EUROPORT 2021 IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE FIRST PROGRAMME COMPONENTS. THIS YEAR’S LARGEST MARITIME EXHIBITION WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 2 TO 5 NOVEMBER IN ROTTERDAM AHOY AND ITS BRAND NEW CONVENTION CENTRE. IT IS THE 40TH EDITION OF EUROPORT, MAKING IT ONE OF THE LONGEST EXISTING MARITIME EXHIBITIONS IN THE WORLD.

Of course, Europort 2021 also looks to the future. In fact, chartng the path to a sustainable maritme future is one of Europort’s primary ambitons. To initate a deeper understanding of the transiton trails that are of vital interest to the maritme ecosystem, four major themes will dominate the Europort 2021 agenda: Digitalisaton, Energy Transiton, Next Generaton, and Ship Finance.

Extensive knowledge programme

In common with the previous 39 editons, Europort 2021 ofers numerous conferences, thematc masterclasses, matchmaking and networking events, seminars, and workshops in close collaboraton with its partners and industry organisatons. Exhibiton Manager Raymond Siliakus says, “Once again, a very extensive knowledge programme will be implemented. We’re proud to be working with many respected partners in the sector, in order to create a relevant programme for all of our maritme segments.”

Europort Opening Summit

Maritme peers can get inspired during the ofcial Europort Opening Summit, consistng of challenging questons on the themes Digitalisaton, Energy Transiton, Ship Finance, and Next Generaton, and a triggering expert panel discussion.

The Innovation Stage

The Innovaton Stage will focus on the four central themes of Europort 2021 for four days. Europort exhibitors and partners will pitch their innovatons live on stage. Located in the heart of the fairground, the Innovaton Stage ofers a free access daily programme. Each day another industry theme will be top of mind.

Smart Digital Ports

For the frst tme in its 40th anniversary, Europort presents the ‘Smart Digital Ports’ conference. Europort is commited to the next generaton of efcient and connected ports. Global ports and the entre supply chain debate, discuss, network, and share best practces on the latest developments in automaton, sustainability, and connectvity.

‘Funding the European Inland Navigation’

Also new is the frst Mare Forum enttled ‘Funding the European Inland Navigaton’. This event creates the chance to discuss and make a diference. With multple keynote speakers and panellists, the following questons will be addressed: Who has a clear view of the design of the barge of the future? What insights do we have into the commercial viability of future ship designs? Who will take the investment risk on these technologies? What is the role of the capital provider and charterer? Is LNG just a transiton fuel? Hydrogen, ammonia, bateries, and nuclear? Is there enough infrastructure in ports to facilitate new fuels? Will we have new trades, requiring new ship types such as hydrogen carriers and ammonia product tankers? >>

An international ‘matchmaking’ event for companies and institutions in the maritime industry.

Ship Finance Pavilion

On the initatve of Netherlands Maritme Technology (NMT) and the Royal Associaton of Netherlands Shipowners (KVNR), this year’s editon will feature a dedicated ‘Ship Finance Pavilion’, located in the heart of the fairground. The Ship Finance Pavilion ofers a daily programme of short presentatons by industry experts in the feld of ship fnance, funding and/or subsidies for shipowners, shipbuilders, and suppliers. The pavilion will also serve as an informal informaton and meetng desk where visitors can consult fnancial experts for questons and answers.

MariMatch 2021

And then there will be MariMatch 2021 on 3 and 4 November, organised by the Enterprise Europe Network. This is an internatonal ‘matchmaking’ event for companies and insttutons in the maritme industry that are looking for new business and/or research partners. The event ofers the opportunity to gain new internatonal contacts for future technology partnerships. The focus is on innovatve technology. Afer registraton on the MariMatch website, partcipants can schedule appointments with other partes or be invited by potental foreign partners. The intermediate network of Enterprise Europe Network plays an actve role in connectng partes from diferent countries.

Furthermore, a Shipathon will be organised where answers are sought by young professionals on many challenges, a variety of promising start-ups will present themselves on the exhibiton foor, and numerous industry organisatons will organise their own events.
