VOWELS: /i/ and /ɑ/
STAGE: Guide Practice ACTIVITY: Cube and stop. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Students will be divided in two groups. 2. Each group will take turns to throw to cubes. One of them will have the vowels “/i/ and /I/” and the other one will have different topics. 3. Depending on what the cube says, the two groups have two write 10 words with that vowel and with that topic. 4. The group that has the 10 words will have to scream STOP and tell the words that they wrote. If they are correct they win one point. 5. The students with more points wins.

VOWELS: /æ/ and /ɑ/ STAGE:Controlled practice ACTIVITY: Paint the sound INSTRUCTIONS: 1.
Students will have two color pencil: red and blue. Red is for the vowel // and blue is for the vowel//
2.
The students will be given a worksheet, with words inside of figures.
3.
The students will have to paint the figures depending on the vowel that is in it.
4.
The teacher will check it with the students.

STAGE: Listening and discrimination /Controlled practice ACTIVITY: Image selection/Minimal pairs. INSTRUCTIONS: 1.
The teacher will print minimal pairs of the vowels “/i/ and //I�.
2.
The students will be divided in two groups and they will have to make two lines.
3.
The teacher stick a minimal pair on the board.
4.
Then, the teahcer will say one of the words.
5.
Shortly after that, the teacher will count until 3.
6.
A student of each group will have to run to the board and grab the correct image.
7.
The student has to say which sound it is.
8.
The group of the student that grabs it first will win a point.
9.
The group with more points at the end wins.

Students will ge in groups of three.

The teacher will give each group 2 cups. Each cup has written the phonemes /s/ and /z/.
3.
Then, the teacher will give different lollipops sticks. Each of them has different words with the phonemes /s/ and /z/.
4.
The groups will have to put the lollipop sticks in the correct cups.
5.
The first group that does it will win .
