PORTADA
Hola soy Frida Cervantes.
Hello!

Sometimes, because of all the excitement, you forget to thank your family and friends for making your quince experience a great one. We made it easy for you not to forget! Although giving a speech the day of your quince is important and sometimes mandatory, thanking your guest differently shows your commitment of growing up and maturity. The type of thank you I’m talking about are Thank You cards! Thank you cards are a must! You already have about a million things to think about, thanking your family and friends can skip your mind. So why not add thank you notes to your list of Must Haves.
I love you every body AMOR BY: VP PHOTO
Ok! But what are thank you cards/notes?.Thank you cards are hand written notes thanking your guest for attending and thanking them for any gifts you received from them. Writing thank you cards to all your guests is nearly impossible and where do you start? And How? and to whom? Dont’ worry we can help! Think about the people that help you the most that day, for example your court, even if they are some of your best friends, please express your gratitute. Your family ofcourse, this includes, your god parents, aunts, and uncles - show them some love with a hand written thank you note. They will feel appreciated. Even if they are your best friends and your family, make sure to use your guests full name and personalize the Thank You Card.
Now for the best part having fun with

the thank you cards. Thank you cards don’t have to be a big fancy mess, instead a nice delicate design. You can cordinate with your quince theme or use your dress colors. Or use different colors and design. there’s nothing wrong with been creative! The idea is to have fun and to show your guest you care. Traditionally thank you notes are done for weddings, baby showers, and or birthdays, but must people really enjoy getting these hand written letters because it shows how much you appreciate them taking the time to celebrate with you. So have fun with your thank you cards and be creative, honest, thankful, and inspiring.

Finding the ideal venue can be difficult, with so many different options the experience can be overwhelming. Here are some quick and easy tips on how to choose the best venue and get the best bang for your buck.

important. Look for packaging, ask if they have any promotions and if they could lower the prices if you choose all the services they offer.
2.
Second you must already have an idea of what you want the theme to be. With your theme picked out, decide if you want an indoor or outdoor quince, and yes you can have an outdoors quince.
4.
Most venues have photographers, floral arrangements, and even offer a party planner.
• Make sure you do your homework and ask questions. • By asking questions, you can determine if the venue provides good costumer service and are interested in actually making your party a successful one. • If you see unorganized managers/owners run away they will not care if last minute have a crisis and need their help.

anticipated birthday since the day you were born. You and your parents have been dreaming and planning your quinceañera celebration for years. Capture that special day and tell your story using the very new, very popular, very TRENDY art of Cinematography!

The capturing of a special event celebration such as a Quinceañera has evolved thru the years, amongst the most common; a standard video, blue ray, and now the art of cinematography. A cinematic video is created by DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras, which also have the ability to photograph. A DSLR camera is comparable to a filmmaking camera with features such as the capacity to interchange different types of lenses, which provide different dimensions to a traditional video proving realism to your story. The results a simple scene will tell viewers a story, while composing photos in motion, a concept similar to today’s movies.

No matter where your from we all have traditions. Whether you are Mexican, Colombian, Cuban, etc. We all have them. As a latin community we follow many different traditions for example; The replacement of the shoe, the last doll, and many more. Tradition is something you always want to keep, it represents who you are and where you came from. Although tradition can be boring and outdated, when doing it correctly it can be appreciated by your friends and family.
We have so many traditions to choose from, so how can you make sure you choose the right one?
PHOTO BY: Who Knows Photography ©1970’s
Well it’s easy! Your first step is to research all the traditions out there, by doing so you will have an idea of what you want to do and what fits your style. Then, write down the top 5. Writing five down can help you choose the one that you like and by narrowing the possibilities it becomes a little easier. After, sit down with your parents and discus the one that suits you best. Trust your parents they always know best. Finally, ask your mother, aunts, and grandmother which tradition they decided to show at their quinceanera, that should help you make your decision easier. One of my favorites and the one
that never fails is the father/mother daughter dance, that one is always a tear breaker. You want to make sure the tradition your showing brings something special and memorable, because after all you only turn fifteen once. Also don’t be afraid of sincerity, after all everyone loves a good show. Although tradition is something we need to make our quince special you also need innovation, something new or different. Think about been original and unique find ways to make your quince different fresh and new.

Being unique does not mean remaking something. It simply means to change something and making it your own. We all have different styles and attitudes so why not make a quince like you. The little changes is what’s going to make your party original, from the smallest things like the flowers, to the dress, and more. However some people may disagree with me on bringing new elements to the party, but even so new always bring excitement. You don’t always want to be a follower be a leader. So have fun and don’t be afraid of change.
What’s your Choosing a color could be stressful, but worry no more we are here to help. COLOR IS VERY IMPORTANT it speaks who you are and gives you an edge. Color could be one of those things that can make a party or a fail to impress. No way?! So how can I get different colors to work for me? Well we have color all around us in nature, clothes, and art so why not get inspired.
COLOR can also determine the mood your party can have. For example if you want your party to be calming or relaxing go for more earthy tones like soft greens, browns, burnt reds, and even soft blues. But if you want a glamorous vibe go for gold, silver, reds, and black. One of my favorite and easy things to do is following the seasons. Every season has a color palette, spring has the pastels, summer the neons, fall the burnt reds, and winter the dark blues. So why limit your self with pinks and purples be original and make your party a work of art. Now we have so many options that sticking to traditional colors has been done over and over again. So here are three questions to ask yourself when picking your quince colors. What mood do you want your guest to feel when entering your venue? Have you been inspired by any art, dress, or a movie that you’ve seen? And finally do you see yourself loving this color? Use these questions to help you find that perfect color. And I guarantee your party would be a great success.
So be inspired and stay chic. 40

Currently we have so many different flavors that you can use on cakes, so why go for boring old vanilla. When you could have a delicious chocolate with buttercream, and have your guest drooling over your cake all night.
But why limit your self to just a cake? why not a cupcake? Cupcakes are great substitutes for cakes, they have individual servings and can give your party that original WOW! factor you want.

d r a w r o F t o o F st e B Putting your Congratulations on your upcoming quinceañera! This is such an exciting time for you, not only because of the fun that comes with planning your quinceañera, but also because of where you are in your life. Sometimes, with so much revolving around the quinceañera planning, we tend to forget to address other very important issues. It is my hope to impart upon you some food for thought as you move forward with your lives. Have you ever asked yourself how do I make a wonderful first impression? Do you wonder what energy, aura or image you are putting out there? First impressions are formed anywhere from three to nine seconds of meeting and/or seeing you. You may wonder, how am I supposed to put my best foot forward within such a short span of time? How can someone judge the real me in just a few seconds. The answer is: by how you carry yourself; the grammar you use, how you’re dressed and how you behave in general.
These 10 Tips will help you go a long way in social circles. You are about to embark upon a wonderful journey and it is my hope and that of Quinceañeras Magazine, that the tips listed above will provide you with some insight on navigating this big, big world you live in. We at QM, will continue to bring you articles which will help you get through not only the quinceañera process but articles which will equip you with the knowledge and tools to be a productive member of society. We know your teen years can be fun and exciting and challenging and difficult all at the same time. This is a time for new discoveries: a time to explore novel ideas and open your minds, while finding your true center. You will undoubtedly make mistakes during this process but do not let that discourage you—we be proud of you! Go out and find your way and prepare yourselves for a promising future! That you’re well-educated (you get good grades and pay attention in school); 2). That you come from a good family (that cares about you and your future); and 3). That you have a high level of self-respect.
Top 10 Tips for a Young Lady: Let’s discuss the ways in which your femininity and lady-like behavior will set you apart from the others: 1. Throw out your gum; 2. Keep in mind you are a role model for other women your age. Please act the part. 3. Please keep your language and your social media posts clean; 4. Your clothes should fit well (modesty works wonders!); 5. Don’t be a part of the “Mean-Girls” Club; 6. The words “thank you, you’re welcome and it is a pleasure to meet you” should be a regular part of your vocabulary; 7. Compliment someone sincerely and do it with a smile; 8. Never underestimate the power of proper table etiquette; 9. Please turn your cell phone off or silence it when in the company of friends; and 10. Remember to send a “thank you” note!

It would be quite difficult to put together a Harry Potter party if you have never read any of the books or seen any of the movies. We all love to be in trend and know what is going on in the fashion industry, and with make-up it’s no different. We are always going through magazines (like Quinceañera Magazine…that is) and looking at publications to see what models are wearing on the runway along with our favorite celebrities. Well here are the top trends that have made Spring/ Summer 2012 just a bit more BOLD, Shimmery, colorful, and catty…but yet sweet and classy! Bright, bold colors hit the runways turning heads and leaving people speechless. We are seeing electric colors being swept from inner eye socket to the outter lid something that for sure will get attention! Some of us are bold and other a bit more sweet whatever it is that you like….you also can be in TREND! As I ways say, ““There is no right/wrong way or rules that say how make-up should be done. Make-up does not come with instructions! We hold the power within us to embrace our artistry and use it to our advantage”.
METALLIC EYES
Wow….my fav! You could never have too much bling (well in my EYES that is… lol), metallic and glitter eyes are adding a lot of bedazzle to the runways and big events. Some big designers are using gold or silver leaf on the entire lids; others are using glitter. Either way both will give a reflection of true royalty.

CAT-LIKE EYES
Who said that being a bit catty …couldn’t be fashionable? A lot of leading designers have swooped the black liner and false lashes on the outer corners to really give you that dramatic, cat-like look! From a soft winged liner to the over the top almost reaching the brows it will for sure be PURRR-fect.
COLOURED LIPS
Brightest blue, lime green, fuchsia and all shades blues may all be pretty color to look at…..but what about on your lips? Yes, all these colors have joined the classic red and plums. For an eye opening look that really spills color out of your mouth!
DOLL-LIKE PRETTINESS
Being young and beautiful like yourself always pays off…dewy skin with a gentle blush, pale pink lips and a coat of mascara are your top ingredients for a super pretty, doll-like look. Young, fresh, and clean is the look that many designers chose for their looks something that you might even already be doing….you trendy little girl!

This next trend is more for after the quince or if you have 2 dresses. The trend is TRASH THE DRESS! Yes you read right TRASH! When
I saw this trend I couldn’t believe it, but after I saw all the pictures I was wowed! The way this works is if you have two dresses decide which one to trash. You want to do things that relate to who you are and what you like. But if you don’t have two dresses then trashing it after the quince could be a memorable experience that you will remember for years to come.
I’m not talking about literary going to the trash can and trashing it, but doing things you never thought about doing with your dress on.
