A week for you, the exporter, the investor The South African Trade and Inward nvestment promotion agency Trade and Investment KZN (TIKZN) will host KwaZulu-Natal’s foremost trade event in November. The two-day Export Summit is part of the event. Export Week, will be held from 17 November - 21 November 2014, and aims to highlight the significance of KwaZulu-Natal’s exports to the South African economy. It also celebrates the hard work and success of the province’s exporters. The week will be filled with information sessions and networking, the export business summit at the Durban ICC – will see both local and international speakers share their experiences and valuable tips with delegates – it will end off with the Durban Chamber’s Exporter Awards Gala Dinner. Export Week KZN showcases KwaZulu-Natal’s firms and entrepreneurs, and encourages the production of higher quality goods and first class services at lower prices. A ‘must have’ publication is the Export 101 booklet, which serves as a very practical guide to the often complex process of exporting. TIKZN was instrumental in the development of the information in the booklet. “Our goal was to provide a thorough overview of exporting, a means to answer every possible question on the subject,” explains Mr Zamo Gwala, TIKZN CEO. TIKZN services extend to guiding companies through customs processes and assisting in registering as exporters. The agency can put companies in touch with clearing and forwarding agents, export transporters, shipping agents and export agents. TIKZN staff are familiar with the Export Market and Investment Assistance (EMIA) scheme and is resourceful in provision of information on industry specific assistance.
