Ob Bill Haley das wusste? Ob ihm, dem Musiker aus Nordamerika und seiner Band "The Comets" wohl klar war, dass sie an diesem 12. April im Jahr 1954 in einem Studio in New York an einer tiefgreifenden Veränderung in der Musikwelt bastelten? An einer neuen Ära und einer Zeitenwende im Denken und Leben? Im Nachhinein jedenfalls weiß es jeder: Mit ihrem Song „Rock Around The Clock“ brachten sie die Musikwelt zum Beben, die Gesellschaft zum Wanken und die Menschen zum Nach- und Umdenken.

Did this North American musician and his band "The Comets" realise that on April 12th, 1954, in a small New York studio, they were working on a profound transformation of the music scene? On a new era and new ways of thinking and living? Of course in retrospect everyone understands. With their song “Rock Around The Clock” they shook up the music world, sent society into a spin and made people reconsider the way they think and live.

Rock ’n‘ Roll. Er kam wie ein kleiner Urknall. Und brachte die Zeit des Umbruchs. Der jungen Wilden. Der eigenen Wege. Die Zeit der Lebenslust. Graham Nash sagte dazu: „Rock ’n‘ Roll ist hauptsächlich eine Einstellung. Eine Einstellung zum Leben selbst, das sich gegen den Status Quo (…) stellt.“

Rock ‘n’ Roll, it was like a big bang and it ushered in a time of transformation for the young wild ones. It was a time of living larger and going ones own way. Graham Nash commented: “Rock ‘n’ Roll is mainly an attitude. A lot of attitude in Rock ‘n’ Roll is against the status quo.”

Und wir merken: Wir haben wieder so einen Moment, in dem sich etwas verändert. So manche Entwicklung in der Outdoorwelt muss kritisch hinterfragt und ein neues Bewusstsein geschaffen werden. Wir glauben, dass viel Positives in dieser Bewegung steckt und wir werden auch in Zukunft unseren Teil dazu beitragen, damit sich dieser Trend fortsetzt.

At maloja we notice that the apparel industry is at a moment where change is taking place. Many of the new developments in the outdoor world are being critically scrutinised for authenticity and thus a new movement in awareness is being created. Since our beginning we have believed in this movement’s many positive elements and we will continue to contribute our part.

Es ist aber nicht nur die Musikepoche und die damit verbundene Veränderung, die uns dazu bewegt hat, Rock & Roll zum Thema für unsere neue Kollektion zu machen. Der Begriff Rock & Roll umschreibt darüber hinaus vieles von dem, was uns täglich antreibt. Da sind:

It was not just the musical epoch and the associated transformation that moved us to focus on Rock & Roll as the theme for our new collection. The term Rock & Roll refers to so many things that inspire us daily.

Der Rock – der Fels. Er passt zu uns. Symbolisch steht er für Outdoor, das Klettern und die Berge. Denn in den Bergen fühlen wir uns zu Hause. Ihnen bleiben wir natürlich auch mit unserer neuen Sommerkollektion verbunden.

Rock – The stones and boulders resonate with us as they symbolize the outdoors, climbing and being at home in the mountains. A root theme of maloja and one we continue to associate with in our new summer collection.

Roll – steht für Bewegung, für Leichtigkeit und natürlich auch fürs Biken. Ob Mountainbike, Rennrad oder Freeride: Alle Formen haben ihre eigene Faszination. Hauptsache, es rockt – und rollt natürlich.

Roll – the freedom of movement symbolized through all forms of cycling whether it be Mountain Biking, Road Biking or Freeriding – each one fascinating and embodiing the essence of what it is to rock and roll.

Es ist auch der Style des Rock ‘n‘ Rolls, der uns fasziniert hat. Schon immer haben die 60er Jahre unsere Designsprache stark geprägt. Da war es nur ein kleiner Schritt in die frühe Zeit des Rock ‘n‘ Roll zwischen 1955 und 1960.

Finally, the style introduced by the era of Rock 'n' Roll captivated us. The 1960s have characterised our designs from the beginning so it was only natural to take a small step back in time to enter the early world of Rock 'n' Roll between 1955 and 1960.

Wir fanden einzigartige Kiefernzapfen, entdeckten blaublühenden Enzian und Alpenrosen. Vollendet wurde das Bouquet durch ein Edelweiß. Der Blick auf das traumhafte Alpenpanorama lieferte uns die Basis unserer Inspiration; die Keimzelle des maloja-Gefühls! E: Equipped with a sketchbook, pencil and watercolour we set out on a hike and captured the flora of the mountains for the new maloja prints. We found unique pine cones, discovered Blue Gentian and Alpine Roses. We completed the bouquet with Edelweiss. The breathtaking alpine panorama is the base of our inspiration; the nucleus of the maloja feeling!

Das exklusive Shock Absorbing System bietet maximalen Schutz und nimmt 90% der Aufprallenergie auf, während gleichzeitig Vibrationen reduziert werden. Zusätzlich zu den Polsterungen im Beckenbereich ist jetzt auch der Schambein Bereich mit S.A.T. ausgestattet. Auch wurde die Konstruktion des Polsters grundlegend verändert. Die Oberseite ist flacher, was zu weniger Reibung auf der Haut führt. Zudem wurde die Polsterung auf der Unterseite neu aufgebaut. Es ist bi-elastisch, nahtlos, antibakteriell und bietet maximalen Komfort sogar auf langen Strecken. Eine neue, feinere Lochung bietet beste Feuchtigkeitsregulierung. Der Drytex Oberstoff ist angenehm weich, schnelltrocknend und verfügt über eine hohe Atmungsaktivität.

Siliconized Skin Strap

The exclusive Shock Absorbing System provides maximum protection and retains 90% of the impact energy, whilst reducing vibrations. Additional to the padding in the pelvic area the pubic bone area was also equipped with S.A.T. The overall pad construction has fundamentally changed with the topside becoming flatter to reduce skin friction. The padding on bottom side has also been reconstructed. It is bi-elastic, seamless, and antibacterial, which offers maximum comfort even on long tours. Additionally increased fine perforation provides excellent moisture management. The Drytex outer fabric is comfortable, soft, fast-drying and has high breathability.

E: Collin is a product from a relief project for Armenians, supported by the German manufacturing company Grasegger. 40 hours of work and craftsmanship go into the production of just one jacket. The name of the knitter is sewn into the collarband of each jacket.
