Peter Pan AUTHORS: BAUTISTA NAGEL ALEJANDRO DE CORRAL FRANCO TROTTA ADRIANO FUGANTE
NEW VERSION: PETER PAN
You might know the story of Peter Pan! But this is the true story of Peter Pan! Once upon a time there was a family, who lived in London. The father was a carpenter and the mother had died about two years before. They had two children Wendy, a girl, who was 12, and Michael, a boy who was 9.The family lived on a block where there was a boy called Hook who was the leader of “The rude boys”, and another boy called Peter who apparently suffered a rare mental illness. The kids mocked him because he imagined magic fairies flying all around the world. Wendy liked Peter and defended him from “The rude boys.” “The rude boys” mocked her too because she was on Peter´s side.
One day, while Wendy and Peter were walking along the road “The rude boys” appeared, grabbed them and took them to an empty warehouse where they locked them and left. All of a sudden a tiny beautiful little fairy appeared in the place. “My name is Tinker Bell, I know you are Peter and Wendy and you need my help. What can I do for
you?" “Tell my father where we are so that he can come and rescue us,” said Peter. “Don´t worry I´ll rescue you, and take you home.” When Peter arrived home he told his father what had happened. His father looked at him with a sad smile and decided that his poor Peter had gone mad and took him to hospital. When Wendy heard what had happened she tried to persuade Peter´s father that the story was true, but it
was useless. Wendy was so sad that she went with her brother to the hospital to see Peter. When she arrived he was gone. What could have happened to him? This is what happened. He appeared on a tropical island. As you know tropical islands have a jungle and a lot of sunshine. He met a group of children whom he later learned were called” The crazy Children.”
Peter woke up in a bed made of wood and leaves inside a hut. When he went out of the hut he saw six children staring at him. They asked if he wanted to be their father. Peter was very happy and he said: “Yes! Why not?” He became the leader of this group of boys who
followed and obeyed him. Their new life was a very happy one. They fed with what nature provided and played and played and played.
Twenty one years later Wendy became an investigator. Her only purpose was to find out where Peter was. She had never stopped missing him. One day an old man, whom she had met in a park, told her that Peter was on an island. He was sure of this because one of the six boys was his nephew who had disappeared in the same strange circumstances as Peter´s, but this was the only data he had
“Where did you get this information from?” asked Wendy “In a dream”, replied the old man “I must find the island,” thought Wendy. How did Wendy find the island? In a dream. The next day she went on a plane to the island. She found Peter playing with his sons-friends in the jungle. Peter had not grown and the six boys had not grown either.
When Peter saw Wendy he ran to hug her. They hugged for a while and then after telling each other about their lives Wendy asked him to come back to London with her.
“I can´t do that. If I go back I will have to become an adult. I´m happy here.” Wendy agreed and promised to keep Peter´s secret forever. She would come to visit him as many times as possible. Peter and Wendy each in their own world lived happily ever after.
