We’ve got a special Valentine’s story for you... “HOW TO CATCH A CHEATER!” We interviewed Raul Reyna from GOTCHA INVESTIGATIONS to get the low down on those who are “getting down” with people outside their relationships. He provided us with pics that we altered, blured and made unregognizable to protect the identities of those who succumed to his expert P.I. techniques and got BUSTED!!! Hopefully his expert info will help you identify if you are getting cheated on. It’s better to know than not know.

This weekend’s NFL Pro Bowl might be one of the more useless spectacles in American sport, but since there’s nothing at stake, the NFC coaches allowed Michael Vick to strap a ContourHD 1080p camera to his helmet during practice -- and the resulting few moments of footage are pretty awesome, if you’re a football fan. SEVENDUST IS BY FAR THE HARDEST WORKING BAND IN METAL. WITH 8 ALBUMS, YEARS ON THE ROAD, AND A WORK ETHIC LIKE NO OTHER SEVENDUST HAS QUICKLY SOLIDIFIED THEMSELVES AS FAN FAVORITES. YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND THIS BAND WAITING FOR THEIR FANS TO RECIEVE AUTOGRAPHS, PICTURES, OR WHATEVER THEY NEED.
“i tHink it’s ridiculous. we don’t consider us above anyone. I’M just a guy who putS together ideas and thoughts through music.” -CLINT LOWERY | SEVENDUST
How’s your tour going so far? Today’s the first day of our tour and we’re pretty excited about it. This past November [my wife and] I had a baby boy. So I’m only going to have the chance to play the first show and our good friend Brad Colmette is going to fill in so I can spend some time with my family. We don’t ever have that much time off so I will definitely enjoy it. Cold Day Memory is your 8th album do you ever find it hard to write albums or is just something that flows through you? There’s different aspects really. It’s hard to keep it

fresh and new with that many records under your belt. I was lucky in that, I was gone for 3 of those albums so coming back was easy. I got to get a fresh energy. This last album [Cold Day Memory] came through pretty effortlessly. We got the original lineup going and it’s easier. The next one is going to be challenging. It’s always hard to write something new while staying true to who we are. What was the inspiration behind the new record? We always pull from situations we’ve seen or our surroundings and personal experiences. It’s an assortment of things. We adMORE ONLINE @ WWW.MAGXONLINE.COM
dress the condition of the world a lot on this record so it’s a cool album for that. What is it that drove you to rejoin your Sevendust brothers? They were my friends and brothers for a long time and it had already been 3 years since I was gone. First Morgan and I talked about life and explained some issues that were going on and moving past it. It was hard to let Sonny know that I was coming back, but we all felt we needed to reconnect with our original vision. How do you distinguish what will be on your side project Hello Demons, meet Skeletons and what will be in Sevendust? Well with Sevendust we can go so many directions. Lajon’s voice is so versatile. Many times the cycles are opposites. I try to keep the sessions between Hello Demons and Sevendust far apart. But if I write something that’s very Sevendust then it will definitely be for us. Now since I’m down with Cold Day Memory I’m finishing up the Hello Demons EP but it doesn’t in-

terfere at all. You guys are known for always going above and beyond for the fans, how important do you feel it is for fans to know that your approachable as opposed to the rock star mentality? I think it’s ridiculous we don’t consider us above anyone. I’m just a guy who puts together ideas and thoughts through music. We like to have humility. I’ve been up and down like everyone else, and I’m appreciative of our fans. They are so cool. I like pulling from their energy they are the reason we get to feed our kids. I know a lot of bands say that but we genuinely mean it. You all are definite favorites to the valley people, of the times you’ve played here in McAllen what’s your favorite memory? I always remember the McAllen crowds being out of control! Which isn’t a bad thing. We know what we’re in for Texas always does it bigger. The plan is always to play a show in somewhere that isn’t a major city. The reason we
choose to do this is that it’s always awesome. What made you choose to do Music as a Weapon? It kind of chose us really. I toured as a member Korn and Disturbed have always been good friends of ours. We’re big fans of all the bands on the gig and the people in all the bands. It was a no brainer for us really, it’s a popular concert to play with people we respect. What was it like being a touring member of KORN? It was cool, was more of a job really, not a band situation. The band was always cool to me. They’re trying to keep their best version of Korn going and I don’t think I would’ve chose the direction they went with all the excess musicians and things. But, I did have a good time playing their songs and they’re cool people. I wouldn’t say I wanted to do it to better
my career, What was the experience like recording A song for Chi? Basically Fieldy [Bassist, Korn] put the thing together he dropped by with an M-Box and a ProTools rig and we just kind of improvised but it was a cool and unique idea to be a part of. The video for “Falcons on Top” is cool, What gave you all the idea to do that? It’s not something we typically do. There wasn’t much to it. We were approached by the team and they’re our home town team so we decided to do it. It’s nice to do something that’s tongue-in-cheek. We’re very excited to come back to McAllen. It’s always great playing for you guys. We have so much respect for you all. SEE YOU SOON!

Tell me a little bit about your background as far as what you used to do before you started doing this? My name is Raul Reyna, I own and operate Gotcha! Investigations. Previous to that, I had 11 years of service with the federal government as both a US customs inspector, and a US border patrol agent. Previous to that, I was a police officer for the City of Alamo, and I put myself through school at Pan Am as a detention officer at the Hidalgo County jail. I have a BA in Political Science and a minor in Justice. I have 25 years of law enforcement experience. I taught law enforcement for 4 years at Johnny Economedes High school, and going on 5 years, I've been a private investigator. So pretty much if somebody is doing something wrong, you're going to find it? I cover everything. I taught criminal investigations so a lot of local attorneys hire me for murder and possession cases. I get hired by local attorneys to do traffic accident investigations where I come in and re-create

the accident. Investigators who are employed by local police department will go in and assist me if it's a big case, like a murder case. I've had five big murder cases in the past 3 years. I'm certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau as a private investigator, and cheating spouses is my bread and butter work. Every day it's cheating spouses. That's what pays the bills. It's the other cases that I'll get occasionally, maybe once a month I'll get a criminal case. Percentage wise, how many of your cases are related to cheating? Right now I'd say 90% are male clients coming in to check up on their wife. By the time they actually find me in a phone book or a website and contact me, it's happening, there is no doubt. There's never been a case where I follow somebody and they weren't cheating. The signs are there and you've got to look for the signs. That brings me to my next question; what are the signs?
They're very obvious. The first thing you've got to look at is the cell phone. Your wife or your husband all of a sudden becomes very protective of his/her cell phone. They put a lock on it, change the password, they're getting text messages on it late at night, or they're off in the back yard to smoke a cigarette but they're on the cell phone. If they put a lock on it, it's for a reason. That's the first sign. Other signs are a change in appearance because they're going to start to work out, lose weight, get new clothing. Their appearance changes because they're trying to please the new person. And, of course, they're disappearing. They leave and tell you they're going to the store, but all of a sudden they're not answering their phone, or text messages. Also a change in attitude. They don't want to be intimate anymore. That's a sure sign there's another person involved. Where is the cheating taking place, and with who? Most of the time they're cheating with somebody at work. I'd say 80% of cases are work related. They take
trips together. Here in the valley, the place they disappear to that we know they're going to be is South Padre Island. I guess they figure that once they cross the causeway it's a different country, or maybe people won't know them over there, but it really doesn't matter because we already have a tracking device on their vehicle. They could be pretty much anywhere and we show up and take the video and the photos, and of course I provide that to my clients. 85%-90% of my clients are male, but a lot of my female clients have spouses in the medical profession. Those individuals in the medical profession have the ability to be gone for hours at a time and have more money to spend. I don't know if it's like impulse buying, but they gravitate towards women that are young, uneducated and have a lot of "enhancements." Almost all of them have beautiful wives at home, waiting for them, taking care of the family. Of course they're lover is out there waiting tables, just getting by.
MAGX #63 • FEBRUARY 2011 • PG.19
Tell me about some of the equipment that you use. You need high quality equipment to get a good picture, because these cases are going to be taken to court. They're fighting for custody, property, money and they want to blame each other for the marriage failing. I provide pictures and video. It's not like cheaters where you're right on them. They don't even know that they're being photographed. We're a block away. The time they know is when we show up in court, and I'm there to present evidence. Tell me a little bit about tracking devices. The one that I have is very expensive because it's one that a lot of federal agencies use, and it has the
ability to track for a month. They go inside a carrying case thats magnetized, and that goes under the vehicle. You get the GPS signal straight to a website on your computer. The legality of it is that they still have to be married. Most of the time I get my clients to put the tracking device on the vehicle themselves for that reason. Something anyone can do is get a voice activated digital recorder. Throw it under the seat and listen to the conversations at the end of the day. People feel protected when they're in the car, windows up, and the first thing they do is get on the cell phone and start talking to the other person. You'll pick up the who, what, when, where, and that will help me show up and get the evidence that you need to go to court.
Tell me about the holidays. Christmas and Thanksgiving aren't that big. The cheating is still going on, but because everybody's spending money on their families; buying gifts, christmas trees and Thanksgiving turkeys. They don't spend it on professionals to go out there and catch their spouse cheating. Valentine's is a big one because you not only have to buy a gift for your husband or wife, but you're sancho and ?? They're also going to have to spend some quality time with that person the day before, or after, so they don't feel left out on the holiday.
In most cases do the other people know that the other person is in a relationship or married? Yes, a lot of the times they know the person is married. They're trying to win the affection of that person and have them leave their spouse. That's most of the cases, especially with professionals, when they're trying to get to the money.
SOME OF THE EQUIPMENT RAUL USES IN HIS INVESTIGATIONS. Tracking Device, How powered cameras and lenses
