Featured Developer: SpacieStacy

We are thrilled to present SpacieStacy as our featured developer! Be sure to shop her imaginative and wild catty!

LA Trends would like to welcome the fabulous SpacieStacy as our first featured developer. She has graciously agreed to answer a few questions for us. Tell us a little about yourself. Well now about me, I think I started my journey with IMVU for different reasons than most. From the moment I saw what IMVU had to offer - endless possible creativity...I was hooked. The social side of IMVU I kept a mystery. I think at that point almost 6 years ago I was terrified of online chats. It seems silly to me now that I went to such lengths to stay hidden. My creativity really came to life when PhotoStream was introduced. It proved the perfect digital canvas and opened the door to the social side IMVU has to offer. I’m not sure what was my final push to start developing, but once I did start I didn’t look back. Each outfit is seen as art and I enjoy testing the limits of what IMVU has to offer. After almost 2 years of developing, I have found that I enjoy being master of my own creations. My next step would be to learn to mesh, but I’m having too much fun at this point. I do see learning to mesh in the future.

What inspires your fantastic imagination? I don’t think it’s a surprise that I enjoy exciting looks. I’m a huge fan of following my own path and my path includes wild, surreal and at times, craziness. I believe my inspiration is mainly pulled from what I personally enjoy. That could be anything that excites me. Having no pre-set rules and being interested in all avenues of art does help.

What is your biggest pet-peeve about creating on IMVU? My biggest pet-peeve would have to be...my creativity is bound by the available meshes. I would have an idea of what I wanted to accomplish and many times I find that the mesh doesn’t exist or I can’t get it to work with an existing one. So in short, having to compromise on my original desires would be my biggest. Another would be my own limitations. Being self-taught, I run into learning new things with almost each outfit. Most times the things I do create, it’s just to see if I can. So I’m always learning, always trying new and different things. Its very frustrating when I cant figure something out. IMVU resources are not the best but I do eventually get there, it just takes time and patience.

What are your favorite guilty pleasures and why? Does being in a dark room surrounded by food that is really bad for you… with a new exciting horror movie playing count? HEHE.

What is the nicest compliment you have ever received? This is easy for me to answer, and is really in two parts. One, a dear friend had once said that each creation I do is like looking at a piece of art. And two, it’s a huge compliment when someone takes my original vision and creates their own. Nothing makes me happier than to feel like I had a part in someone else creating art.

Thanks again to SpacieStacy for joining us in this issue. Please enjoy her amazing creations.
