CURRICULUM VITAE I am currently at the stage of completing the first year of study at the University of Central Lancashire, UK for a BSc in Architecture. This portfolio is a collection of my work in the last academic year. I believe every building design is meant to have its own characteristic and uniqueness. In all my projects, I had engaged myself in generating solutions aiming to raise the quality of habitation. Experimenting and driving into innovative methodology are the most joyful things to me. With that satisfaction I had learned montage, parti-diagrams, ornaments, orientation, flow of population and much more as demonstrate in my portfolio. Right now I would like to fulfill my summer vacation with substantial work experience which would provide me opportunity to think about my education in the coming years.

Pavilion Project
04/2014
This Pavilion focuses on solving the inefficient flow of tourist visiting to Lancaster Castle. By using an underground tunnel and entrance into the prison of the castle and exit out to the tundra grassland can give the visitors a great experience of “prison escape”. When a visitor exit out from the tunnel and look back, the stunning view of the church and the grand impression of Lancaster Castle give a much great enjoyment of the whole journey they have just gone through. More over, the overhead- glass design in the pavilion’s café gives the visitors a sense of closeness to the natural environment while still in a comfortably warm indoor environment. The exhibition center is located at the center of the Lancaster Castle. Its curve rooftop is a mimic of the topography of the grassland where the pavilion is located. Tangibly, it brings the nature’s tundra into a man-made structure. This research experience has inspired me that we can grow grasses on a curve surface.

Dwelling Project This is a design about using the least materials to build a house while being able to provide a comfortable environment. The solution is to build the house with the live area under the ground level. This design will leave out more spaces and windows for the sunlight to

enter into the underground areas. The effect will give more headroom before the celling which will gives the habitant a sense of openness.

Personal Space at the Market The design brief required us to build a personal space structure in a busy market. My design was to achieve privacy, greenery, productivity and being integrated to the site. At the ground floor, the cell-walls of my structure are totally covered by wooden planks. Natural lights and fresh air are coming from the ceiling windows. At the intermediate level, there were some spaces between the ground and first floor. This allows winds to pass through and to generate electricity by the wind turbulence. The spaces also make some rooms for the ground floor ceiling’s windows to open and close. At the first floor, there is the personal space - a bed and a recliner . The two levels are connected to each other with a spiraling stairs. Opposite to the stairs there was a slider. The slider aimed to improve productivity by means of faster going down. The roof was supported by steel bar frames. The design in this way can adapt to the surrounding with similar support of the roof of the market. This design will help integration of the new building into the existing environment.

Montage Project It is common to struggle about unique and innovated design when being the first year Architecture student. The lack of experience and technique is just limited down our imagination. Therefore, this project is to introduce a new way of being innovated; it’s called as montage. The way of generating building design is by cutting out photographs of buildings from magazine. By sticking them together in a way of your own had form the shape that one’s could never thought of. Below is my montage design. I had separated it into seven floors with two being underground. Base on my preset client, I had then spatially designed to fit their own purpose.
