For Kadhi Yogurt (curd) Gram flour (besan) Turmeric powder Salt Oil Fenugreek seeds (methi seeds) Cumin seeds Dried red chilies Black peppercorns Curry leaves Ginger Red chilli powder Sugar

Mix all the ingredients except oil in a bowl with about half a cup of water. Heat oil in a non-stick pan for deep frying. Put small scoops of the mixture in oil and fry till golden brown. Remove and place them on a absorbent paper and set aside.

Whisk the sour yogurt with besan well and ensure that there are no lumps. Add turmeric powder, salt, sugar and three cups of water to it. Heat 2 tsp oil in a kadai. Add fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, black peppercorns, dried red chilies, curry leaves stir fry and stir fry for a minute. Add the yogurt mixture and bring to boil and simmer on low flame for 15 mins, stirring occasionally. Add the red chilli powder and fried pakoras and simmer for 5 mins. Serve hot with steamed rice or rotis.
