1º CARRO – ABRE-ALAS: O SONHO NASCE EM MINHA ALMA | OPENING FLOAT: THE DREAM IS BORN IN MY SOUL Homenagem à cidade do Rio de Janeiro, que traz, em seu Abre-Alas, o Cristo Redentor em construção; hoje, essa obre representa uma das Sete Maravilhas do Mundo e se tornou patrimônio mundial da humanidade. | Homage to the city of Rio de Janeiro. The opening fl oat brings the Christ Redeemer still under construction; it now represents one of the Seven Wonders of the modern World and has become a world heritage site.

1ª ALA: TRAJE TRADICIONAL 1ST WING: TRADITIONAL GARMENT (VELHA-GUARDA | HONORARY SENIOR MEMBERS) A Velha-Guarda desfi la com seu traje tradicional. The honorary committee parades wearing their traditional garment.

1º SETOR: EM BUSCA DA ETERNIDADE 1ST SECTOR: SEEKING FOR ETERNITY

2ª ALA: MORADA DA VIDA ETERNA 2ND WING: ETERNAL DWELLING A ala traz uma das maravilhas arquitetônicas do Mundo Antigo, a Grande Pirâmide de Gizé, que viria a ser o túmulo do faraó Queóps, abrigando seu corpo embalsamado. | The wing-group brings one of the architectural wonders of the Ancient World: the Great Pyramid of Giza, which housed the embalmed body of the Pharaoh Cheops.

3ª ALA: UM PORTAL PARA O PASSADO 3RD WING: A GATE TO THE PAST Faz-se referência à deusa Ishtar que, em Babilônia, recebeu a mais grandiosa das portas da capital, erguida pelo rei Nabucodonosor II. | It refers to the goddess Ishtar, who, in Babylon, received the grandest of the gates of the capital, erected by King Nebuchadnezzar II.

4ª ALA: O TEMPLO DA DEUSA 4TH WING: THE TEMPLE OF THE GODDESS O Partenon ou a “casa da virgem”, consagrado a Palas Atena protetora da cidade e deusa da sabedoria, da guerra e das artes. | It is the Parthenon or the “house of the virgin”, dedicated to Palas Athena, protector of the city and goddess of wisdom, war and the arts.

5ª ALA: NA ARENA DA CIDADE ETERNA 5TH WING: IN THE ARENA OF THE ETERNAL CITY A arena do Coliseu remete à política de “pão e circo” e é um símbolo poderoso da arquitetura e da força do Império Romano. | The Colosseum arena is allusive of the “bread and circus” policy and it is also a powerful symbol of the architecture and strength of the Roman Empire.

DESTAQUE DE CHÃO | FLOOR SPOT: FABÍOLA ESTRELA FANTASIA: PIRÂMIDE MAIA, O NINHO DA SERPENTE EMPLUMADA COSTUME: MAYAN PYRAMID, THE NEST OF THE FEATHERED SERPENT’S NEST Obra arquitetônica construída em devoção ao deus Kukulcán cujo signifi cado é “serpente emplumada”. Architectural work built in devotion to the god Kukulcán whose meaning is “feathered serpent”. 6ª ALA: ENTRE O CÉU E A TERRA 6TH WING: BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH A pirâmide da cidade de Chichén Itzá, consagrada ao deus criador Kukulcán, foi projetada pelos antigos Maias como um templo de adoração e sabedoria. | The pyramid of the city of Chichén Itzá, dedicated to the creative god Kukulcán, was designed by the ancient Maya as a temple of worship and wisdom.

7ª ALA: EXÉRCITO DE TERRACOTA 7TH WING: THE TERRACOTTA ARMY A descoberta do Exército de Terracota revelou a existência de um mausoléu subterrâneo, ainda repleto de enigmas e vestígios arquitetônicos. As esculturas de argila guardavam o túmulo de Qin Shi Huang imperador da China. | The discovery of the Terracotta Army revealed the existence of an underground mausoleum, still full of puzzles and architectural remains. The sculptures of clay soldiers guarded the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the emperor of China.

2º CARRO: EM BUSCA DA ETERNIDADE 2ND FLOAT: SEEKING FOR ETERNITY O legado de antigas civilizações mostra a capacidade humana de transformar o espaço e os materiais ao seu redor em obras que resistem ao tempo. É o caso do milenar Exército de Terracota que tinha o objetivo de proteger o imperador chinês por toda a eternidade. | The legacy of ancient civilizations shows the human capacity to transform space and materials around them into works that resist time. This is the case of the millennial Terracotta Army who was meant to protect the Chinese Emperor for eternity.

2º SETOR: ARQUITETANDO O BRASIL 2ND SECTOR: ARCHITECTING BRAZIL

8ª ALA: ARQUITETURA INDÍGENA 8TH WING: INDIGENOUS ARCHITECTURE Remete aos povos indígenas e às suas ocas, tradicional construção indígena. | It refers to indigenous peoples and to the “ocas” (traditional indigenous houses made out of bamboo and straw, among other materials).

9ª ALA: ARQUITETURA COLONIAL 9THWING: COLONIAL ARCHITECTURE Na arquitetura colonial, as casas foram erguidas pela mão de obra escravizada, sob as ordens dos senhorios da Colônia portuguesa. In the colonial architecture, the houses were erected by enslaved labor, under the orders of Portuguese colonial landlords.

10ª ALA: O BARROCO DO MESTRE ALEIJADINHO 10TH WING: MASTER ALEIJADINHO’S BAROQUE O artista Aleijadinho é lembrado em obrasprimas, como a do Santuário do Bom Jesus de Matozinhos. | The artist Aleijadinho is remembered in masterpieces, such as the one of Bom Jesus de Matozinhos Sanctuary.

11ª ALA: A CHEGADA DA FAMÍLIA REAL E DOS AZULEIJOS PORTUGUESES 11TH WING: THE ARRIVAL OF THE ROYAL FAMILY AND OF THE PORTUGUESE TILES A chegada da família real ao Brasil trouxe consigo os tradicionais azulejos portugueses, que passaram a ser mais utilizados nas edifi cações da corte. The arrival of the royal family in Brazil brought with them traditional Portuguese tiles, which became more used in court buildings.

13ª ALA: BELLE ÉPOQUE 13TH WING: BELLE EPOQUE Na paisagem urbana da Belle Époque carioca, a Confeitaria Colombo fl oresceu no centro da movimentada metrópole e tornou-se patrimônio cultural e artístico do Rio de Janeiro. | In the urban landscape of Rio de Janeiro’s Belle Époque, the “Confeitaria Colombo” (Colombo Bakery) fl ourished in the center of the bustling metropolis and became Rio de Janeiro cultural and artistic heritage.

14ª ALA: CATEDRAL DE BRASÍLIA 14TH WING: THE CATHEDRAL OF BRASÍLIA (BAIANAS | WHIRLING LADIES) A Catedral de Brasília, primeiro monumento da capital, projetada por Oscar Niemeyer, é considerada uma das edifi cações mais expressivas e icônicas do arquiteto brasileiro. The Cathedral of Brasilia, the fi rst monument in the capital, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, is considered one of the most expressive and iconic buildings by the Brazilian architect.

15ª ALA: DESMATAMENTO 15TH WING: DEFORESTATION O desmatamento coloca em risco a vida de moradores e o equilíbrio do planeta. | Deforestation puts the lives of residents and the balance of the planet at risk.

16ª ALA: PONHA-SE NA RUA 16TH WING: YOU ARE EVICTED! A especulação imobiliária expulsa a população pobre das áreas centrais da cidade. | Real estate speculation expels the poor population from the central areas of the city.

DESTAQUE DE CHÃO | FLOOR SPOT: VALÉRIA GONÇALVES FANTASIA: ALICERCE DA ESPERANÇA COSTUME: FOUNDATION OF HOPE Homenagem aos trabalhadores que organizam um mutirão de amor pelo direito à moradia digna para todos. | Homage to workers who organize a joint effort of love for the right to decent housing for all.

Um alerta ao consumo desenfreado, o uso de produtos descartáveis e a expansão desordenada das cidades que tornam o lixo urbano um grave problema. | An alert to uncontrolled consumption, to the use of disposable products and the disorderly expansion of cities that make urban waste a serious problem.

22ª ALA: VOU DE BICICLETA 22ND WING: I’LL GO BY BIKE Representa o incentivo ao uso de ciclovias e ao veículo que é símbolo mundial da sustentabilidade: a bicicleta. | It represents the encouragement to the use of bicycle paths, and to the vehicle that is a worldwide symbol of sustainability: the bikes.

23ª ALA: BANHO DE SOL 23RD WING: SUNBATHING Representa as praias, espaços públicos de integração e diversidade. | It represents the beaches, public spaces for integration and diversity.
