Ross Restoration Maketewah Members, The Board of Directors would like to thank all those members who have given their time and effort over the last several weeks, months and years working towards the proposed “Ross Restoration”. We would also like to thank all those members who have supplied feedback through committee involvement, attendance at the town hall meetings, and personal interactions. Finally, we would like to thank all those members who cast their vote on the proposed “Ross Restoration” over the last four weeks. We received votes from 80% of the voting membership and the project received a 67% approval rating. The Board of Directors convened for a special meeting on Wednesday, June 30th and are pleased to announce the approval of the following resolution:

Resolution of the Board of Directors of Maketewah Country Club Whereas the Board proposed a capital improvement plan known as the “Ross Restoration;” and, Whereas the Board made available to the membership of Maketewah Country Club information describing aspects of the Ross Restoration via a 20-page publication (hereafter “the Ross Restoration Handbook” (also attached as Addendum A hereto)) and in 4 “town hall” meetings to which all members were invited; and, Whereas the Board solicited votes from eligible members as to their votes on “Ross Restoration” program, including the scope, budget, planned project delivery timelines, and the funding mechanisms (including the individual member options) (as reflected in the Ross Restoration Handbook (and further outlined below)); and, Whereas 80% of the eligible voting members submitted their votes, with 67% of the votes in favor of the Club proceeding with the Ross Restoration program; and, Whereas the Board of Directors has met and agreed that the following clarifications and supplemental information to the Ross Restoration program were already within the intention of the delivery, scope, budget, and funding plan of and for the Ross Restoration program: • The scope of the projects will not be materially revised, and if any such revisions are contemplated in the future, such revisions will be considered within the framework of the Club’s bylaws. • The minor capital assessment will not be assessed to the membership in 2022. • The monthly individual member Special Assessment Options indicated on page 18 of the Ross Restoration Handbook will be assessed for a maximum of 120 months. • The billing for the Special Assessment Option for the “Monthly Payment” will commence with the July 2021 statements. • The Special Assessment Option for a “One-time Payment” must be elected by July 31st, 2021, with the funds received by the Club, no later than August 20, 2021, with payment of the July statement. Should the Club not receive payment by the date of the one-time payment, then the Club will assume that the member has agreed to the “Monthly Payment” option. • A Special Assessment payment option of 2 equal installments will be offered and must be elected by July 31st, 2021. Installments will be billed on the July 2021 statements, with the funds received by the Club, no later than August 20, 2021, with payment of the July statement, and December 2021 statements with funds received by the Club no later than January 20th, 2022, with payment of the December statement. Now then, by the unanimous yea votes of the Board of Directors, the Board of Directors hereby resolves that Maketewah Country Club will proceed with implementing the Ross Restoration Program as declared in this resolution. ________________________________ Geoff Kuzio 5 President, Maketewah Board of Directors

Get to know the new men’s Xavier golf coach, Brian Arlinghaus Q&A with Brian below

1. Where did you grow up/family life: Born and raised in Cincinnati. Reading, to be exact. Went to grade school at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH) in Reading and went to High School at Moeller. 2. Do you have any hobbies: Obviously, golf is my biggest hobby, but outside of that, I love live music. I’m a big Phish and Grateful Dead fan, but I also love the Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, and many other artists. I also play guitar. Not as much as I use to, but I still enjoy playing. 3. Do you have a favorite sports team: Growing up, I was a huge fan of the New York Jets & Cincinnati Bengals, but I have decided a life of NFL agnosticism is best for me and my wellbeing on Sunday afternoons. I still love the Cincinnati Reds, and I’m convinced that Cincinnati is truly a baseball town. When the Reds are in contention, there is no more fun place to be than Great American Ballpark. 4. What is your biggest accomplishment within your career: Building the program at Wright State and winning the Horizon League Conference Championship in 2019 are easy choices. I put a ton of work and effort into growing that program and am immensely proud of it. Having said that, the thing I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve been able to build and maintain with my former players. They’ve become very close friends, and I enjoy being a mentor to them, introducing them to my network, and helping them build their careers. In fact, two of my former players are now coaches! One is the head golf coach at Wright State, and one is the head golf coach at Centerville High School. THAT makes me proud. 5. What is your favorite thing about your current job position: The opportunity to bring a program with a rich history of success fires me up every day. I know we can build a program that our current student body, faculty & staff, and Maketewah membership can be proud of and are excited to follow. I’m excited about positively impacting the lives of these student-athletes and creating a championship culture that attracts talent from across the country.

Welcome! Coach Brian Arlinghaus Xavier University

Notes From Your...

Membership Director Happy August, Mak Members! We have had some beautiful sunny and hot days lately! Make sure to keep hydrated out there on the course. A dip in the pool after your round is the perfect way to cool off! I had the pleasure of hosting our first monthly wait lister golf outing in July, which was a hole-in-one ( pun absolutely intended)! I will be hosting monthly social activities with those currently on the waitlist to keep them engaged with the club and focus on retention. It’s a great way to introduce them to other members, the staff, and the way of life here at Mak! Make sure to stop by and say hello if you see us out and about! I am really looking forward to our Summer Luau party on August 21st! You definitely do not want to miss it! We have a two-man steel drum band by the pool from 6-8 pm for the adult pool party and a FULL band (who are amazing, btw) under the terrace from 8-11 pm! All kinds of great food planned.. it will be a lot of fun! Make sure to come in your BEST Hawaiian outfits! Mr. Arends and Mr. Randolph… I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Let's make it fun and have a great party!!! See you there!!

Warm Regards,

Melissa Paule 13

We hope to grow our team and would love to include new swimmers and their families in on the fun! Watch for a swim team get together late fall and a kick off party in early spring. The swim season will consist of six dual meets and a championship meet starting in early June and ending in mid-July. All abilities and availabilities are welcome!
