Welcome to

Manchester International Film Festival

The growth of the festival since we launched has been amazing, as well as the support of so many talented filmmakers we couldn’t have done it without some fantastic partners. Manchester has such a supportive community and it’s great to be working again with Odeon, The Great Northern Warehouse, Rosso, City Suites, and King Street Townhouse as well as welcoming Loft Interiors, VS Social and Manchester Studios into the MANIFF family. Together we will make the 5th Manchester Film Festival an event to remember!

A big warm welcome once again to the annual Manchester Film Festival. For the first time the event will take place over a week, testament to MANIFF’s growth over its short history and the strength of films submitted. After five years, together we have developed a reputation amongst the international independent filmmaking community as a friendly, big hearted festival with a personal touch and party vibes. MANIFF2019 will be no different and sees the festival continue its policy of not branding and stranding its official selection, allowing films to stand side by side, free from genre barriers. This edition’s line-up is the perfect example of what we set out to achieve five years ago – a showcase of the most honest and eclectic independent films from around the world. On behalf of the festival and its hard-working staff and volunteers, may we take this opportunity to thank all the amazingly talented filmmakers for sharing their outstanding work with us here in Manchester. Here’s to yet another celebration of fantastic independent film. A l Ba i l e y P r o g r a m m i n g D i r ecto r MANIFF2019
