Staff has been working with Accessology, Too LLC since November on the development of an ADA Transition Plan for the parks and recreation system The consultant has completed the site evaluations and provided a draft plan to the department for review. Once these documents have been reviewed by staff, an implementation schedule will be developed with the consultant. The plan is expected to be presented to the MPFDC and City Council for adoption by the end of FY23

The financial sustainability project (aka cost recovery) is moving into the final phase After service categories were developed and beneficiaries of service were identified, the consultant completed a full analysis of our cost of services. Staff is now reviewing this work and will be drafting cost recovery goals for the service categories by the end of June. Recommended fees and charges will follow, with policy recommendations completing the project by the end of August

Parks and recreation staff are working closely with Mansfield Police on improved security cameras for the park system Staff will be meeting with vendors this month to determine the best technology that can be implemented that can provide live monitoring access to multiple departments. The parks with the most usage will be prioritized in phase one, with smaller parks being added in future years.
