Peerless Innovation & the Magic Millions Race Series go hand-in-hand

The latest world-first innovations are set to make their mark at the 2023 edition of The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday, driving the racemeeting’s participation and reach to its highest ever levels.

Saturday 14 January 2023 will see the inaugural running of two new feature races, the $1m Magic Millions The Syndicate and the $500,000 Magic Millions The Debut. The addition of these two new world-first races makes The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday a ten race card worth a staggering $11.75m – and the only racemeeting in Australia to stage eight million dollar plus races on the one program.

A key objective behind the development of The Syndicate and The Debut by Magic Millions and Racing Queensland was to create new avenues for expanded participation across all levels on a major raceday and to further support industry growth with a stimulus for both investment and reinvestment in ownership.

Restricted to horses (3YOs & up) owned by a minimum of 20 individual registered owners and/or syndicate members (including micro-syndication), the $1m Magic Millions The Syndicate (1200m) will create the world’s largest ownership experience across one race.

Importantly the concept aims to incentivise and reward the establishment of large ownership groups by syndicators and trainers at the time of yearling purchase, with recognition that such groups provide vital accessibility and affordability to racing quality bloodstock, and in bringing large groups of owners together on a special shared journey that is all about the horse.

The $500,000 Magic Millions The Debut (900m), for unraced 2YOs, will see the introduction of pure excitement and speed to the Raceday, and become the world’s richest 2YO maiden. Imagine the anticipation of watching your horse line up for the first time on one of the biggest racedays in Australia, racing for half a million dollars! The Debut provides owners with the ultimate opportunity for an early return and an unforgettable ownership experience.

The Syndicate and The Debut are part of a national series of 26 races annually spanning six states, for nominated graduates of Magic Millions Yearling Sales.
