The LED specialists mobile, media & more was founded at the end of 2003 by Britta Vorfelder and her business partner. Following the supply of two large LEDbased screens for events, the business focus shifted to the yacht industry. The first project was Lürssen-built 155m Al Said, accommodating 65 guests and around 150 crew members. Al Said delivered in 2006 and had around 500m of LED strips installed. Today the number of metres per project is between 3,000 and 5,000. mobile, media & more’s products can be found on well over 100 superyachts, including the largest in the world. Located near Frankfurt in Main, mobile, media & more employs a proven team of specialists who supervise projects all over the world. A lmost without exception, the owners of large yachts today demand homogeneous light lines on their boats. In more than 95% of applications at mobile, media & more, we use the standard encapsulated neon flex or milky products, such as our Dynamene product families. These are customised in-house in length, injection of front connector and preinstalled cable feed and end cabs. We reacted to this development early on and rely on our ‘Made in Germany’ manufacturing in order to maintain control of both functionality and delivery time. Britta Vorfelder, CEO of mobile, media & more, explains the advantage of in-house production, commenting: “We can guarantee an extremely short delivery time due to our machine equipment and our skilled workers, and deliver the product in all lengths and versions.” This is especially important in the project or construction phases.
Global reach At mobile, media & more, we also need to respond to the requirements of interior fitters and designers in the superyacht sector looking for shorter cutting lengths of LED strip segments. The experts for individual LED solutions now offer their Dynamene Milky 10 x 10 and Dynamene Milky 23L material in a cutting length of 41.67mm. This is in place of the previous cutting length of 83.33mm. “The designs of yachts are becoming more and more filigree, so it is possible to work more precisely with the shorter cutting length”, says Vorfelder. This is exemplified by a 100m + yacht that was equipped with the material, and which underwent an elaborate refit in Hamburg. The Dynamene Milky 10 x 10 product is available in both a sideview and topview version. mobile, media & more offers and supplies it in different colour temperatures and more recently in an RGBW topview version. The portfolio for the injection process includes the Dynamene Milky 10 x 10, the Dynamene 23L and the Dynamene 5050 with dimensions between 10 x 10 and 21 x 11.5mm.
