NEW ELECTRONIC eID FOR CYPRUS CITIZENS
Cypriot citizens can apply for electronic IDs to electronically sign documents and access governmental services online.
The first 100,000 eIDs will be state subsidised with 30,000 issued completely free of charge and another 70,000 at a cost of €15. The price for eIDs valid for three years will then rise to €50.
Applications are made through the JCC Trust Portal, but there’s one extra step —you’ll need to book an appointment at a Citizen Service Center (CSC) to verify your identity in person. A simple video guide, with English subtitles, is also available to help you through the process.
How to apply:
1. Set up your account: Go to the JCC Trust Portal and create an account.
2. Download the app: Install the JCC Authenticator app from your phone’s app store.
3. Secure your account: Use the app to turn on two-factor authentication.
4. Start your application: Follow the simple steps on the JCC Trust Portal.
5. Submit your details: Upload photos of your biometric ID (front and back) and fill out the required information.
6. Authorize your application: Open the JCC app, log in, and enter your username.
7. Verify codes: Enter the two 6-digit codes sent to you by SMS and email.
8. Schedule your CSC appointment: Print your application and book an appointment online to visit a Citizen Service Center within 30 days. Bring your ID and printed application with you.
9. Complete your eID setup: After your CSC appointment, you’ll get an SMS and email telling you your eID is ready. Log back into the JCC Trust Portal to activate it within five days.

The digital ID will let you sign documents electronically and handle lots of government services without the hassle of paperwork. This includes:
- Registering as self-employed or an employer.
- Applying for allowances like paternity, disability, or widows’ pensions.
- Submitting claims for redundancy, leave payments, or other benefits. The government hopes the eID will make accessing services faster and easier while cutting down on bureaucracy.

Are you originally from Cyprus and if not, what brought you to the island?
I grew up Moscow. My childhood was spent in the Urals region. This is our second year. I see Cyprus as a safe place in our turbulent times The island's nature and my art allow me to piece myself together during the most challenging moments. I transform those pieces into color, expressing them as emotions, and escape into rhythms that, in turn, pull me back into life.
What inspired you to become an artist
After a successful career in IT technologies, I made a significant transition to the world of art, where I seek inner harmony and unity with nature. My journey I document through my art.

You talk about personal sustainability; can you explain this?
For me, sustainability is a holistic vision of life, where we pay attention to our inner world, interact consciously with the outside, and stay true to ourselves and our environment. I hope to inspire others to adopt this mindset in their own lives. Living conditions on the island provide a basis for studying the issues of existence within the framework of natural limitations. And appeal to the viewer to maintain all components that affect our reality In my work, I constantly work on the audience's perception, forming a unique vision in the context of the relationship between man and nature.
How long does it take to complete a painting
Sometimes, emotions overwhelm me, and I work in a flow, creating several artworks in a short time. However, some tasks require a more complex approach, references to the past, and dialogue with past artists across time boundaries.
How do you hope to inspire others ?
Do you take on private commissions Yes, I do.
I invite viewers to listen to the inner silence. This very silence separates us from the noisy outside world and reveals the emotions hidden within. In this silence, we discover not merely a pause but a creative space, allowing to rethink our reality.

Having 6 children has definitely made me a target for judgment over the years. Mostly because people can’t relate to or understand how having such a big family can tick. People jump to conclusions; I must be religious or am prolifeorinthewordsof the most unoriginal and unfunny comment of all, lack a television. People have assumed I’m on benefits or super rich. I am neither. People just can’t imagine how anyone could handle that many, or they assume it’s too much, or they simply project their owndiscomfortontome. It takes a strong and confidentwomantohave six children and an even stronger person to brush off the comments, some thatborderedonbullying in the workplace in my past. I am frequently asked is do I have a favouritechild?
They’ve all developed into wonderful humans with their own unique intelligenceandqualities that I am proud of. Each of them bring something special to my family dynamic, and it is so rewarding to see them grow into their own unique selves. It’s so important to give them all space and at the same time nurture so many individual strong personalities. Igrewupfeelingunloved with my older brother being the ‘golden child”.
