EDITOR It is with immense gratitude that we are able to bring this magazine to our readers. After the year that will be talked about for lifetimes ahead, I don’t know if people are more excited to attend a wedding or whisk away to a fresh location. So, we wanted to do a magazine that celebrates both. Sunscreen? Check! Wide-brimmed Hat? Check! Bright colored pedicure? Check! Bags packed? Check! Passport in hand? Check! The celebrations and destinations in this issue are simply to die for. Exploding with ideas, you will want to have your Pinterest boards ready! As the heaviness of Corona began to dissipate in 2021, people came back to gather at weddings. It was on sandy beaches, in fields of wildflowers, alongside rust colored deserts, and with mountain backdrops that gave us the vision of the future. After the lockdowns of 2020, the world wholeheartedly welcomed these celebrations! Bring on weddings! Planning during a pandemic requires something special and our couples beamed with flexibility and creativity. Whether it was Sonam reworking her beachside dream from Cabo San Lucas to Laguna Beach in only 8 short weeks, or just a few flips away, Marisha’s destination dreams were moved to nearby Florida. All of the 2021 couples deserve a hand for their cooperation and openness to let the wedding just be. Vendors played a key role in bringing these wedding dreams to reality and I heard story after story of vendors who leaned into their couples and went above and beyond for them. Wedding vendors please take a bow! And speaking of vendors, experience paid off and the oldies but goodies are the ones that really shined. “Do what you want and don’t let others influence a decision just to make them happy – big families have lots of opinions but at the end of the day, it is your wedding so make it yours. Also, make sure to have alone time with the groom during the day – we had lunch alone together after our ceremony before getting ready for the Christian ceremony and reception and it was perfect.“

When this med student and nurse met, they didn’t know that study dates would turn into the biggest moment in their lives. After many home cooked meals by Zach, it was a walk down a Mexican beach when it all hit our bride and the pieces of a surprise engagement started coming together. After instantly crying, laughing and saying yes simultaneously, the couple flew back to celebrate their engagement over the Christmas holidays with their families and friends. The bride always wanted a destination wedding, but when logistics came into play the couple decided to keep it in Florida, so it gave them all the destination feels with more control over the planning process. A simple coffee meeting with the planner and photographer made the bride’s selection easy. She said they instantly clicked and they were the best decision hands down. The bride always envisioned herself in a a yellow lengha. And, she was committed to finding the perfect one! After shopping trips to New Jersey, New York and Toronto left her empty handed. She went to Vancouver to find the special number. Vivah made the process easy and fun for the bride as she was able to create custom outfits for her Sangeet and Wedding. From the live band at the reception to the sangeet dances, this couple enjoyed every moment of their celebration. Congratulations Marisha & Zach.

This long distance couple, Nashville to New York, is what great teams are made of. Seamlessly navigating the pandemic, Soha and Sandeep, sat down to nightly wedding meetings to go over lists upon lists. They tackled planning this wedding in only 8 short weeks, and learned together they are ready for anything life throws their way. The iconic Breaker Hotel set the stage for the glorious event. Their Mehndi and Sangeet were smaller scale events at the brides home. The ceremony was bursting with color. Bold flowers, the Breakers magically ocean setting, and a mandap dripping with flowers was the perfect setting to exchange vows. But, when it came to the reception they wanted a different feel. The Breakers historical setting of old world romance inspired the couple to choose pastel colored flowers, lighted candles and created an elegance not only in the decor but in the aurora of the celebration as well. Personal touches were added everywhere. Shawls, coordinated masks, and hand sanitizer were individually passed out at the outside wedding ceremony. While, the reception was filled with details like table names originated from places they had traveled to and a livestream for 200 of their closest family and friends. A true Maharani bride, Soha asked Designs by Andrea to press her bouquet in order to ensure its preservation. Congratulations Soha & Sandeep.

Never say never when it comes to bridal shopping. The bride reports she never wanted to wear red down the aisle. She always saw herself in either blush or ivory but once the outdoor fall foliage was factored in red became a winning option. And, we are so glad she did. Our stunning cover bride, Khushboo, always thought she would go to India to shop for her wedding trousseau. But in 2021, she did what every modern bride does...she found her lengha on Instagram. The second she saw it she knew it was “the one.” The Bollywood Closet in Atlanta helped her secure the outfit and work with the Sabyasachi team in Kolkata. Midnight fittings and constant WhatsApp messaging ensued. Finally the lengha arrived a month before the wedding and it fit like a glove. Hats off to Studio Monrevi for capturing this timeless wedding. Congratulations Khushboo & Nikhil.

Ami and Krishna’s wedding affair was bursting with pre-pandemic style that left nothing left to chance. The bride wanted to create a beautiful ocean front ceremony with loose, natural fresh cut florals dripping with pinks, soft shades of blush, elegant violet and loads of greenery. A rustic yet chic custom wood Mandap set the stage with violet draping and flourishing, asymmetrical florals on each side. The overall look was completed with tufted ivory furniture to give it that royal, Maharani touch. To keep guests out of the summer sun, a violet & ivory canopy provided shade and added graceful ambiance to the set up. The majestic ceremony was completed with personal bouquets and garlands to match. Ivory, linen white, and leaf green set the tone for the beautiful reception. The team from 2Create Designs fabricated a custom stage with a large three dimensional gold frame along the back. Cascading florals and greenery lined the top and down both sides in a contemporary spiral pattern. Chandeliers were suspended from the frame to bring that grand sense style. After all, more is more! A tufted white loveseat for the couple, long side tables with extensive floral arrangements & candles, and large floating candle clusters along the front of the stage brought all the romantic feels to this reception. A seamless white dance floor with custom decal complimented the look, while nearby tables were adorned with a mix of tall and low arrangements in lush whites, classic ivories, and gold vessels. No wedding diets over here as this reception that is a true feast for any Maharanis eyes! Congratulations Ami & Krishna. 115

They were supposed to get married in 2020 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, but the wedding got postponed multiple times due to COVID-19. They finally decided just 2 months before their wedding, to cancel their Cabo wedding date and move it to Southern California, where they reside. And within a few weeks, with the trusted team of Ethnic Essence by her side, the bride and groom created an elegant, beach side affair in Dana Point, California. Despite the short timeline, the bride wasn’t going to settle for anything cookie cutter, and she wanted something unique for all her wedding events. The vision for the decor was more a boho chic vibe, pampas and earthy tones all throughout the ceremony, she wore a royal blue Sabyasachi and her groom wore pink, and a jungle theme for the reception.
