The materiality led the projet from its beginning. I wanted to explore the many possibilities that concrete offers. The project developeded itself around concrete declination (color, surface treatment, texture ...). It apparence changes according to the use : skeleton, skin, inward ...

MULTISCALES Culture + historics industrial buildings + urban parc (Genoa, Italy) Here is the overall view of the project, which is finally mainly about a landscaping project and rehabilitation of historical and industrial buildings on this plot. Its divided into poles described, plus new access on the plot. A pole of daily life in the ex-caserna, a small sports pole in the East outgrowth, and a cultural center in the North in the proettilificio. It’s about working at every scales : from urban planning to technic details and materiality.

DAILY LIFE POLE
The entry into the project is through the arch of the caserna. We then cross his patio to access the park. The entrance of the urban park gives way to the kids area : with children’s games and skate park in the West, and in the East to collective vegetable gardens a botanical and cultural greenhouse. These proximity installations are related to the habitant of the neighbourhood and particularly of the caserna. Then we arrive on a large mineral square and on the forecourt of the proiettificio.

SPORT POLE
To the east of the gardens are organized in green terraces, with benches to sit and vegetation. A wood path leads visitors to the field, which can accommodate various events in the neighborhood or the adjoining school. Then on the west side there is a bicycle lane.

CULTURAL POLE
On the side path to the proettilificcio there are terraces, vegetated strips on both sides of the bike lane, and access to the plot facing one of the side entrances of the proiettilificio, which would be detailed into the next pages of this book.

ARCHITECTURAL PHASE The most important point of the project is the ex proettilificio, which becomes a technological and cultural center. We divided it into different levels according to its morphology and its differents windows, to optimize the spaces, and to take advantage of side and zenithal lights. Both ends of the building are left without levels to so you can understand the space of the proetticio from the entrance. The blind part is reserved for services, with also circulations against it. Wells of light carry the light to the ground floor. The ends are left without floors to allow to apprehend the spaces of this historic buildings.
Below : plans of the programmatic division of the levels depending on a grid of the building’s morphology. The activities that take place in it are very diversified (visits, events, exhibitions, cocktails, screenings, catering, coworking 24H / 24H ...) and can take turns between the day and the night. Ground floor : main activity + public reception First Floor : studies, creativity Second floor’s Mezzanines : more intimate spaces.

NEW STRUCTURE This technical slide shows the structural principles of poles-beams of the structure added in the proettilificio, as well as the materials used that highlight the existing building and match its materiality. econeighborhood Town Planning (Oullins, France) Urban planning project on the district of Saulaie, former industrial zone of Oullins (northwest of Lyon, France). This almost disaster area has big advantages, however. It is directly connected to Lyon by metro, whose line is still expanding. The idea is to make it enjoy its proximity to Lyon, while creating an independence based on his strong identity and many own qualities. Current ecological issues are added to this ; so the urban typologies are organized in the sense of an eco-neighborhood.

360° Outdoor Amenities (Parco Urbano delle Mura, Italy) Several phases divide this project. Following an initial analysis of the site (the neighborhood of Perrache, in the 2nd district of Lyon), a first concept emerges. Then it is applied to the site, and allows to develop a first architectural realistic project for an annexed town hall of the 2nd district. The notions of landmarks and proximity emerge, a gradation of intimacy appears and transpires on the plan into fragments. Finally, this project is amplified, exaggerated, to extract the essential points and push into new symbolic shapes.

360° FLYERS Proposition of flyers, still with the idea of developing communication on the Parco Urbano delle Mura and on Forte Puin, explaining what it is and how to get there. An easy way to spread the interest of this historic site and make it attractive. On the front you can view a 360° panoma of the surroundings of the Forte Puin, and on the back the various informations. (Italian language) These attractive flyers can be available in tourists’ offices or even in shops. The landscape attracts the eye and can be folded back on itself (its ends meet).

COSA E IL PARCO URBANO DELLE MURA ?
Il “Parco delle Mura” deve il suo nome alle Mura Nuove, erette nel Seicento a magg città e del suo bacino portuale; ancora ben conservate e circondano Genova in un abbracc invisibile per chi vive e si muove giù in basso, nelle vie del centro. Sono un monumento urban unico e prezioso e costituiscono un magnifico luogo di incontro fra la città e la natura. Il Parco t di colline fra la val Bisagno e la val Polcevera. Il Parco comprende alcuni forti militari e in qu alcune specie animali e vegetali protette.
Il percorso classico inizia dal capolinea superiore della funicolare (Righi) e prosegu Castellaccio e Sperone, già da qui la vista si apre su tutta la città e la natura è sovrana. L’escu continuare verso l’ottocentesco Forte Begato che domina la Val Polcevera, o verso l’interno pe piccolo Forte Puin ed il magnifico Forte Diamante, posto a 660 mt. di quota, il più alto ed isola Per piu informazioni : http://www.visitgenoa.it/

COME ANDARE AL FORTE PUIN ?

1 Con la macchina: ora è possibile andare direttamente al Forte in auto, grazie alle nuove strade ma anche al nuovo piccolo parcheggio vicino all’ingresso che permette di parcheggiarlo proprio ai piedi del Forte. Da Genova, prendere la strada lungo i forti Sprone e Puin verso ovest e seguire le indicazioni. Stai attento ad essere equipaggiato con un’auto adattata a queste strade di montagna.

Segui i sentieri indicati e ti troverai sulla piazzetta che offre un incredibile panorama a 360 gradi...

RECESS Collective housing (Lyon, France) The idea that leads the project is the gradation of intimacy. This reflection create different scales of intimacy, especially for the common spaces. The project is located in the neighborhood of Guillotière, in the 7th district of Lyon. The plan is organized as cells-housing, grouped around a courtyard by a corridor. These cavities provide each homes natural light and ventilation for secondary rooms often left out, and also isolate the dwellings from each other. Optimization of circulation : a single elevator and staircase, in a celle which also includes commun services.

IMBRICATION Type housing (France) The point of this project is to create a standard housing according to various studies and sociological analyzes on the way of life of a home (intimacy, common life ...). It must be able to be repeated vertically and horizontally, and must be adapted to the lifestyles of different households (single-parent family, couple, collocation ...). It is organized on a plane of 9x9 meters and on two levels, and can only be transversal in order to be repeated laterally. It has to be thought and optimized for everyday life in these slightless details.

A
COASTAL DESIGN Various coastal project (Liguria, Italia) The agency Simone Paoletti Architettura works mainly on largescale projects, urban architecture or landscaping. It often builds or rehabilitates large complexes in the Liguria region, more widely in Italy or abroad. I have worked on a particular series of projects all located in Genoa, espacially on the coast. Most of my work consisted of producing visuals (masterplans or sections generally) as evocative as possible of the planning idea that Simone wanted to present. A few more complementary technical plans and documents could accompany them to support the feasibility of the project. It had to be projects in which an investor could project easily, with remarkable key ideas that suggest quite directly the profitability of the project, but including the architectural intentions of Simone.
ROSETTI
Longitudinal section. Proposal of equestrian complex and urban park in the center of Genoa (Foce), at the seaside an occasionally by forrain (Fiera di Genova). The project also plans to build the beach to create a direct link to the sea.

NERVI Prospective public pool and sports complex with park extension in Nervi (East of Genova). Case of presentation of two variants: one with wide extension of the park and completely underground sports complex with zenith light; the other with swimming pool and gyms underground and extension of the park around. In both cases, destruction of old warehouses, development of car parks for, especially in anticipation of an extension of the complex.
TOTEM Town Hall (Lyon, France) Several phases divide this project. Following an initial analysis of the site (the neighborhood of Perrache, in the 2nd district of Lyon), a first concept emerges. Then it is applied to the site, and allows to develop a first architectural realistic project for an annexed town hall of the 2nd district. The notions of landmarks and proximity emerge, a gradation of intimacy appears and transpires on the plan into fragments. Finally, this project is amplified, exaggerated, to extract the essential points and push into new symbolic shapes.
