State planning provisions
State planning policy
The minister has identified that the state planning policy is integrated in the planning scheme in the following ways: Aspects of the state planning policy appropriately integrated All Aspects of the state planning policy not integrated Nil Aspects of the state planning policy not relevant to Mareeba Shire Council x Coastal environment x Strategic ports Note—Agriculture is reflected in Overlay Map 1 and is required to be mapped by State Government in response to Economic Growth State Interests. Note—Strategic airports and aviation facilities are reflected in Overlay Map 2 and is required to be mapped by State Government in response to Infrastructure State Interests. Note—Natural hazards are reflected in Overlay Maps 3, 6 and 8 and are required to be mapped by State Government in response to Hazard and Safety State Interests. Note—Biodiversity and Water quality are reflected in Overlay Map 4 and is required to be mapped by State Government in response to Environment and Heritage State Interests. Note—Mining and extractive industry is reflected in the Strategic Framework Maps and Overlay Map 5 and is required to be mapped by State Government in response to Economic Growth State Interests. Note—Cultural heritage is reflected in Overlay Map 7 and is required to be mapped by State Government in response to Environment and Heritage State Interests. Note—Energy is y reflected in Overlay Map 9 and is required to be mapped by State Government in response to Infrastructure State Interests. Note—State transport infrastructure is reflected in Overlay Map 11 and is required to be mapped by State Government in response to Infrastructure State Interests.
2.2
Regional plan
The minister has identified that the planning scheme, specifically the strategic framework, appropriately advances the Far North Queensland Regional Plan 2009-2031, as it applies in the planning scheme area.
2.3
Referral agency delegations
Schedule 7 of the Regulation identifies referral agencies for certain aspects of development. The following referral agencies have delegated the following referral agency jurisdictions to Mareeba Shire Council. 2.4
Standard planning scheme provisions
The minister has identified that the Queensland Planning Provisions version 3.1 dated 27 June 2014 are appropriately reflected in the planning scheme. Editor’s note—Section 53 of the Act states that where a planning scheme is inconsistent with the QPP, as amended from time to time, the QPP prevails to the extent of the inconsistency.
