers” at Brussels Street Photography Festival 2019; and more) and my work has been published both online and in print. I am part of the "Women in Street" community, founded and curated by Casey Meshbesher, Julia Coddington and Rebecca Wilthsire, and I am a member of an international street photography collective called "Through The Lands", which aims to connect 15 photographers from all over the world to show their unique P.O.V. of the countries they visit.

When you shoot in places where people don’t care about you shooting or they are even happy if you do it, it’s a totally different feeling. I also like using flash and, in these occasions, I can do that more easily.

Lately I have been shooting also during events. I feel safer and more comfortable, because I am a very shy and sensitive person and street photography for me sometimes is hard. I constantly worry about people’s reactions, and as a street photographer you always get some.
