Our Engagement Story
Jackie met Bethany and Dave Lytle when they all moved to teach at an international Christian school in Lima, Peru. Jackie was fast friends with the Lytles and would often enjoy a Girls' Night Out with Bethany to talk about life, family, teaching, faith, movies, and anything else. When Bethany died of cancer only ten days after her diagnosis, the Lytle family grieved a tremendous loss, as did Jackie and hundreds of people that Bethany impacted in her lifetime. In the midst of Dave's grief and sorrowful transition, he held tight to the hope and security he had in Christ. Dave and his three young children walked forward, embracing life however they could each day. In this season, Dave and Jackie's friendship shifted as they bonded over conversations about loss, grief, faith, and hope for a future. Now Dave and Jackie are ecstatic to meet at the end of the aisle at Marbella this November. They will embrace the blessing of marriage, regardless of life's inevitable difficulties and sorrows; their family will only be strengthened as they join hands and head forward in faith and hope. Bethany's legacy will be celebrated in their home, even as their family grows in the future. From a bond of friendship has grown a deep, deep love.
