Through the Gauteng Department of Education’s “Know your province” campaign, learners will be exposed to various places of interest in the province. “The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG), through the Social Cluster Departments, has organised activities for youth during the holiday period. “The cluster has appointed facilitators, caregivers and site managers for the School Holiday Programme, which will run for the first week of December from 4- 8 December 2017,” the department said. Learners will be transported to various heritage sites such as Freedom Park, Constitutional Hill and Maropeng, among others, as part of the programme. The programme aims to deter learners from engaging in destructive farewell parties. “We call upon [learners] to remain focused and to abstain from participating in pens down parties, as these parties often lead to tragic incidents,” said Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi. Pens down parties are events where learners, especially Grade 12 learners, celebrate the end of exams. The department pleaded with parents and community members to discourage these activities, as they have the potential to rob learners of their future. “There are people who lost everything because of these activities, hence the warning to our children. Equally, our children need to know that there are more important things in life and consequences of such practices are sometimes to their detriment. “All sorts of ungodly activities are done at such events, including indulging in drugs, unprotected sex and tearing of school uniform -- something that needs to be condemned in all fronts,” said MEC Lesufi. Instead of engaging in such behaviour, learners are instead encouraged to donate their school uniform to their respective schools, which would be used by those who may need it most. Moreover, the department appealed to owners of liquor stores and taverns to make it their responsibility not to sell alcohol to learners. Mapepeza Reporter, SA News
JACOB KHAWE IS EMFULENI'S NEW EXECUTIVE MAYOR! Mapepeza Reporter
The Emfuleni Local Municipality has a new mayor after roads and infrastructure committee chairperson in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature Jacob Khawe was sworn in on Thursday morning, November 30 at the Emfuleni Council Meeting. The FF Plus hopes that the new mayor of Emfuleni, Mr. Jacob Khawe will outperform its predecessor. Philip van Staden, FF Plus member of the Provincial Legislature, said Khawe will have to show his mettle as he Emfuleni would fix and only time will tell whether he will succeed. He said Khawe is a good person but he buckled under intense political pressure from above. "The FF Plus hopes that Khawe as mayor
will not give in to this pressure, but that he would put the interests of Emfuleni's taxpayers above those of ANC. "I served Oon Khawe's roads and transportation committee since 2014 the Gauteng Legislature. Mr. Khawe stumbled lately with the new legislation regarding the Gautrain under political pressure to get the law pushed through. Nevertheless, he is a resident of Emfuleni and I hope he will do the work can get done as mayor. "The FF Plus wishes Mr. Khawe all the best, but nevertheless assured him that the FF Plus councilors in Emfuleni him will watch like a hawk, "said Van Staden. Khawe takes over from disgraced former mayor Simon Mofokeng, who resigned last week following accusations of sexually grooming.

President Jacob Zuma joins the rest of the world to congratulate the reigning Miss South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, on being crowned Miss Universe 2017 at the beauty pageant held in Las Vegas in the United States of America. "Our nation is immensely proud of Ms Leigh for this tremendous achievement. She has hoisted the South African flag higher and continues to inspire many young women who look up to her, to reach even higher for their dreams. We congratulate her most heartily and wish her all the best during her reign which is South Africa's reign," said President Zuma. Ms Nel-Peters became only the second South African to win the title after Margaret Gardiner won the title in 1978. She competed against 91 contestants from around the globe, the biggest number of entrants in the history of the competition. She now has to forfeit her title of Miss South Africa to the first Princess as her new role is a full-time job. She looks forward to working in the USA.
Pres. Emerson Mnangagwa’s first move! Former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been sworn in as Zimbabwe's President, becoming the third President of that country. He has wasted no time in his plans to restore the state and its economy.
In his first major act since his inauguration, President Mnangagwa said on Tuesday, November 28, that those who externalised funds and assets had a three-month grace period beginning December 1 this year to repatriate them without facing any penalty. “As a first step towards recovery of the illegally externalised funds and assets, the Government of Zimbabwe is gazetting a three-month moratorium within which those involved in the malpractice can bring back the funds and assets, with no question being asked or charges being preferred against them. “Upon expiry of the three-month window, government will proceed to effect arrest of all those who would not have complied with this directive, and will ensure that they are prosecuted in terms of the country’s laws." Those willing to comply were directed to approach the central bank for “necessary facilitation and ac-
counting". President Mnangagwa said the directive followed activities linked to a military initiative, code named “Operation Restore Legacy”, which discovered that huge sums of money and other assets had been externalised. “Such malpractices constitute a very serious economic crime against the people of Zimbabwe, which the Government of Zimbabwe will never condone,” he said.
“Upon expiry of the three-month window, government will proceed to effect arrest of all those who would not have complied with this directive, and will ensure that they are prosecuted in terms of the country’s laws."
“Operation Restore Legacy” was an intervention by the army in government affairs, which it said was targeted at dealing with a situation which was threatening to degenerate into violent conflict and was targeted only at “criminals” who had surrounded former President Mugabe. President Mnangagwa said he was establishing a “lean government” that will deliver efficient service to bring relief to a people who have suffered economic hardships for two decades. He will serve as interim president until late August 2018, when Robert Mugabe’s term was set to expire and after that, the people of Zimbabwe are set to elect their next leader. Africa has dreams Africa is not Africa just not yet

The Year of OR Tambo:
When her dreams are not yet attained Because those dreams are her real self Let my dear Africa dream again As it was in the days of old On the beds of colonialism Where white supremacy flooded our land, Ceased power from our stools in broad daylight, Turned our Kings and Queens into bad apples, Made our fathers prisoners in our own land, Made our fathers hailers of foods from our own pots, Hailers of water from our own streams and rivers. Yes those were the days that forced us to dream So we started dreaming when we were yet awake. What happened to those dream after the long walk? From when we learned to sing songs of freedom, From when we leaned to laugh the true laughter, From when we started to think with our own heads, From where we began to love and care with our own hearts for our own land, Bringing home the palm wine to moisturize the dried tongues, Those mighty dreams that used to reap our enemies hearts, A nightmare that chases them out of sleep, Oh! My dear Africa had sons, my ancestors
RESPECT!
1 Tim 5:1 DO NOT sharply censure {or} rebuke an older man, but entreat {and} plead with him as [you would with] a father. Treat younger men like brothers; 2 [Treat] older women like mothers [and] younger women like sisters, in all purity.
T
They shared in these dreams too, Garvey, Haile Selassie, Gaddafi, Nkrumah and the rest Oh! I offer homage to your legacies But my eyes cry my heart sinks I feel hopeless and lost Ask me why I cry It's because the house is now empty of your blood The men in the house now don't have pan African spirit

They think and talk me not us or we We cry, we cry, we cry the cry There is a dirge hanging in the air We the young ones of today The very pillars of the future
Because our lives, our future had been sold on the plait of corruption We toils all day and achieves nothing Then goes to bed to face nightmares Meanwhile age and needs are getting close on us Nothing you had but with wisdom in your heads And courage in your hearts You carved the dreams for mother Ghana and Mother Africa with hopes Where every son would be free and be blessed Free to project our culture, eat our own foods; dress and talk like Africans In your land, wisdom and knowledge flows like streams Your muteness is much noisy here So send a strong heart like yours who can lead us Out of these mazes Until then, Africa is not yet Africa.
imothy was Apostle Paul’s friend and co-worker, he was a young pastor and respected by believers in his time. Paul also refers to him as his son in the faith. At one stage Paul instructed Timothy to confront false teachers by sound and healthy teaching. In as much as Timothy was very instrumental in preaching and teaching the Gospel, Paul instructed him to show respect and value other people. We are living in the times where violence and abuse is the order of the day, those who are in positions of power and influence disregard the poor, Men abuse women, women abuse men, school children disregard the rule of law, religious leaders are using the name of the Lord in vain. It is time for Africa to go back to God, a time where we need to respect one another irrespective of position, race, and cultural background or otherwise. We need to rise as Africans beyond personal artificial status and begin to embrace one another for who we are not what we drive, wear or own, but for who we are. Parents need to take on their responsibilities and teach the nation, children also need to listen and learn from the elders for they are the future. Brothers needs to support each other through the hardships of life and strengthen one another in faith, Sisters in turn needs to appreciate one another. Let’s celebrate our uniqueness and diversity as a nation, and embrace the fact that as a nation we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God, we are the image of God, let us not fight our uniqueness. By respecting one another we shall build the nation that we yearn for. Let’s fight Jealousy; abuse and violence for they are the main enemies of our beautiful nation. Shalom
Prayer: Dear father help us build our nation with love and that we may prosper as a nation Amen

A Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Approach is needed to fight Gender-Based Violence,
F
ollowing the recent disturbing cases of sexual violence in Gauteng schools, Premier David Makhura appointed a Special Cabinet Committee to avert the level of sexual violence as well as to put in place measures to strengthen safety of learners in schools.
Busi continues on how Government responds to disturbing cases of sexual violence in Gauteng schools... In the first column (last week’s issue #30), Busi condemned the incident where about 87 pupils from AB Xuma Primary School in Soweto were sexually violated by a elderly school patrol guard.
The committee, comprising MEC for Education, Mr Panyaza Lesufi; MEC for Community Safety, Ms Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane; and MEC for Social Development, Ms Nandi Mayathula-Khoza will work closely with Non-Governmental Organisations on gender education in schools. In October, the Special Committee met with some School Principals, School Governing Bodies, Station Commanders, Community Policing Forums and Patrollers to strengthen safety measures and raise awareness as part of Gauteng Provincial Government’s “Campaign to Empower the Girl Children and Young Women” in the Province.
writes Busi Kheswa (PART TWO OF TWO COLUMN SERIES)
Premier Makhura said the scourge was much more widespread if sexual offenses committed against girl children in communities and households were included. Makhura urged everyone to confront this scourge with all resources so as to bring the perpetrators to book. He further reiterated a need for comprehensive response by the police, communities, households and all relevant authorities.
FCS is one of the major success stories because of the high rate of arrests and successful prosecution of perpetrators.
The Premier said he did not believe that a Commission of Inquiry was the answer to any type of criminal activity but a combination of law enforcement, breaking the silence, victim empowerment and social mobilisation and gender awareness is most needed. The re-introduction of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) as the Specialised Police Unit and increasing resource allocation to fight crimes against women and children was yielding positive results. The
As the late Tata Nelson Mandela would say “Our children are our greatest treasure. They are our future. Those who abuse them tear at the fabric of our society and weaken our nation”. As we commemorate 16 Days of Activism of No Violence Against Women And Children, let us all rally behind the protection of our children and women, one abuse it one too many!
Continued psycho-social support such as counselling through Social Development and relevant NGOs for those affected is also crucial and these services should be extended to pupils, particularly in schools such as AB Xuma.

Moyo’s the Overall Winner! The City of Ekurhuleni Council honours Kwesta!
The Front page cover story...
On Thursday November 30, during its final ordinary sitting, the City of Ekurhuleni Council awarded the Mzansi Rap superstar, Senzo “Kwesta” Vilakazi, for his continuous efforts and superb accomplishments in the South African music industry. In a tweet later that day, the artist said this was his 15th award this year. It is without a doubt that the name Kwesta has become synonymous with excellence and ingenuity, the year 2017 has seen the young man push boundaries within the South African music industry even further.
Green World 8-Star consultant Neronence Moyo poses with the prizes she and her team received at the 10th anniversary meeting of the South African division.
By Margaret Ndawonde & Stephen Seakgwe The international direct-selling company that specializes in personal care and wellness products has recently held their 10th Founding Anniversary Meeting of the South African division. Officially trading in the country since June 9, 2016 Green World SA has grown to be trusted by people of all sectors of society as an ‘expert of health’. Awards and prizes were galore for the best performing consultants of Green World SA at the Ellis Park Arena (Johannesburg) on Saturday, November 18. No doubt, the biggest winner was Neronence Moyo. She won a business car and four exclusive getaway trips around the World, she is amongst other distributors rewarded for their contribution to this growing global brand.
A
nnually, Green World consultants and salespeople are awarded for their contribution to providing ordinary people affordable and natural products. Many people have enjoyed their prizes, consisting of luxury cars and villas amongst others. Green World’s presence in Africa entends to 22 countries, with office and distribution centres/specialty stores that service the 1,3 million distributors (Recorded 1,310,895 distributors in April 2017). In her acceptance speech as Global Star of the Year 2017, Moyo had many words to say in gratitude for her achievement. She had this to say: “Greetings everyone. My name is Neronence Moyo and I am an 8 star consultant. May I take this opportunity to recognise the honorable President of Green World Dr Deming Li, Deputy President David Zhang and all the respectable dignitaries from different continents including branch managers, Team leaders, and all delegates. It is a pleasure to host you here in Johannesburg. I would like to thank Green World company for extending this life changing business opportunity to Africa. A big thank you to my sister Virginia Moyo for introducing me to this marvelous company, and of course special thanks to my beloved team, Must Achievers. Team, I love you so much. I am what I am because of you. I appreciate every single one of you and your effort in taking the business forward. I’m humbled by the respect you give me as your leader, even though I am far younger than most of you. Since we started using the name, Must Achievers in September 2015, we have always pulled together as a unit towards our goals. As far as goals and targets are concerned we always aim to live up to our name. Achieving our goals is a must. We aim to scoop all the awards offered by Green World. This is why I was able to qualify for the international trip to China together with 3 of my partners in 6 month’s time after joining Green World. Within these first six months, I qualified for my first business car award. To show my team that it is possible, I qualified for my second business car award within the next 4 months. In 2016 we produced 9 China trip qualifiers, 5 Cape Town trips, 2 business car awards and I was able to qualify for the Thailand trip as a one year old team. At the end of 2016, we made resolutions and set new targets for 2017. We aimed at 20 China trips, 10 car awards and 5 Paris trips. It all seemed too high when we set it. But I had to lead by example. I spent most of my time doing outdoor campaigns, presentations and trainings in different parts of South Africa, like Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and even as far as Zimbabwe. When the team emulated this strategy, we were able to produce great results. This year we have produced 27 China trip qualifiers, 6 Car awards, 4 Paris trips and have opened 13 speciality shops. There is nothing more fulfilling for me than seeing my team achieving big things after taking this opportunity seriously. And each and everyone of us here can achieve, but only if we fine tune our attitude towards the business. You need to first awaken that sleeping giant within you and be able to believe in yourself even when things seem bleak. It is a must to achieve and have your own story to tell. It is a must to achieve and lead by example. It is a must to achieve and build confidence in yourself and the team. It is a must to achieve and soar to greater heights, that will make you and your team earn big. You need to conquer all the obstacles and shine because you were born to be a winner. Stop making excuses and start acting. I believe in every single one of you. Your life can change for the better in Green World. New members, I can assure you that this is the best opportunity you can get, just go for it. Be passionate about it. Thank you very much.”
gle Ngud’ , Best Collaboration for the same track and finally Album of the Year.
It is against these amazing achievements that the City of Ekurhuleni Council wishes to honour Kwesta for hoisting the flag high and inspiring a spirit of excellence not only for the youth of Ekurhuleni but also for the youth of South Africa. The Arts and Culture domain is one characterized by expression and presentation of creative skill, it continues to be popular amongst the youth as it articulates meaning and restores value in our heritage. It is artistry that we witness through musicians such as Kwesta and others in the indusBorn in Katlehong on the 11th of August 1988, try that proves that the spirit of creativity is still alive. Senzo “Kwesta” Vilakazi has made prominent Mapepeza Reporter strides within his music career. Spanning over 10 years, having started the journey as a teenager with nothing but a dream and taxi fare to Buttabing Entertainment in 2003, Kwesta’ s music has won the hearts of fans across the country; and, more recently made international inroads by featuring U.S rap artist Wale on his single Spirit. Major highlights in his career include being a brand ambassador for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and headlining the national run up roadshows as well as the release of Dakar in 2013, his second album which did exceptionally well on the charts, debuting at number 3 on iTunes South Africa. Earlier this year, SAMA’s 17 saw the pinnacle of recognition for his work as he scooped a total of five awards; namely, Best Male Artist of the Year, Best Rap Album, Highest Airplay of the Year for his sinGreen World sells a range of wellness products and herbal supplements, consisting of natural sourced and grown crops in the United States of America and China. lesterol, blood pressure and having anti-oxidants. Green World’s slogan, ‘We Care, We Share’ symbolizes that the company ‘cares for your health, quality of life and future; business opportunity and a 5000 year health care philosophy (from China) is what ‘we share’ is all about. Founded and led by Dr. Deming Li, the company has indeed grown in leaps and bounds to positively impact millions of Africans and the rest of the world. Before the 10th Founding Anniversary Meeting took place, the Mapepeza team got introduced to the Green World SA company during its press briefing at their headquarters in Parktown. During the gathering, the company executives greeted and made their remarks in anticipating chairperson/ founder Dr. Li to arrive in South Africa. Inspiring and entertaining lead consultant at Green World, Cannicious Nkala clearly briefed the media on the company and what it stands for. The team also heard interesting story of how Nkala went from rags to riches (not filthy rich, but wealthy) from joining the international herbal product group. The most interesting thing in meeting Green World consultants is that they do not behave like doctors, because they do not prescribe medicine. The products they supply are tested supplements and complement the healing and restoration of body functions. The company employed a multi-level/network marketing business model to attract, recruit and train their distributors to sell the products. Using its branches, it provides support to its consultants and distributors estimated to be over 100 000 South Africans. The company has no age limit for joining, but parental supervision is recommended to minors. “Network marketing is a business centred around people. Young people can find a support system, from sign up to setup, from their leader - the person who they registered with. Families are encouraged to collaborate and sell the products as a team. Plus, as you go along the journey, one meets many distributors who also lend a hand when in need,” said Cannicious Nkala. Indeed the ceremony was one to remember for all who attended. It was a way to celebrate a decade’s endevour of this whole life’s commitment to human health and empowerment. Visit www.world-food.com for more information on Green World.

Vote Cikizwa for Miss Eagle South Africa 2018!
By Dimpho Mohlomi
Cikizwa Clementine Mdidimba, 23, born and bred in Ratanda township, south of Gauteng has entered the 2018 Miss Eagle South Africa (MESA) pageant and has called on people to support her. To vote for Cikizwa, SMS ‘Cikizwa’ to 35334 (R3 per entry).
R
ecently, Mapepeza’s Dimpho Mohlomi interviewed Mdidimba as she gathers votes to become a finalist and hopefully go all the way to winning it.
Miss Eagle 2018 is a pageant looking for the most beautiful and inspiring women of today. Miss Eagle SA is a national ambassador of femine beauty and is said to ‘spread her wings’ by making a difference, inspring people to achieve their dreams. “I am a God fearing young woman. I wouldn’t say that I’m a quiet person. I am quite friendly and reliable. I’ve always had a personal feeling of engaging with people as an extrovert. I would always engage myself in debating and public speaking at primary and secondary school. Having such a platform always made me feel special and it would drive me to work harder. A book-worm that I am, always made me insightful. I’m a very enthusiastic, passion driven individual, outgoing and loves adventure, even though I’m afraid of heights. Honestly speaking I am quite sensitive at heart I must say. I value inner harmony and personal growth, driven by my own original ideas to achieve improvements.” she said.
The Impact of Miss Eagle SA in Cikizwa’s Life... “I must say, Miss Eagle South Africa 2018 has come at the right time in my life. It has brought positivity, enthusiasm and a drive to personal growth. Miss Eagle South Africa is a new ‘Beauty with Brains’ contest. It is all about woman empowerment, self-discovery and a dignified platform for an individual to learn from. It has shaped me in the woman I’ve always wanted to be, inspiring and a motivator. I look forward to serving my community and serving other communities out there, branding Miss Eagle South Africa in a more respectful and dignified manner. This is our chance as contestants to prove that we are “Eagles with a Purpose”, that’s my motto. I believe in not only showing physical beauty, but the beauty from within. We may not master everything now, but with the MESA platform we can be fierce women, the leaders of tomorrow. I expect to grow in this contest, stay fierce and make my family, friends, my community of Ratanda and mostly myself proud. I would appreciate that people vote for me to reach the semi-finals stage.”
Cikizwa matriculated at Khanya Lesedi Secondary School in 2012 and furthered her studies with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioural Sciences at North West University, with Psychology and Sociology as her major subjects. Both at primary and secondary level, he held various certificates of achievements in public speaking and debate at the provincial and national level. “Driven by my passion of helping people, understanding their well-being and how our environment shapes a person’s behaviour intrigued me to go in such a field of study. Personal growth is all about self-discovery and I got to better understand my self while I was still busy with my studies. After graduating in April 2016, I wanted to do my Honours in Medical Sociology, but instead I took a different path in studying Life Coaching which I’m still busy with at the Academy of York. Being a future Life Coach is growing in me, exciting in fact. I believe my career path is bright, with the obstacles that have come my way, being a business woman, a Life Coach, growing my professional practice and a fierce Miss Eagle South Africa is the right way to a better future,” Cikizwa said. Mdidimba says she comes from a big family, a spiritual family. “The love and support we give each other is amazing. One never feels left out or less loved, in isiZulu they would say “siyimbumba”. After losing my mother through cancer last year December I never thought I would be this strong woman I am today. My uncles are so loving and caring. They always push me to do better and greater things. My family allows me to explore and they trust me enough to do good and make them proud as I have with the Miss Eagle South Africa 2018 contest.” she responded.
